This is where you need to go tomorrow night, it's a club called Encuentros. If you're standing in front of the yellow cathedral next to central park and facing it, Calle Calzada is on your left, going out toward the lake. If you go down the street to the right of the cathedral toward the lake (one block south of Calle Calzada) Encuentros is on the right about a block or two. It is pay one price, all you can drink, and it gets more expensive the later it is (I want to say it was something like 200 Cordovas, or about $9 when I got there, and it went up to 300 and 400 later on that night). It's also probably worth it to pay a few extra bucks to get upstairs to the VIP room. This is hands down the best talent you'll find in Granada, especially if you're just there for a few days. This is where all the rich university students from Managua like to come party in Granada on the weekends. I'll be with you in spirit...have fun!

Capitan, check out where I'm staying... http://www.vrbo.com/442074 ... have the place all to myself.

I'll look into Encuentros. I saw a comment on their FB page that says it's been closed since October, but no big deal to walk 1 block over and see. Do those rich students from Managua speak decent English?

Some of them speak good english, some don't. Decent Spanish is a big plus, but not a necessity. Get in with some of the local dudes and they will help you game. Also, try El Clube if Encuentros is closed. Staying in a place like that, you ought to have no problems with logistics, and your location is perfect for just about anything you want to do, and 3 blocks or so from Encuentros. That would suck if they closed it, i was just there in July. Fun times.

Also, if you have decent Spanish, check out the Karaoke bar on the northwest corner of Calle Atravesada and Calle La Libertad (see map, but it's right next door to the movie theatre, if you need to ask someone). I don't remember whether it's friday or saturday, but the talent is pretty good there, and the crowds are fun.

Bacon, I met a German girl that teaches English, but I have no clue about the English teaching jobs situation here. Almost all the Americans/Canadians/Europeans I meet here speak 3+ languages.
