I was only there two days, but I really liked the park where people surfed. That was really cool. Really only stayed in the touristy areas but I liked the walkability, the fact that it was a university town and the vibrant amount of younger people and relaxed drinking.

I did get a feeling overall in Germany that they do not really party as hard as Spain/Italy though and that people were a little more responsible and things closed earlier. I didn't get a chance to go out much at all, but I hope to change that next year.

OK, so I'm here on the ground, checked out the Wiesn (Oktoberfest) yesterday. Jesus, what a shit-show! I was with some international students and as we know traveling girls are like roided-sluts, so they were pretty aggressive. I got my Italian flag and somehow managed to talk her into becoming my slave so a lot of weird shit went down for a first bang, but it was fun. I was trucked.

It seems to me that the Bavarian girls here will give you eye contact if they want you to approach and they are all wearing dirndls, so a good way to escalate would be to ask them to take off their panties (assuming you've got past the attraction phase, you can skip directly to seduce) and hand them to you under the table - I think I saw that in some movie with one of the Baldwin brothers. Play a cool, cosmopolitan, down-to-Earth American (not the stereotypical, obnoxious loudmouth) and I'm sure you'll be golden. I'll probably check it out again tonight.

Still haven't found accommodation although I have a viewing coming up. Right now I'm following WG-gesucht closely and writing emails as soon as the ad goes up.

Finally got a place! It's located on a Schellingstrasse, very close to the university and many good-looking bars. It's not furnished, so I will have to buy some stuff that can be easily sold again, since I'm here for just 4 months. It's expensive as fuck - €700/month.

Will be reading these but also looking at houzz.com to get some ideas for how to decorate. Am starting from scratch. Tips welcome!

Perfect spot mate. Good score. Friends of mine live on Schellingstr. You'll be golden for logistics. Price is normal. Don't buy any furniture new. You should be able to pick up everything you need secondhand. Look in kurzfundig.de. Available as a hard copy too. There is a shop called kommbar too in Hoffmannstr.

I recommend you hit up the following in addition to your area: Maxvorstadt, Sonnenstrasse, Gaertnerplatz, Blumenstrasse. All are within a short taxi ride of your place and have plenty of small bars but you need to be picky. Good luck enjoy.

Will be in 'Minge' in December.

Went out last night to the bars on Schellingstr. and nearby... total sausage fest. Soda was packed with cute girls, but everyone was sitting down in groups around round tables. My roomies are real beer sponges.

Look forward to your arrival, P... we'll grab a brewski

So I just went to P1 last night for the BWL/VWL intro party.

Oh. My. God. were there a lot of cute girls. Let's ignore for a second that it was still basically a sausage fest... I'd say 60/40 ratio. Roughly 90 percent of the girls there were bangable, and probably about a third were very attractive. I got a lot of good responses to being an American. Unfortunately, I was quite ill, had little energy, and dressed poorly since I wasn't expecting it to be a big deal. It was. Played classic "ignore her" game with a Spanish girl who started jumping up and down to get my attention, and assuaged my poor showing by getting a freshman's number that will probably go nowhere. Sad, I know.

Here's a gallery from one of the other nights:

Was talking to a couple of female law students who told me it wasn't even the best place in Munich. How about that?

Still feel like a bag of ass today, but if last night was par for the course in Munich, then I really need to start thinking about how I'm gonna afford it, lol. I went bouldering the other day and have kinda made it a goal to get big this fall, so this isn't good for wallet or health. Not a good start!
