Fiji

Going to be living here for an extended period of time. I've got all the big issues covered, accommodation, work etc.

What I'm really interested in is the nightlife and all the associated areas i.e. women and if there's anything specific that needs to be known before gaming them.

I've been once as a young kid, and know that most of the locals are of Indian or African descent, but from memory the resorts had a lot of white women.

Any advice/knowledge greatly appreciated.

I have never been, but I have had two Fijian girlfriends in the past.

One was Indian descent, the other Chinese descent. Both came from money, and were really great girls.

The Fijian Chinese girl was especially sexy. Islanders have a really good demeanor about them, something that is just nice to be around.

Oh, and fun families.

Is not Fiji the place where people hide their money?

If all goes to plan I'll be working as a mountain bike guide. Hopefully get scuba qualified while I'm out there too, as it's another string to the bow.

Most locals of African decent?

Ehh? There's virtually zero there.

The largest ethnic group are Melanesian, or indigenous Fijians, followed by ethnic Indians, brought there by the British over the past century as Fiji was a British colony/protectorate.

There is a sprinkling of Caucasians of NZ and Australian heritage, and a growing Chinese presence due to commercial investment.

Currently Indians hold a lot of commercial power, and it often causes resentment in the indigenous Melanesians, and every 15 years or so there is a military coup to redistribute money back to the Melanesians.

Fiji is a place where such things occur, but hardly the place.

Fiji is more famous for its bottled water and for it's ironically turbulent politics than for being a tax haven; there were coups in 1987, 2000, 2006 and then the Consitution was suspended in 2009.

Places more synonymous with the hiding of money, ill-gotten or otherwise, would likely be the Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Bermuda, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Fiji

Just a mini update.

In early November, I spent about 2 weeks in Australia so I decided to take a few days to spend time in Fiji. I ended up deciding to go to the Yasawa Islands since it seemed to be good for backpacking girls and relaxing. I was originally going to visit Samoa but I ended up finding a RT ticket for about 350 from Brisbane to Nadi so I went with that.

Nothing big to report as I mostly spent my time hitting on single girls and chilling but...

-You have two options to getting to Yasawa. Either paying for a sea plane (expensive) or paying for the Yasawa flyer which is cheaper but only runs to the Islands from the port in the early morning then returns backs in the evening. This means you have only one chance a day to get there unless you want to pay for a sea plane. I couldn't find a single flight out that would get me there early morning so I spent that day at a dorm in the coral coast.

-I stayed at the Mantaray resort on Yasawa in a tree house bure (double room)which was about 100 a night. For the meal plan I paid about (not included in room rate) 50 a night. Includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The spread was actually pretty good IMO. If you want snacks or booze then you must by them yourself separately. This brings me to my biggest point...before you go to the Islands its a must that you either get booze duty free or ate on the of the stores. Buying snacks and water from the main island is a good idea as well. Booze and snacks can really add up.

-Make sure you know which resort is geared towards families or backpackers. Quite easy to get laid if you pick the right resort.

-Drink some Kava root! If you're at a major resort then you're good. If you go to a bar then just be careful its legit. Drink it on an empty stomach as well and enjoy

If you have any other questions then feel free to ask.

You mentioned getting laid. How was the talent, both local and tourists?

I can't imagine any backpackers there since it might be out of their price range.

Mostly Australian and New Zealanders. The locals at the resorts were cute but didn't try. I heard that Suva (capital) in the interior, is better for local pickups. Even the resorts on the main island would be better. There's bars and clubs that would be good for nightlife pickup

It's actually not that expensive there compared to other island vacations outside of Asia. I found Samoa to be the cheapest, then Fiji while the price took a huge jump with New Caledonia.

Maybe 100 a day for all in budget backpackers. I believe that price keepers away the dirt bags and brings in better talent. Not saying there's a bunch of 8s and 9s there but at least they aren't trash

Don't go there to get laid but to relax and do some diving.

Well, I want to say that Fiji and Maldives with Bora bora are the top best place where we can enjoy the staying in its beautiful resorts with love. I have also done my best time with my friends in Fiji. I would love to go for enjoying my summer in next time visiting islands vacations outside of California.
