Boat season has arrived in Michigan. It's suppose to be 80 and sunny this holiday season. I'll be headed to Sylvan lake for some boating, drinking, and all around debuachery. I hope to bring back some good information on the boating screen here and the potention DHV it brings. I know from last summer girls will drop whatever plans they have to come hang out on the lake.

By the end of the summer, I hope to have enough info to put forth a Michigan summer boating season datasheet.

I hope to get out to Lake Michigan, Hull Lake, possibly Jobby Nooner (excuse my spelling) and Grosse Ille.

Suggestions are always welcomed

Detroit has been named the bar city of the year. The Esquire article names like 15 bars to visit in the metro. My favorite Sugar House and The Oakland made it on the list.

Just got done with a weekend in Detroit. I will be focusing on Greektown

I stayed at the Westin Book Cadillac on Washington St. It's about a 10-12 min walk or 0.5 miles away from the Greektown area and about the same from the beginning of the riverfront area which starts near Cobo Hall. I had a free night otherwise I would of stayed at Greektown (220 a night) because of the casino and proximity to the popular bars/restos in downtown.

Women:
Wayne State University students tend to come to the area because of the close proximity. Black women will be the majority here for obvious reasons followed by white girls and then arabic women. You'll also get girls from Windsor and the surrounding cities in Canada. Canadian girls seem to be easier to get into bed as I ended up swooping a half black/half white girl from Windsor. Detroit may not be ATL but there is a def population of fine black women. One thing it excels in is the fact that black women here do not have the same uppity attitude as the ones in D.C. or ATL. This is also a great spot to find some Arabic women.

Transportation:
Once in Detroit most areas are within Walking distance but cabs and driving are necessary at night once outside the main areas. During the day its fairly safe to walk around and check out the sights..or use the people mover. Uber and Lyft would be your best bet as finding parking can be tough and you will be paying for it

Edit: Parking at Greektown or within another casino is a good idea as parking is free there.

Restaurants:
Fishbones seems to be the most popular resto here but there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. I ended up going to Red Smoke (BBQ join) for dinner.

Nightlife:
I ended up spending almost all my time at Greektown Casino playing blackjack. This is also where I met that girl from Windsor. I ended up get her to come with me to Ole Shellilegah (spelling sorry) for a bit before inviting her back for drinks..but its a 3 level bar with a rooftop. Each level plays different beats (live band, top 40, house) so you have somewhat of a choice.

Day activities:
I picked the wrong weekend to go as the Tigers were not playing then. You tend to get more white girls coming down then when the Tigers are at home. There was a festival called River days which brought in some good talent. Clear skies and warm weather brought out some fine women wth skimpy clothes. Perfect for those who enjoy some day game.

A good itinerary would be a festival during the day, lunch, a quick nap, then a Tiger's game (dinner before or after) and then hit up some bars/clubs.

Crime:
You're biggest issue will be all the idiot teenagers who can't get into the bars. So with nothing to do but walk around and harass girls. There were some problems this weekend but most of it was aimed at rival high schools more then anything. Just be smart and take a cab if you have to pass dark streets.

For those who don't know you can cross the border to Windsor if you want something "different" otherwise you can move over to Motor City or MGM.

Again..this weekend was spent losing some money at the casino so not much gaming.

I know of a couple of members who have PMed me about coming to Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. Depending on if the Tigers are playing this weekend I do plan on heading down there this upcoming weekend with more of my focus on the nightlife. Hopefully I will be able to add a bit mroe info.

Expect a sheet about boating sometime in the early fall. I"m still trying to get hooked up for Joobie Nooner (great event if you like drunk white girls) but it's not looking good for me.

I've been trying to get a friend or two of mine to take their boats to jobby nooner for a while. Michigan boating is deff a great thing bc generally only attractive women make it on boats. I'm usually out every weekend over here on the west side...perhaps I'll add a lil write up for over here.

Anyone going to torch lake for the 4th? I'll be there

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Hamtramck yet. There is some awesome Polish and Ukranian talent there (Not so easy) Lots of girls with Polish background come from the suburbs to hit the local supermarkets or attend events at the community halls too (More likely to be found if you wander around on Conant St). Then there all the hipsters that head to the bars (On and around Joseph Campau St shopping district and on the streets leading to Conant)

Notes:

1.It's more of a gritty and genuine area so nothing too fancy here.

