New Year in Lima, Peru

Hey, guys.

Since I´m obliged to take 15 days off from work in december (either that or I lose them because of work rules) I´m thinking about doing some travelling.

I´m planning to fly to Lima solo, do some exploring and pick up girls by myself. My buddy from Brazil will fly there on friday 31st december and we plan to spend the new year weekend there and then return.

There isn´t much in this forum on Lima, so I´m turning to you guys for some advice.

Where to go? What to do?

The travel is gonna be low budget, so I´ll either stay in a hostel or rent a cheap furnished apartment.

Isn't New Years in Brazil (Rio) supposed to be the world's best?

yeah, if you consider 100,000 screaming, drunk brasileiros in your face, with urine streams running down the street, pickpockets, and disgusting dogshit on the street everywhere the best. That was my experience.

Nothing in South America beats a Miami/Las Vegas (I skip NYC - way too crowded, and nowhere to take a leak aside from it freezing you to death) ...and forget Colombia, they stay INDOORS with family on New Years Eve and get piss-drunk and party on Christmas Eve (ass-backwards from USA).

If you must leave the country, I'd head down to Whistler, BC Canada or Slovenia since its packed witah huge University crowd easily gamed.

Yeah, I would suggest Carnival or New Years in another location in Brazil other than Rio. I went to Guarapari, Espirito Santo in Brazil for New Years and had a blast! Not saying that you could just go there and have a great time, I had a good group of friends and a gorgeous Brasileira with me at the time. But I'm sure there are plenty of real legit spots outside of Rio. I feel like events in Rio get too crouded and seedy. Most Brazilians suggest spots off the beaten path, such as Morro De Sao Paulo or other spots in Bahia. From what I hear a lot of girls in Bahia are quite ugly, but during the holidays in a lot of these spots, people come from neighboring Espirito Santo and Minas Girais, which are IMO the states with the best looking women in Brazil. I remember when I went to Guarapari for new years, my friends came back from Morro De Sao Paulo and said it had the most beautiful people they've ever seen. Another great place to go is Universa Perillel (Spelling). It's basically a huge rave/party for 7-8 days. It's a little pricey, but I hear it's off the hook. My friends were trying to get me to go so bad, but I just didn't have the money. They had a blast. They called it "The Brazilian Woodstock."

Vegas is definitely a good choice. The New Years I spent in Guarapari and in Vegas have been my favorite. Me and some friends rent a sweet and throw a huge hotel party, then go out and try to find some girls to bring by while we watch the fireworks. I'm interested to see how New Years will be in Miami. Same with Halloween. Vegas is off the hook for Halloween. Everyone is throwing huge houseparties all over the place.

Here in Europe people light off their own fireworks, so if you like that, come to Europe.

Hey, come to Peru!!. I don't understand why I'm the only one to suggest it. I don't feel you so enthusiastic, but I think you can have a lot of fun here. However, there are so many beautiful places that I wouldn't recommend you to celebrate in Lima. Instead you can go to Cuzco, Arequipa, Piura(in summer it rocks),or in the country of Lima where you can camp in the case you go with friends.

think about it.

Hey, Insomnika!

I´m picking Lima because of the chicks and the beaches. I hear it´s got the best looking girls, so I´m afraid I won´t get to visit Arequipa or Cuzco this time.

Can you give me some suggestions as to what to do in the city?

Havn't made it to Peru, but I swear I had a killer time in Bolivia (Contrary to what some others reported) but maybe it's because I'm such an Aryan specimen [Image: wink.gif]

Really though, I can say I know many Peruvian girls here in the DC area, and they probably the EASIEST latina's to bang. Every single one of them has pretty much been keen on banging or atleast blowing me in the first night or two I met them. Be careful, they are alos big on lying, trickery, asking for money in some way or another (sorry to anyone from Peru, but this is pretty much my direct experience) but they are hot hot hot and easy to get started. Of course, if you do not like browner, native looking or darker mestiza girls then you won't really like the majority of Peruvians.

PS - From what I understand in Lima there is a good sized population of European looking Peruanas, lighter skin lighter eyes etc.

Insomnika,

Thank you for writing about all those places to go in Lima. I am interested in going to Peru next year, so it's always motivating and inspiring to get the "inside scoop" from a local. A local female, even!

I hope you and Brazilianguy get to meet up in December. That would be cool.

Hey thanks!

If you are interested don't think about it too long, just come , you won't regret. But it's always good to have a local friend here because turists only spend their money in expensive places so they don't get to enjoy the whole enterteinment.

I like very much my country, but I need more friends to explore Peru because you know , it's not always easy to fit in the schedules of others, so if you come feel free to contact me...

and tx 4 ur wishes, if I meet someone from the Forum I promisse to share photos, except the naughty ones,haha...just kidding XD

By the way I forgot 2 important places in my list:
- Visit "Las Islas del Callo" in direct contact with marine life, you can touch Sea Lions and Humbolt Pinguins!!
- Visit Lunahuana and Marcahuasi which is near there that's 100% Xtreme Adventure, you do boating in fast waves, and in Marcahuasi you see the star very very big as if they were at 2 cms of your face, and also you can see OVNIS, that's what people say.
