Orange Is The New Black

Anyone seen this Netflix exclusive show?

I just started watching the first episode, so no spoilers here.

The main character, a woman who ends up getting sentenced to prison for 15 months for a crime committed 10 yrs prior, is the perfect example of how modern women define themselves.

(1) A temporary, lesbian phase
(2) Successful small business owner
(3) Doting fiancé.
(4) Looks like she is 22 at age (approximately) 32.
(5) Etc.

I can see the show going in one of two directions. (A), she has to take responsibility for her rationalizations and past screw ups, or (B), this you-go-girl, pro-female drama continues to play to the egos of women everywhere, especially those (all Western women) with victim complexes.

I've just started watching, but this show strikes me as the least red-pill thing I've ever seen.

I'm the King of Beijing!

Ok good, I wanted to punch the screen and thought it was 'sex in the city' in jail after watching the 1st episode and yelling 'oh fucking great, its Jason Biggs'

Female prison is basically High School. It's a chick show.
Kind of a dumb show.

My friend knows the pregnant girl on the show.
She's a singer in a Brooklyn band.

Check her out.

I saw a couple of episodes, it's one of very few mostly female comedy shows that's actually funny.
Her NYT-writing fiancée is a fucking loser though. Every time he gets on screen I just fast-forward.

Saw a couple of episodes of this due to a chick I was seeing.

Every male character is designed as an object of ridicule, through being sexist, 'old-fashioned', unmasculine, socially-inept with women, easily-manipulated by pussy, or incompetent. Women hold all the power, even in prison.

It's girl power porn for girls: if functions exactly like any random television commercial that features a bumbling husband. Men are usless. Women hold the true power. Naturally, it stars a white, affluent child of privilege so that the feminists recognise themselves in the main character.

Fuck it, utterly.

Since I don't watch everything on TV through a manosphere tinted lens I seem to be the only guy enjoying this series. If you want a male centered series check out House of Lies where Don cheadle is banging strippers and being boss.

The main character in Orange is unbelievably naive and inept at handling the characters in her surrounding but apart from that I'm entertained.
Lots of titties as well which is always a plus.

Interesting question for members who watch shows through an aforementioned manosphere lens:

Also one for the Alpha v Beta obsessives.

In the Sopranos, the character Johnny 'Sack' Sacrimoni is incredibly beta in terms of his relationship with his obese wife. On the other hand, he is a boss of a crime family who could have your entire family tortured and killed if he so wished.

Is he alpha...or beta?

Pornstache is awesome. Here's his comeback:

Couple of other good ones

And Pablo Schreiber is just plain cool.

Alpha. To me, he never came across as weak with his wife, although his acceptance of her obesity was a little strange. Remember when he caugt her munching on candy bars and put her in her place?

I also loved that whole subplot in regards to the Ginny Sack joke and Ralphie. Fuckin genius show.

Mafioso do not get divorced.

Sack was banging broads on the side. Not his fat wife.

Actually, I think he was the only one without a mistress.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

So what's the verdict on orange is the new black?

Everything from the title to what I've heard about it seems to be girl power surrealism.

I haven't seen the show but I overheard a girl talking about it in the gym today, I'm pretty sure. She said, "It makes you want to join a gang."

If only you knew how bad things really are.

LOL

This is why the male angle is misunderstood. You have a large group of people who are weak, dependent and incapable having fantasies about being in power positions in facets of life under great misconceptions.

If there was a women's prison show that I'd watch, I'd hope for something more like Oz

Did you really think anyone here was going to be into that show? I've found female shows are all basically soap operas in one form or another but in different settings.

Rarely are there any large issues explored, even if the series purports to be "about" prison, the wealthy, the olden days, etc. Usually it all comes down to gossip: "She said that he said that she said..."

See, I need to able to act like I know what I'm talking about if I'm going to argue over not having to sit through an episode

This show is essentially Urban "Lost" for Feminists. I enjoy watching it and it's funny but its pretty clearly feminist porn.

The main over the top parts that make me balk are the tranny who seems to be a normal, sensible woman (yeah fucking right), and the schlub guard with the mail order Russian bride who's an old 6 and a bitch. This is clearly sending the message "only a complete loser would want to marry a foreign girl, and if you are stupid enough to do so it's going to suck for you compared to us sweet american ladies" lol

Also the amount of nasty tits and saggy asses is getting to me. It's really a terrible show now I think if it... Not sure why I'm continuing to watch to be honest...

Watched a couple of episodes. Seemed like primarily the newest installment in the gay movement propaganda with a lot of butch dykes. Didn't watch after that.

Saw this thread.

Watched part of season 2, episode 1. The "grab your ankles" line of beauts almost made me heave.

Then when this mannish black bitch is taking a shit, making noises etc., in their cell ... I changed it.

There was one funny line in about 30-minutes. Not a good show at all.
