Opinions on a Part-time Job in High School

So I forgot to mention earlier that I don't really need the job. I have enough saved up from odd-jobs etc to pay for gas through high shool and probably longer.

My job would be teaching kids swim lessons, and it is at the gym I currently go to (fitness center).

I already know photoshop and after effects (I geeked out in middle school). But i'm not very creative with logo design, etc so can't make any money with it. I run a website using wordpress, so that is a skill of mine, along with SEO, social marketing and other skills behind running a website. I hope to build this site into something that brings 100+ bucks a month eventually. It only gets like 40 uniques a month at this point, it's only 2.5 months old. I don't want to look like I'm spamming on here so I won't post it.

For working on sports specifically, I would have to work very, very ridiculously hard at golf to get any sort of scholarship (like 3+ hours a day through the end of senior year, I'm a junior starting today.) DIII may be a reasonable goal.

In school I'm taking 6 AP classes so it is rigorous.

So I guess what I'm really asking is if a 10+ hour per week job would be worth the 5 or 6 thousand I've saved up by the end of senior year, or if I'm better off just focusing on school, game and chilling?

It looks like you're doing pretty well yourself, kudos to you for being on the move. I wish I could go back 5 years and do that.

Taking that into account, this is what you can do.

Work and save money for a nicer car

Work and save money for a tuition

Work and save money for a graduation present. Trip to SEA and bang 20 pinays/thais or EE and bust a nut on some girls.

Work and save money to launch a business. Read on YoungMobileGlobal, good ideas to launch businesses or start an import/export empire. 10 K might not be a lot in america but you can get somewhere with that elsewhere.

With the skills you have, you can work from anywhere in the world. Look into "location independent income" threads.

Strange question. Do you need money, if so get a job, if not don't get one.

You bet its worth it. $5000 is a good downpayment on a car, or the whole thing on a beater. If you need to get some kind of loan or rent an apartment after HS, you may be asked to provide bank statements--having that money sitting in your account will look very good. If you're going to go to college after HS then its a good chunk of spending money while you're in school. If you do well in that job, the manager will probably hire you back on a seasonal basis during Christmas and Summer break.

Here's what I'm getting at--delayed gratification and thinking of the future. You may not have enough time to spend it now, but in 3 or 4 years you'll be damn glad you have $5k cash on hand.

Not trolling. The kid is underage. So if he's white (just an assumption) and smart about it, he can make bank, access to lots of poon, n hookups to every single social circle

trolling.
