Talking about these guys with a short fuse who seem to be constantly looking for someone to fight with. It's always over something minor like bumping into them but their behavior is so antisocial it's as if they'd like you to escalate it further.

Either way I don't think it's game you can win. There's always going to be someone stronger than you.

As a guy who used to be like the guy you are describing and sometime still is. It's a combination of things like tired of taking peoples crap for years and deciding not to take it anymore and yeah it becomes an ego thing plus girls like bad asses.

What incident made you post this? Why do you say there is always someone stronger? Sure there is but the point is not whether you win or lose but refuse to be dominated. I dunno some guys have insecurities, others get used to being treated a certain way and cant go back to an "inferior state". I guess there is some sort of entitlement to it.

People who get offended easily have self-esteem issues. When you’re on top of the world and feel really good about yourself, it’s very difficult to act maliciously toward others, especially over petty and insignificant things.

You also have to be a bit of a loser to stop your whole day just to get confrontational with others, and an insecure loser at that. MMA fighters don’t get into street fights very often. I also can’t imagine the Shaqs or Warren Buffets of the world getting homicidal because someone at a mall or night club looked at them funny.

The same goes for women. Happy women don’t act unnecessarily hurtful toward others. That’s why you shouldn’t pout as if society is ruined just because some miserable person was rude when you tried talking to her.

Men and women with similar levels of self-esteem and maturity tend to attract one another. It’s up to you what kind of man you want to be and what kinds of women you want to attract. There are many more cool, decent people out there than confrontational jerks, so don’t let the negativity of the haters consume you.

I don't even see the point of trying to start fights in places where people are just trying to have a good time, drink some alcohol, maybe swoop a sloot. I've never seen any of the local night life tough guys at the MMA gym. I wonder why?

^^^^This. Life, in its most primal form, is meant to be rather brutish. It's a balancing act that everyone has to decide for himself. How "alpha" do you want to be? There are some real alpha dudes in gangs, but they are just a drive-by away from it ending quickly. Prisons are full of very masculine dudes, but they're living behind bars the rest of their lives.They are very prone to lash out at even a hint of disrespect. In essence, unless you want your life to resemble life in San Quentin where you're looking over your shoulder every minute, you might have to let the occasional small slight just slide. As Chris Rock said, "if someone steps on your shoe, let it slide. Why spend the rest of your life in prison because someone smudged your Puma".

I think many, if not all, dudes have that invincible feeling until some events takes it away from them. People who get into adulthood still with it usually get into the worse trouble. Comes to mind a jiujitsu teacher who lived on my street when I was a kid. Big guy, well trained, well know for starting shit for any trivial reason, eventually he was shot and killed... I dont think he was any older than 25.

The War Machines and Diaz Brothers are the exceptions. You can see the Diaz bros getting into scraps on the street, yet I could never imagine someone like Fedor Emelianenko or Junior Dos Santos starting shit on the street for no reason. You can always tell the posers in these threads. "A real man walks away," etc.

Like I've often said, go to Huntington Beach or San Diego or Vegas and talk shit. Look for guys with crooked noses or cauliflower ears to see if they are going to walk away because of some martial arts code or whatever.

Knowing how to fight isn't what stops most guys. It's the legal consequences. THe more you have to loser (which when you get older can be a lot), the less likely you'll fight. When you're young and have a negative net worth, oh well, let the guy sue you. (Though of course you gotta worry about getting arrested.)

I don't know why guys just can't say, "Look, I've never been in a real fight and have never trained to fight."

I don't go post in car threads talking about what it's like to drive a Maserati. Never done it so I have no opinion.

Most adult men have never been in an actual fight. That is my view is generally a good thing. The world needs more art museums and beautiful women and less violence.

I'd much rather live in pussified France than Somalia.

But guys gotta stop fronting like they've done something or have gained some inside knowledge from their vast experience on the streets.

I agree with what you are saying, but in my limited experience it seems that most guys who try to pick fights for no reason are sexually frustrated. I've noticed that I am more confrontational as well when I am in a dry spell vs. getting laid regularly. A lot of guys I know who don't get laid very often are the ones who start shit in a bar over something stupid.

You don't have to agree with me, but this is just my theory based on first hand experiences.

Some bars I don't like going to because all the redneck shitheads think they're Clint Eastwood. They try to talk tough and front hard to strangers. In reality they're all just skinny fat farm boys who think that doing things like smoking cigarettes, chewing tobacco, having hands always dirty with grease, and knowing the difference between a muffler and a carburetor makes them badasses. They have enormous (fragile) egos for guys that make ten bucks an hour as a mechanic's assistant. My guess is that they are confrontational because they're losers who desperately try to prove that they're top dogs, nothing more.

I've never gotten into a fight with any of them because even if it was one-on-one and you beat their asses, they'll get four of their friends together and slash your new truck tires, kill your dog, or steal your tractor and drive it into a lake. The only fights I ever got into were in fourth grade to tenth grade and I lost half of them.
