I use the chick stuff. John Frieda Foam hair color. The brown of my hair is kinda washed out looking and I'm getting lots of all white hairs. Just pick a color that's close to your natural color or maybe a shade lighter. It always comes out like 2 shades darker. I'm happy with the John Frieda stuff. It looks good.

Also it tends to dry your hair out somewhat. Get a good leave-in conditioner. Wash with just shampoo, towel dry and rub in some leave in cream conditioner and comb it through. It keeps it felling silky.

Get this stuff. It's great.

Parlay that stuff looks solid, how does it work out?

I was looking for something without ammonia, peroxide, or PPD.

I bought Cosamo Love your color and Clairol Nice and Easy* both are non-permanent and without chemicals. I will be trying the Cosamo first due to lots of high ratings and users having positive reactions.

*Nice and Easy non-permanent UK version - the US version has a bunch of chemicals.

My hair is pretty long. It's all the same length and down to my nipples. Around my temples it gets pretty grey. The foam covers pretty well. It comes out like brown soapy lather. I use the whole bottle then I comb it through to get good coverage. It costs like $10 on Amazon. I use the leave in cream conditioner to keep it comb-able and moisterized. John Frieda got good reviews on Amazon.

Do anybody else's greys grow faster than their darker hairs?

I've had grays since my early twenties, and they seem to grow twice as fast as my normal hair now, which really looks shitty if I don't clip it regularly. I've noticed something similar on one other guy a few years older than me though and he seemed to rock it okay without keeping it as tidy. I could just be overthinking it.

^ Update on an old thread.

Got my haircut a couple days ago in a Cambodian barber shop and said "fuck it, dye that shit."

I like it. I've already got a young face and personality, and it took some years off me. Halfway through the night a Vietnamese guy (no homo) dropped a compliment about my hair to my chick. I mean, I had it trimmed a little and threw some wax in for the first time in a while too, but still...

I'm not opposed to grey hair at all, but at 33, I feel like I'd rather look young young for a few more years before embracing the mature look. Same reason I stopped wearing the facial hair and and letting the baby face hang out. I figure I'll have plenty of decades to look aged, and I won't have the option to look youthful forever.

I don't feel like this comes from a place of insecurity though. I already know I can still get plenty of tail either way - it's just a matter of taking the option to style myself in this manner while I still can. Also, I think it'll blend better now that it's all dark and I won't have to keep up on it so much to combat the problem mentioned in my previous post.

So I have been clippering my head for the last few months to about a #2 to #4 clip to hide my gray hairs.

I have a good-shaped head for this cut, and no sign of a receding hairline, so people don't assume I'm doing it because of hair issues.

But I'm getting a little tired of it, and thinking of growing out my hair.

I tried using Just for Men, and it consistently makes my hair fall out. Not a lot, but enough that I am not putting that chemicals on my head.

Any suggestion of a good gray hair solution that you guys have used?

This is my solution.

Grow it long. Like a fucking hippy. Wear it loud, wear it proud. And if they don't like it, fuck them. Who wants to look like fucking Gerhard Shcroder?

I know it makes me look older. But for every ounce of looking older I lose, I gain an ounce of 'don't fuck with me', coz I been round the block. Sure, men and women take it differently, but I don't give a fuck about how any of them take it. What is important to me is that I remain true to myself.

I have a good hairdresser and can turn to black or rather brown in a hearbeat, but it is expensive and only for special occasions these days.

As you get older though, you can only push it so far until you look like Casey Kasem (god rest his soul - he wore it better than any one could).

It depends on your personality. Me. I like to be me. And fuck anyone else that don't like it. But to be fair, that is the only attitude to have coz people don't respect you if you are trying to impress.

Then again. I knew a guy with a massive wig. Everyone knew it was a wig. He never denied it. It would have been a bit hard. He wore that wig with pride. And women flocked to him. They all said 'Oh is it real'. And he would say 'No, baby, it's a wig!'. And they would swoon. Other guys would get jealous. He would get the girl. You can do anything when you have confidence. Or when you remain true to yourself.

So I'd go out with the guy with the obvious wig, as silly as it sounds, but he is just 'Peacocking'. And poor old little grey head me... eh eh. Silver Fox. Wise man of the North. etc. etc..

But I'm the last person to give advice really. I just realised I am going seriously thin on top, so it's baldness for me soon. I'll meet that head on too. Nothing hurts you when you are a handsome charismatic bastard with stories to tell. And a fiver in your pocket to buy the next round. After that, it's all hell..

eh eh.. :-)

Do what makes you happy. But did I mention this? Be true to yourself.

Above all else. Be true to yourself.

When I start getting grey hairs, I intend to rock them.

Can't be a silver fox without some silver.
