Hey guys,

I'm trying to decide which Czech Republic city will provide the best opportunity to capture my Czech flag. I'm bypassing the great mothership of Prague, with it being already a top tourist destination and all.

I heard good things about both Ostrava and Brno, so does anyone have any experience or suggestions in regards to these overlooked second tier cities? What are the girls like? What party hotspots should I check out? Whatever you can tell me, I'm sure would be helpful. Anyway, I have lots of good inside info on Poland since I been here for a few months.

GK, You seem to know a fair bit about these places. I did hear though that Ostrava is one of the most polluted cities in Europe. But I'll only be there for a week or so. How would you compare the girls in both places? Which would be easier to capture a flag?

In my opinion Ostrava is easier regarding girls. The main advantage is Strodolni you do not find sth like this in Brno.Ostrava girls are the closest to polish girls mentality you can find in CR.
Anyway Brno is only two hours from Ostrava so one can always check it out.

My experience tells me that Polish girls are very wild except when it comes to the last hurdle, which is sex. You can make out easily, they'll be all over you and be ready to go. I was in Brno and got my CZ flag there but if I would have the choice now I would go to Ostrava. In Brno relatively many foreigners, low exotic value, clubs can be occasionally cock fests, you can do better there in social circle or day game (though hard also), will post a datasheet when I have time to breath. Ostrava should be much less traveled.

I'm actually thinking about hitting up Olomouc. I heard it's an undiscovered gem, a mini-Prague with a big student population and without the tourists. Anyone had any experiences there? I'll put together a data sheet after spending a few days there and any tips would be helpful, I'm sure.

Wish I could provide more tips for you, but I have nothing that's relevant. I was there a long time ago, and I wasn't meeting new girls.

It was my first backpacking trip around Europe and I went there to visit someone I met on the road. She wasn't Czech - she was studying in Olomouc on exchange.

You could make a quick attempt to pipeline the place before you go. The idea is to get access to local students. Once you make friends in the student crowd, you should get access to house parties and the student dorm scene.

I'll be in Vienna with around 5 days of downtime so I figured I'd make a 5 day hop up to there. A lot has been said about the various cities and the hotness of the girls but not as much has been said about matching style of the game with the city. So first:

Typically my style is noticeably well dressed.. (hell I wear boutique Italian suits to the grocery store) and generally I do better with a classier crowd. I tend to fit in better at upscale venues.. Even when I go "casual" it's still sports coat, slacks, tshirt... I always end up staying at more expensive suites in most places too (in neither case is this about picking up women, it's all for me).

In any case the reason I mention all this is because while I hear a lot of great things about Ostrava, it's also a very blue collar city. Nothing wrong with that, but I wonder if my style and game will look and seem totally out of place in a negative way. I've noticed in some countries being obviously more "monied" than everyone else can work to your disadvantage. I'm not terribly familiar with the attitudes of people there and how this is perceived in a coal town like Ostrava.

I do like having the exotic factor of being the most well dressed, and would prefer to have the foreigner factor I'd get form a 2nd tier city.. but just trying to figure out if perhaps I should focus on Brno instead of Ostrava simply because stylish might play better there.

Anyone else with similar style have any experience in 2nd tier cities in CZ?

Side note, I noticed there's only one really decent hotel in Ostrava with great logistics. Hotel Brioni right on Stodolni. Any other great recommendations there? or Brno?
