Five Reasons to Be a Feminist Man

A female friend of mine posted his on facebook, Interesting read, makes me shake my head with what's going on. The comments are pretty good.

http://www.bluethenation.com/2013/06/15/...inist-man/

"Did you know that if a woman says no the first time and then says yes later after you apply some form of pressure, you’ve just become a rapist? Again, chances are good that you didn’t."

Like terrorism, it seems like the term rape is being watered down so much that it loses all meaning. When "some form of pressure" equates being left unconscious and bloodied in an alley after getting violated, everyone loses.

Some 5 who I didn't really like but knew for a long time and was in love with me put pressure on me after I initially said no. I guess I was raped too.

The irony of that site. I know when they say "Blue the Nation" they're talking about liberalism, but instead they are Blue Pilling The Nation. I guess its real "liberal" to make men sit down and pee and real "liberal" to ban pornography (http://www.economist.com/blogs/economist...ornography) or charge men for soliciting prostitutes but not arrest women for prostitution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Sweden).

That's so much drivel that I am at a loss for words. The argument that "feminism = equal rights and thus anyone opposing it is immoral" is a special kind of bullshit. The last time feminism had anything to do with equal rights was probably the 60s.

What is this shit?

Quote:Quote:

Let me make this clear: I’m a dude. I say “bro” a lot, only about 60% ironically. I have broad shoulders and a beard. I go to a lot of sports games. I drink crappy beer and crappier liquor, and I have zero interest in wine. I eat red meat way more frequently than is healthy. I think shooting guns can be fun. I probably have some allergies that I just ignore because I don’t notice them. I don’t wash a single dish until I am completely out of usable clean dishes. I love playing pool, I love playing cards, I love playing dice. I’m a dude. Almost cartoonishly so at times.

This quote is funny to me because he is trying to reassure his failing masculinity by stating all of the "bro" things he does.

Quote:Quote:

You shouldn’t be a feminist because you want to protect your womenfolk, or because you think it’ll get you laid. You should be a feminist because you should fucking be a feminist.

You'll notice this kind of foul-mouthed, expletive-powered, condescending language is ubiquitous among feminists. While feminists condemn the use of disparaging language and pejoratives against women they seem only able to fight the good fight for equality by deploying such shaming and ostracizing rhetoric against men.

Also they exhibit a lack of seriousness. Imagine this statement during the 60's: "You should be for civil rights because you should fucking be for civil rights." Or how about this before or during the Civil War: "You should be an abolitionist because you should fucking be an abolitionist." It sounds retarded right?

Five Reasons to Be a Feminist Man

reading jonathannathan comments underneath the article made me want to kill myself

so basically this guy claims that:
- trying to pick up a woman at a bar without trying to get to know her first contributes to a culture of oppression
- he has no idea why women dress the way they do when they go out to clubs but asking them is the best way to find out.
- if he was to guess, he'd say women dress in miniskirts with their tits out in order 'to look good or for other women'
- guys frequently walk up to girls in public trying to get laid.
- it's dehumanising to attempt to pick up a woman without asking what she thinks about the economy, popular music, cinema, the war, sports, etc

Quote:Quote:

2) "You didn't say that; you merely implied it when you said that that you are an "oppressor" if you try to pick up a woman at a bar without trying to get to know her first."--Actually, I said you contribute to a culture of oppression.

3) "Often times, they will say that they like to dress that way because it makes them "feel good about themselves". Yet, why does it make them feel good about themselves to dress that way?"--I don't know, maybe you should ask them.

4) "I don't think that I'm stretching when I say that it is because they want to be attractive for the opposite gender."--On the other hand, jumping to your own conclusions is probably easier than asking them. Not for nothing, but if you ever do ask them, don't be shocked if they tell you they just like to look good, or that they dress more for other women than for men.

5) "Well of course. Rarely does any guy simply walk up to a girl in public and try to get laid"--I'm sure most of the women I know would love to move to this wonderful planet you live on, where women don't get hit on constantly.

6) "He may ask for her number or ask her out on a date."--Do you not realize what this says? "Hi there. I know absolutely nothing about you. I don't know what your voice sounds like. I don't know what you think about the economy, popular music, cinema, the war, sports, or anything else. What I do know is that you make my penis happy. Will you go out on a date with me?" Yeah, that's gonna make a girl feel humanized.

this guy is a BETA WARLORD!

claims:
it's disheartening that guys get upset about being friendzoned. them getting upset about it means it takes him three times as long to become friends with a woman.

he's deliberately trying to enter the friendzone! WTF!

Quote:Quote:

"Finally we get to the "friend zone" issue. It is in no way oppressing women by being upset about the "friend zone". When you approach someone with romantic intent and you are rebuffed it is disheartening."--You know what else is disheartening? The feeling--which most women have--that the vast majority of men who try to get to know them have absolutely no interest in knowing them as friends and only want to fuck them. THAT is disheartening. You know what else is disheartening? The knowledge that it's going to take me three times as long to develop a strong personal friendship with a woman because the entire time, she's waiting for the other shoe to drop, expecting me to try to make a move, so she has to keep me at arm's length that much longer. That is fucking disheartening.

"This is the reason that more feminist men equals fewer women getting raped. Quite a few of those rapists who were acquainted with their victims didn’t even realize they were committing the crime. Did you know that if a woman is significantly more intoxicated than you are, and you have sex with her, there’s a very good chance you’ve just become a rapist? If you’re like the majority of men in this country (any country, really), you didn’t. Did you know that if a woman says no the first time and then says yes later after you apply some form of pressure, you’ve just become a rapist? Again, chances are good that you didn’t."

