I agree with your post, mostly. But these crippled guys were a very bad example, because they will get sympathy from women and other people, they're seen as brave, courageous,
You honestly think these guys got carried through life on sympathy alone?
I'm not sure what to say to that...
Can you even begin to imagine the insecurities they faced entering the dating world to begin with?
The fact they get off the couch in the morning, let alone kill it in life the way they do, is a miracle of human adaptation and perseverance.

as if they signed up on a volunteer list to have their arms and legs removed.
You almost sound like you resent them here.

We get no sympathy at all from other people, just laughs and mockeries. We're not seen as brave for being bald, while in my opinion it's courageous for a man to go out of his house with a bald head in a society that's never been more superficial.
I respect a man with a bald head when I see he's still pulling ass and not letting it hold him back.

You'll see how you deal with it when you get there, but on the hair loss forums, we've heard it all before from guys with small recessions. "I'll just shave my head and move on with my life, you're all pathetic for caring!" Then they come back a few years later saying that their life is over and begging for solutions. Trust me, you just can't know beforehand.
You could say I've been there before. 3 or 4 years ago, I started waking up with a shitload of hair on my pillow and was losing it all around my apartment. My hair was falling out suddenly, and I assumed male pattern baldness. If I pulled on bunches of hair a little bit, some would come off in my hand.
I was bummed about it for a day or two. Then I walked down the street to the barber, told him to shave it off, and started growing a goatee.
Later on down the line, I grew my hair out again just to see if it was thinner, and it wasn't thin at all and wasn't falling out anymore. I imagine it was poor diet and stress, as it was a very difficult time of my life.
Point being that, yes, I do already know how I'd react.

My motto is, some hair is always better than no hair, that's why I went for a hair transplant.
From what I see around town, that motto is the downfall of a lot of guys who are going bald. But again, if the hair transplants are doing the trick, by all means, stick with it.

For some people, the cueball look is really a bad idea. It's not a good option for thin and pale people like me for example, I had to keep some of the hair on the sides to avoid the cancer comments.
Thin and pale? Like Neil Strauss was?
Hell, he embraced the cancer look - appears to plain BIC it now.
I really think it depends on what you do with the rest of your style - and perhaps more importantly, your game and personality. I'm sure some guys are just lost causes. That's life, I guess.
But most people can do something to improve their appearance. Hence the talk of lifting, etc.
You control what you can control.
