My best friend wants to marry a girl I can't stand

There's tons of advice out there on how to get a girl. And you know what: that's the easy part.

Let's talk about some advanced game. How to get rid of another guy's girl? What can I do to prevent my best friend from making a huge mistake?

The background:

My friend, we'll call him Gui, has the following characteristics:

- Good breeding from a solid family.
- Beta male who has been smartening up to game (through me), but you would still consider him a herb.
- An intellectual.

He's slept with maybe 1 girl before his current girlfriend.

Now, his girlfriend, we'll call her Nicole, has the following characteristics:

- Shaky family upbringing. Father became an alcoholic before he lost his job and money. Parents divorced when she was in college (she was around 20 when it happened).
- She's very much an amazonian alpha, but not completely.
- Mother appears to be a gold digger; she only dates rich men.
- She's needy and high-maintenance.
- Very close to her mother.
- Status-whore.
- Easily insulted. Low self-confidence, but puts on lots of bravado.
- Modeled for a bit (between years 18-21) in some big cities like NY and Paris, used to being treated like royalty.
- Looks wise, she was an 8 out of 10 (at 18-21) but she's now 25 and has become a 7.5. She's 5'11''.

These two met in French class. She took a liking to him, and asked him out for coffee (as he was too herb to ask, and she was alpha enough to approach). It was pure luck and, given that her beauty is far above what he would normally pull through his game, he fell in love.

They broke up for about 11 months when she went abroad to Paris. He told me he dumped her, she told me she dumped him. No idea what happened.

They got back together through me. I one day bumped into Nicole at my University's Library, when both myself and Gui were studying. I told her, "Hey Nicole... Gui is right down there!" She texted him, and he immediately marched out to meet her for coffee. He started dating her again, but things weren't going too well.

This was back when I was still learning some basic game, and I told him that, if he followed my exact instructions, I may be able to get her to like him more. I told him what to do, every step of the way in terms of

- When to call
- What to talk about
- To make sure he dated another girl (for jealousy)

And everything worked like a charm. She fell madly in love with him, even to the point where she once ran out of a bar crying hysterically because a girl came up to him and started talking to him. That's how much in love she was (also, she's needy, but I already told you that).

At first, I was really happy to help my friend out. But it's been almost two years since then, and now he told me he wants to marry this girl. He doesn't see her flaws like I do, and I believe this girl will fucking wreck him because of her domineering personality. This combined with the current divorce laws, and you know the rest.

I've told him "Dude, you know the divorce laws are evil, right?" And he just says to me "Yea but she wants a prenup!"

He looks fully prepared to go through with this. I've managed to buy myself some time, and told him... "Look, you can marry her if you want, it's your life man... but please, do NOT get married until you've got some sort of salary. Cause you know kids will be rolling in a year or two after marriage."

But in reality, I don't think he should marry this girl, she's too risky, she's the type who "always gets what she wants", doesn't compromise, isn't too giving. Low flexibility, plus high-maintenance means she's probably a bad deal in the long run.

I'm sure Gui doesn't see it like I do, because this is the hottest girl he's ever bagged (and only his first or second girl), meanwhile he tells me the sex is amazing, etc. They also have a lot in common, as they are both French-American, which makes their bond very strong.

Nicole, meanwhile, has become more aggressive towards me, shit-testing me constantly whenever I'm over his house to hang out with Gui, probably because her female sixth-sense sees my player ways as a threat to her budding marriage. She's obviously hell-bent on marriage, and is doing everything she can to get into the good graces of Gui's entire family. The endless shit-testing just pisses me off (although it's good practice, I must admit) to the point where I want to end their relationship. I realize what kind of a cunt she can be, and Gui does not realize how she treats me could be how she treats him a few years.

It's not that I don't like this girl... she can actually be quite enjoyable, in low doses. But I think marriage to her is a likely mistake. If he does marry her, it will end in a bitter divorce, with kids, because she doesn't look like the type who can be happy for long.

Personally, I think I should go back in time and kick myself for helping Gui score her again, because there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to prevent an untimely marriage & divorce. Your thoughts? Any suggestions? I'm willing to do (almost) anything.

Getting in between them is only likely to turn both of them against you

You can only help him end it if its what he wants

Short of hiring a private detective to dig dirt on the girl I dont know what you could do

yeah: save your energy and worry about yourself.
unless you want to marry him. or her...
seriously, at some point it's best to give up on trying to solve a friend's problems and worry about your own

I'm not really putting too much effort into this. But I'll still try to help if I can.

Here's an idea.

Any of the esteemed swoopers on this board live somewhere around New England? Maybe someone could swoop her, get some good evidence of it, and then give it to me?

Samseau, you sound very Samoan. Is this true?

Everyone needs a really good friend to try and talk them out of marriage.

If your best friend can't talk you out of it, maybe it is meant to be.

My uncle told me he tried to talk my dad out of marrying my mom, even though my uncle thought my mom was perfect. He just felt it was his duty to make sure my dad was really into it.

Good friends are hard to come by. If your buddy is happy, he's not gonna walk out on you if you have a man-to-man talk with him. You will piss him off to the point you guys never talk again if you do something shady and he catches you.

Aloha!

