Selling software / programming creations
05-23-2013, 09:55 PM
Hey guys, I have heard here about coders/ programmers selling some of their creations for some good money. I recently made a really good project with great potential, but it still has a long way to go and I figured somebody might be interested in it.
I am focusing on other ventures so I was thinking it could be possible to sell it. Anyone here has input regarding this?
If anyone is interested in this project you can PM me.

Not that I'm a programmer, but having read alot around lean startup ideas, it pays to start with the customer in mind and work backwards from their pain point. They talk about the biggest mistake being making something in your garage then going "hey who wants it???"
Whereas if you can find a lucrative target market, find out what their burning problems are, and build some software that solves it (ideally on a subscription, recurring service type of deal) then you are in a much better position. Just my 2c from the books I've read.
I'd massively massively recommend "Running Lean" and then also any of Dane Maxwell's stuff for a good grounding in this.
