Living with a Bulgarian Woman - 6 month Update

I wonder what's in it for this girl - she's living in some boring UK village with a dude she does not love who does not plan to marry her.
If it's just for the money, how are you planning to hold on to her once she learns better English and gets a job - and then start looking elsewhere for what every traditional small-town EE girl is looking for: to see herself in that white dress and start a family.
You realize this 29yo girl has only a few short years before she hits the wall and she will be looking to capitalize on that, right? And I mean cash her chips in for something better than a room, meals, and few trips to the mall. Doesn't she think "when I'm 40 and this dude is tired of me, he's gonna trade me in for a younger, poorer girl and then I'm off back to where I came from, only I'm older and uglier?"

She'll definitely think that, and at 29 I'm surprised she's not pushed marriage.

No, she's not mentioned marriage yet but I expect it's something she will be looking for at somepoint. I'm divorced and 43 years old, getting married again offers me nothing.

So how's it's been going over the last 3 months, well we have certainly had some arguments and at times she has threatened to go back to Bulgaria. On one occasion I told her to go back, from which she then backed down.

For anyone not living with a woman, be under no illusions that living with a woman whether foreign or Anglo is "easy" because it's not. Women are women and you have to put in effort with them.

She has definitely got more westernised for sure and she does love living in the UK, but she still retains feminine charm, seldom drinks and does everything around the house. She chooses not to make English female friends, which is okay with me.

Just got back from 2 weeks holiday in Goa, India and if ever you need a reminder of how bad the English dating scene is, you only had to look at the number of slim attractive English men with fat unattractive women in the resort - it's really was bad.

Bulgaria seems to have a low marriage rate and a high divorce rate....which is pretty surprising for a country where women love putting themselves below their male partners. Any possible explanations for this?

An update by OP after 3-4 years would be interesting.

Maybe someone could PM him, from his last posts he was still with her in August 2015.

A friend of mine has a Romanian girlfriend. They can be difficult to live with - fiery nature.

Interesting thread and storyline by OP. Would love to know how it went on. Reflects many of the thoughts I've had about EE (especially Ukrainian) girls in the past years. K-mans post is excellent stuff in this regard. I feel that at age 32, I slowly become too old to FWB or mini-relationship EE girls between 18 and 25 (gets more and more of the "creepy old guy"-vibe in the past years since I'm not exactly fit or good-looking, plus these girls are simply too high-energy for my quiet and unhurried nature), and the girls above 25 do push for moving together, marriage and kids directly and fast. These girls surely don't wanna waste their last years before hitting the wall with being a Western guy's sex toy and cleaning lady only to find herself without reaching any of HER life goals, which always are kids and the wedding dress before age 30. As long as you don't wife them up or put a baby into their belly, you're the one who can get out of the relationship cheaply and quickly at any time, and they do realize this, which is why they push for the ring and/or a pregnancy.

Only EE girls who never gave me that shit about marriage and kids were the Czech ones. Don't know what's the point behind it. But I have the impression that Czech girls rarely want to leave their homecountry (much less than Polish, Russian, Ukrainian or Romanian chicks want to), because overall, standard of living seems to be on a quite good level in Czech Republic and Czechs seem happy in their country (which I can understand, because it is a really great, beautiful and laid-back country). Czech girls seem to have that unique mixture of being westernized and independent to a degree that they can be single or without kids/marriage happily (at least for some time), while being very openly to ONS, FWB etc without trying to attach any strings.

Many thanks to the OP for sharing.

It feels like there is no love in this, just a bit transactional.

Call me romantic, but I'd have to have feelz to go through the torture of living with a woman.