His only valid point is if you bring a girl home who is so wasted she doesnt know whats going on or passed out, its rape. Fine, agreed. Saying no, then saying yes, is rape? Fuck this guy. Most men dont even realize they rape the victim? Are you fucking kidding me?

Again, Id like to see what a women whose been actually raped has to say about this. I guarentee that she never said "yes", and that the rapist knew exactly what crime he was committing.

Maybe this guy is rationalizing years of being friendzoned while guys "rape" the girls he likes?

It's dumb shit like this that makes reading books like Donovan's "The Way of Men" worthwhile - because he presents the idea that being a good man and being good at being a man are two completely different concepts, and that masculinity is amoral.

It also makes me want to find more feminists in real life to troll. I've been developing some new angles like "If you don't blame her for her actions even if it may constitute 'slut-shaming', then you've objectified her and have reduced her agency to that of a child"; "If there's no such thing as 'gray rape' then you've turned the entirety of mankind into rapists and soon-to-be rapists while marginalizing the experiences of people who were violently raped" ; "If you have to turn to Jezebel to find feminist talking points then your beliefs are rooted in delusion and you're not anything close to an actual feminist" ; and some really fun paranoia-fuel like "Male and female 'micro-aggressors' (also known as MAs) often adopt feminism to present the appearance of egalitarianism while subversively promoting their racist and homophobic agendas, which is why those we must be most critical of are our supporters" - shit like that.

Five Reasons to Be a Feminist Man

Quote:Quote:

1) There is absolutely no moral argument against feminism. Not one.

This is, of course, the most important one. Feminism is the simple belief that folks should have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else, free of fabricated and unnecessary barriers, without constantly fearing for their safety, regardless of gender. If you have an argument that runs counter to that, then fuck you. You’re a bad person. If you do not have an argument that runs counter to that, then congratulations. You already agree with feminists on the most fundamental tenet of the ideology.

This is typical feminist bullshit. Compound strawman/ad hominem fallacy.

1) Preclude reasonable protest by describing feminism as its purely virtuous dictionary description (create strawman).
2) Conflate disagreement with feminism as disagreement with strawman.
3) Attack

Not only that but even the dictionary description doesn't serve her interests. Most MRAs agree with the dictionary description in this case, but believe that men are the ones having their rights violated. In other words this feminist dullard is holding MRAs to their own standard and then attacking them for it.

Quote:Quote:

Now just get your behavior in line with that belief and we’ll all be fine.

LOL

Quote:Quote:

5) Oppression doesn’t end until the oppressor stops oppressing.

Cultural marxist nonsense. Sufficient in itself to reject the entire article.

If you play with fire enough, you get burned. If these men think they can play up to angry feminists without getting in their cross-hairs, they're wrong.

I saw this happen in college: well-meaning guys would befriend or date feminists, trying to get on their good sides, only to get screwed in some way. Actual examples: one guy got "accused" of using politically incorrect language in the newspaper and fired; another got dumped and shamed in public for his alleged sexual inadequacy; a third was blindsided when the feminist's Alpha Male came back and she instantly threw him out.

What such men don't realize is that while the primary socio-sexual relationship straight men have is with women, the primary relationship such women have is with each other. In a way, these women are developmentally disabled and have never gotten past the "boys are icky" mentality of second grade. They neither want or need you, despite what they say. They want to see you dance like a puppet and hung out to dry, just like the second grade girls wanted to see you get in trouble when they played tattle-tale.

So let these "Blue Boys" (hehe) try to curry favor with feminists by making pages like this. They'll get body-slammed like my college friends did and come crying to these parts when they find themselves Googling "false rape charges lawyer" or some such thing.

Addendum: it would be funny to troll that page by pretending you're a feminist and accusing the guys who put it together of being paternalistic and "rapey" by sticking their noses into women's issues. Or by pushing the feminist ideas so far that the so-called well-meaning men lose patience and reveal themselves. I saw someone on here do this recently on the below link and it was hilarious. Look for "Sarah Jane."

Gallup recently did a poll where there current Congress got the lowest approval rating of any institution included in the Gallup poll, ever. That same Congress is the author's chosen example of women doing "a really good job."

I remember a long time ago an old saying "Judge me and you negate me". This to my mind doesn't mean that you should not judge others, but that you should judge them accurately. These days, nearly every man in the western world will be accused of being a rapist at some point, the good the bad it simply won't matter. Some will just say fuck it, if I'm going to be labeled a rapist so nonchalantly then there's no point to holding my end of the social contract, I'll do what I want because the dignified behavior I exhibited for 15-30+ years simply didn't matter. That is the conclusion that many young men will begin to reach. And for no other reason then because an accusation of something always puts the burden of proof on the person who is accused, suddenly the accused is not only in a position of having to refute the accusation but also with proving that he is falsely accused along with all the energy and effort that that entails. It's a complete double bind. And western women want to throw these accusations on western most men? Who are the actual abusers here? This is why I expect that this watering down of the term rape will lead to women not being taken seriously. You can only cry wolf so many times before nobody listens. And that is when the real danger will come, and many won't care anymore because why protect silly people?

Ryan Gossling probably endorses those photos.

He had an interview a while back talking about how his mind thinks the same as a woman, and how he was raised by his mother and his sister.

Also has an interview talking about how he doesn't do heavy strength training, and thinks gymnastics and ballet are better ways to build "functional muscle", or some other homo shit like that.

He is potentially just pandering to his demographic (teen girls and fat, middle aged housewives) but I can't imagine Arnold saying gay shit like that back in his prime.

I still suspect he's trolling.

There is always motive behind anything a actor says on the record in public.

Even his book cover looks like a joke. I get the vibe he's trolling evreybody for a laugh and a paycheck.