My number 1...(star trek NG-shit cracks me up when I say it with the Jean Luc accent)..anyways dude married a 9 who was the total opposite of him. But she was fly...anyways, they get married, have 2 kids and in 6 years they crash and burn. I saw this like a prophet 7 years prior. But did I tell him that? Nope, wasn't my place and it was disrespectful. Let em ruin themselves...It's just better for everybody and it's good experience. Cat tells me over the phone he's getting a divorce...I said I know, I had you pegged at one year...total silence. He was like "it was that obvious?"..I was like "yep"...

Nature right, nature does the same thing. A forest will catch on fire and burn everything we hold to have value and beauty. But in the end it has to happen for rebirth and creation. Okay thats some gay shit to type but you get what i'm saying...pain/failure/mistakes/rebirth/renew/learning/key takeaways is part of life...you ain't living if you ain't going through it...

Your friend is his own man. Every man deserves the freedom to make their own decisions and live with the consequences. I don't support you using game to try and do for your friend what your friend should do for himself. Maybe he needs to be fucked over by some slut he marries just so that he will wake up and be a man.

im gonna have to disagree with the last few posters. it is his life but ur are still his best friend. people can be blinded by the truth and reality when they are in love and disregard all kinds of red flags. u should def give him ur honest opinion, but respect his choice no matter if it is what u wanted or not.

and btw i see nothing wrong with using game to test her.

Depends on how Machiavellian you fancy yourself. I've done some quasi-PSYOPS stuff when the stakes were stratospherically high. But you said you don't want to put in much effort.

Best you can do, as others have said, is to state your opinion as clearly as possible and hope for the best.

Heh, I posted something similar to this when I first joined this board, and my friend is still with that girl.

He has; however, restored my faith that he may one day dump her, stating "I'd be just as happy with or without her, really doesn't matter." but then when she's around they'll say crap like they want to get married in 2012.

So far, the best thing has been to get him away from her and out to the bar. This may not work for long, as she's losing her present job and will be able to follow us, but at the moment it works great, because he'll talk to other girls and sees me having fun hanging out with other girls, and I think it has opened his eyes. Why don't you try that? If your friend sees more options, he might find one he likes better.

He won't even go out to bars with me. I've had him outside of a bar once, asked him to go inside with me for a bit, and he refused, claiming "They're all worthless whores anyways."

I'm pretty sure his girlfriend has the hand of the relationship, but he's got the ability to provide for her. That's why she values him. Like I said, he's a beta provider male. This is why I fear for him, because the girl he is dating has an evil side to her that may be using him for other ends.

Keep in mind, a large part of me has given up all hope for him, but then I see how tyrannical the divorce laws are, and how much worse they are becoming. The girl he is dating is the type who "doesn't lose".

Nah, samseau's just an alias, parts of my real name mixed with one of my favorite philosopher.

It's not that I doubt HIS sincerity to marry, it's that I do NOT trust the girl he's dating.

I don't think it would be tough to stay married to the same woman. Most of the time, it's the woman who changes and becomes a bitch and ruins the marriage. The vast majority of men are simple creatures who can be happy with a simple life and one woman.

The girl he's dating is putting on her best act... and all I can say, she's still a domineering bitch half of the time. Can you imagine what she'll be like in marriage?

So far, he's at least convinced to co-habit with her before marriage... a good thing, since that supposedly kills relationships faster than anything else.

Yep.

My best friend wants to marry a girl I can't stand

Read the title of this thread which took me back two weeks to when a friend of mine told me he's marrying a girl who i can't stand

in the beginning i shared your sentiment: this guy is making a huge mistake, she'll make him miserable, I have to do smth..

after thinking about it for a while though, i began to realise that there is a reason why my friend is marrying this girl; perhaps on some level he enjoys being controlled, treated badly by girls etc. and that even if he were to meet a nice/attractive/normal girl he would never like her because that's not what he's looking for, be it conscioulsy or subconsciously

i don't know your friend but don't you think there is a chance that even if he doesn't marry this girl and breaks up with her, he'll soon start going out with a similar girl who's also gonna be walking over him?!

Hey my advise is save your friendship let him do what he thinks is right. If you intervine you will only come out of it looking bad. Go with the flow. Eidoos77. [Image: dodgy.gif][Image: heart.gif][Image: dodgy.gif]

I don´t agree with this. The guy is unexperienced with girls. This means he can´t tell good from bad yet. So he thinks that bad is good, because he haven´t tasted good. It´s kinda like wines, the more you understand from wines by drinking them, the more you can tell the difference between good and bad. The problem is that good wines are rare (but this is another story).

There´s not much you can do. The slut is probably making an extra effort for sealing the deal. Anyway she will slip, and when she does tell your friend exactly what you think of her. It´s your duty to tell him your opinion before he marries.

My best friend before getting married, was dating this crazy bitch. I talked with him and pointed out concrete examples why the girl he was seing was a slut. Of course he got angry with me. But after 5 months with her he realised what was obvious.
Before marrying with his now wife he told me he had doubts. I told him that if he wouldn´t marry this girl he would regret it.
Now his hapilly married with a great girl (that doesn´t walk all over him) and expecting a baby. I have free dinners at his place.

Two months ago I was going out with a slut and even with my litle experience I was blinded because she was hot and funny. He sat down with me and told me: Dude that bitch is a slut because.... I also got angry with him. Anyways after two months guess what he was right the bitch was a psyco. I only regret not following his advice with the prior girl I was seeing. I should have stick with her.