2.It is a great place to walk around and go from bar to bar and if you get a place close by you can have amazing logistics for pulling back to your place.

3. Parking can be a little hard, there are lots of one way streets and parking meters but you can usually find something within a few blocks.

4. Occasionally there are some sketchy looking people around but I have never seen a situation where they are more than harmless.

Yeah I went there for a private rooftop party and saw the best collection of black girls I've ever seen while living here. Offers great views of the city and is a good time, but the particular time I went it was a special event, so I'm not sure when all the best nights are. Definitely worth checking out just for the ambiance and views alone.

That's why I live in Ferndale. Less competition from the gay dudes and the drugs are tolerated, or so I hear.

This week begins the building of the M-1 Rail here

This rail starts at new center and will end in the heart of downtown.

It is suppose to be finished in time for the new opening of arena for the Detroit Red Wings which opens in 2017.

Thoughts on the new M-1 rail?

Dream Cruise is this weekend. While this is considered one of the premier events in Metro Detroit, it makes traffic and logistics a nightmare along Woodward especially. Keep this in mind especially if you'll be in the Troy, Royal Oak, and Birmingham areas.

Haha dude, I haven't been to RO this whole summer because of the reasons you mentioned so I can only imagine when something like the Dream Cruise rolls around. In fact, I don't go out as much, unless a friend is having a birthday or something like that since its kind of a waste of energy doing nightlife around here in general. I'll list a few places that have been fairly solid though:

Sunday- Uptown in Commerce Township is usually money and packed up until 12:30-1 AM. $5 cover. Mostly Arab and White girls. Half off drinks until 12.

Tin Fish is also good I hear, but its way out in St. Clair Shores. There's actually huge party going on there tonight called Fantasy Island.

Wednesday- Mon Jin Lau gets really packed, but I believe you can skip the line(after 10) if you pay valet which is like $20. All types of girls and quite few dimes. Probably the best bet to cold approach high quality.

Friday- Duo on Friday is good and mostly Black girls, but you will catch other types in here as well. Nice lounge feel.

Mynt in the Novi Fountainwalk is OK if you like White girls. The ratios start out great at the beginning of the night, but get bad quickly after about 12. Super weak drinks and a cover though, $10 I recall.

Saturday- Level Two and 350 Terrace(Rooftop) are good options. Cover for 350 is like $20 bucks and I believe there is one for Level Two, but the people I was with got me in for free the night I went. Top 40s music and mostly Arab and White girls. Saw a few bad ones in both, so worth checking out, especially before the summer ends since the rooftop will close. Get there early as a line forms after 12.

There's a new spot called Greenhouse in Novi, that I also heard is good on Saturdays. Mostly Black people here.

Heard good things about PV Lounge, which is an upscale bar/lounge in Downtown Detroit.

I hear great things about Mon Jin Lau on Wednesdays.

Those are the type of places I will try to frequent more.

RO is just so close to me so I think that is the problem.

I stayed there for a night this summer to attend a festival. Nothing close but if you walk towards the casinos you will find bars and restos. It's a very well lit and poppin area.

For Black girls? 29 Park in Novi. For anything else, Uptown Grille in West Bloomfield.

Pretty cool rundown of all the Detroit metro neighborhoods. Here is a snippet of mine

Quote:Quote:

Ferndale
The only suburb outside of Detroit city limits that's "cool" to move to, that all of your judgey Detroit friends with their Midtown lofts and Corktown bartending jobs can agree is an acceptable -- nay, THE acceptable -- substitute for actually living IN the city. That said, there's a sacrifice people make by leaving Detroit's keep-it-realness for the fabulousness of Ferndale: the kind of tedious, self-important hipsterdom that comes with having money and approaching middle age but still trying to cling to that grittiness of one's youthful days in Detroit. In other words, you'll find an abundance of increasingly out of touch, "get off my organically fertilized lawn-slash-urban garden" types with elaborate facial hair and wool caps. Also, young mothers in flowery dresses who raise chickens in their backyards, sell handmade stationary on Etsy, and think it's totally okay to push through Imperial at 10pm on a Friday night with their baby strollers.
