Definitely. This is a cornerstone of my game. If you get people to talk about themselves and their thoughts, then you have to put in very little conversation work and they will enjoy themselves anyway. People will give away a lot of important information--what excites them, what bothers them, how they want to be percieved--if you get them talking long enough.

I've been wanting to talk about this so I'll talk about it here.

A dinner date is the perfect date for American women. Here's why:

For one, it's something your standard American has done many times before, so she'll feel comfortable taking up the idea of getting dinner. Also, as we all know American women like food. Essentially, it's the kind of date that an American woman would be hard pressed to decline.

In order to ensure the success of the date you have to do a couple of specific things. The restaurant has to be walk able distance from where you live (ideally less than five min). When going to sit down, make sure that you sit on bench seating. This is so you can sit directly next to her. The bench seating makes it easier for you to touch her on the leg while you are having dinner. Make sure you order a smaller meal in order to pressure her into ordering a smaller one herself, so she doesn't end up eating to much. On top of this, when the waiter asks if you want drinks get something with alcohol in it and make it seem like it would be weird if she didn't get a drink with alchohol in it. After all it is normal to get drinks with dinner.

Dinner should take an hour and a half to two hours because of all the interesting conversation you will be having. After dinner, say "Let's go for a walk." The walk should end at your house/apartment. I usually talk about music during dates, so I say, "Hey, I gotta show you X band we were talking about real quick." My computer is kept in my room, so we end up in my room listening to music. Once you are at this point, the rest is up to you.

I realize that a lot of this is simple stuff. I'm just throwing this out here because I feel that a lot of guys underestimate how good a dinner date is.

Guys, you are misunderstanding this thread a bit. I am not talking about being a good listener or learning to encourage people to talk about themselves though both are good skills to learn. I am just saying that today all you have to do is just show up and "pretend" to listen to her. She will start talking without any encouragement or special skills on your part. The skill you will need to learn is getting her to shut up.

This can definitely work. I went out with this girl from Illinois while overseas and she was a chatterbox, talking 95% of our 2 hr "conversation". Problem with this is that they dont feel comfort and while I banged her that night, it took several hours. To be honest, I couldnt have talked more if I had wanted to (without interrupting her and making it awkward), no big deal though.

Houston is correct of course, but certainly this can work with talkative girls in casual situations.

I probably talk 90% of the time on my dates. Its just what comes natural to me and if I have to sit there and listen to hours of tripe I will lose interest or get distracted. I find its a lot easier to escalate physically when I am doing the talking but Im starting to realize that comfort building usually ends up lacking by the end.

Ive had a bunch of dates where I just walked around with her during the day without going inside any places and never really letting her get a word in. After 30-45 minutes I stop the walk and we sit down somewhere scenic Ive picked out before hand. The moment we sit down the girl just ends up unloading on me with emotional things going on with her life, stuff about her family, father, debt, dreams etc without me even asking her.

This can work in those cases where she is already attracted to you and the point of the date is to just not fuck it up. However, I don't really see how you can build attraction like this. If you're an average-looking dude an you manage to get some interest from a 7 or an 8, taking her out to dinner and letting her talk about herself all might sounds like a one-way trip into beta orbit.

This is the opposite of how I do dates. Not surprisingly, both styles can be lacking in building comfort.

Most girls open up right at that moment? That is something I have never seen, opening up all at once at a specific stage of a date outdoors.

Ok, this is the part I left out. While she is talking you escalate sexual. If you are next to her, you escalate kino. If you are across from her, like a table, you look at her sexual, touch legs under the table etc. Her talking distracts her mind while you escalate. Goes back to my cardinal rule: lead physically but follow emotionally.

Its happened to me so many times its the first reoccurring thing I noticed about meeting new girls when I started dating a lot more. Probably around 17 times out of 20. This is pre RVF so I usually do things differently now but it always went down like this:

Walk around downtown
I talk nonstop about random bullshit - she barely gets a word in
We sit down in a park or sit by the lake after 30-45 minutes of walking
She instantly starts opening up to me unprovoked

Maybe it had something to do with the comfort of finally sitting down. I didn't know shit back then so I just did the same walking date over and over again because it worked once or twice for me.
