Dave Letterman has been the target of a lot of nasty shit. If I recall that wasn't the first serious blackmail attempt made against him, more like the third or fourth. There's also been plots to kidnap his family members for ransom, etc.

Being a big celebrity always opens you up to attacks like that but it seems like Dave has gotten way more than his fair share for whatever reason.

Dave had a pretty infamous stalker, who in her own mind was his wife or something. I believe she broke into his house, or tried to. I gave him props for admitting on the air that he banged a staffer on the show - he took the lead on it, didn't hide, and was better for it. In the end, people really don't care that much. The fems will make some noise, but when they see it doesn't accomplish anything they shut up.

Yeah, that's what I noticed, I mean I never(and probably most people as well) have never heard of that stuff with Letterman.

Of course if you look at the comments on that youtube video, you'd think that he's hated etc. . .but it even goes to show you that with all the power the internet "has" real life has a lot more power than the internet could ever bring to the table.

Because he does his show here, and lives in Connecticut I believe, his issues were front page news in NYC. I think the stalker's name was Margaret Ray, and she was obsessed with him. The one chick he DIDN'T bang was the biggest problem of all...hahaha! She ended up committing suicide...
