Travel, Health, and Changing Tastes in your 30s

I like it. But then I have the pressure of having to throw a party. Actually I used to use that one a lot in my 20's when I would know where there was a good party every weekend.
THe good thing about travelling is its much easier to strike up conversation with random people because you need advice and people are more interested in you because your foreign and want to know what your doing and where you going.

NBA fitness is apples to the oranges we're talking about here. And there are many other sports with less emphasis on explosive speed where guys are peaking in their 30s.

'Upping you day game' and 'Not approaching random strangers on the street' are antithetical to one another.

Its not desperate, its just human interaction. Its only desperate if your desperate to get a certain result from it.

The other day I was waiting in reception for a meeting surrounded by 40 models auditioning for a head and shoulders commercial. I would have loved to see you guys in that situation. I did actually strike up a conversation with one but how I would go from that to fancy a drink after I do not know.

Girls in groups are much, much tougher than lone wolfs. Especially if its in a situation with high social pressure for the girl, such as a work environment with her other model-peers around her. That being said, all women are different, and you don't know if you don't try. You will feel much, much better to try, crash and burn then to not try at all. Trust me.

You already went wrong seeking the result of a 'drink' with her. You should just be trying to have fun. If a drink results, it will come from 'having fun' much more easily than you trying to lead her to that result. That being said, once the situation feels right, then you spring an offer on her, if she hasn't on you. Truthfully, if your doing it right, then women will often offer to take the interaction further themselves. Some, but not all. Make sense?

If your conversation feels like you are trying to lead her to a result, in a veiled way (talking about the weather, or pretending to be her friend, to get a date with her) then you will very often not get that result. At least in the USA. And women are very sensitive to veiled intention, and so your intention, or lack of, has to be real and not veiled. If you want to take it sexual, then make that clear in a subtle or not so subtle way. If not, then just have fun. Often, when you just have fun, you will get offers that you otherwise weren't expecting.

Good advice man. I think thats where I go wrong. Im out to get a date and if I dont then I'm gutted which fuels the fear in the first place. If I expect nothing then I have nothing to loose and will so increase my approaches resulting in more action. nice.

Mostly it just sound like you guys are bored. Because, no shit, bars are usually boring unless you're early 20s.

That said, physically or "energy level" declining in your 30s means you need a clue on diet and exercise. 30s is prime. The only explanation for falling apart that early is years of self abuse.

Very important diet advice: http://www.paleonu.com/get-started/

After some smack was talked, I recently ended up at a track doing sprint races with a whole bunch of guys aged 27 to 42. Dudes were nearly tying high school times. Age related decline before mid forties is a choice. Over half the fight is so simple as avoiding flour, sugar & cola, and vegetable oils.

I second the advice on clear liquor. Stick with vodka and gin and soda water. Beer and wine and cola take a big toll.

That's funny. So when professional NBA athletes say their energy level and ability to recover declines after hitting their 30s and they're washed out of the league by the time they're 35/36, I guess it's because they have no clue on diet and exercise? I better send that link to MJ so he can make another come back for the Bulls. [Image: dodgy.gif]

IMO, KingKong is right. If you eat right and take care of yourself, you can maintain the energy level of your 20's well into your 30's. The human body ages better then most people realize. To use the NBA examples:

Micheal Jordan was 34, 35, and 36 years old when he won his last 3 championships. Dennis Rodman was a year older then Michael and probably in better physical shape then Jordan.

Steve Nash is currently 36 years old and is playing the best ball of his career. His numbers have actually gone up AFTER the age of 32! Look it up.

This years NBA champion Lakers: Derek Fisher (35), Kobe (32), Lamar Odom (30), Ron Artest (29), Pau Gasol (30)....Thats the starting line up.

They played the Celtics in the finals....Kevin Garnett (34), Paul Pierce (32), Ray Allen (35), Rasheed Wallace (35)...

These are starting players for the 2 best teams in the league.

Your 30's do not have to be tired, fat, balding, belly growing years, You can slow down the aging process alot if you have the desire and disipline to do it. Staying up late at night and drinking/doing drugs is probably the worst thing you can do to your body.

I do it everyday, it just feels like a natural, normal conversation to me. In fact, if I'm standing in line at the store next to a cute girl, or sitting on the train by a cute girl, or eating at a cafe by a table of cute girls, it almost feels rude and anti-social to NOT say Hi to her. Why do you think girls spend so much time on their make up, hair, and outfits??? They want attention. They want to be approached. If you don't say anything to her, she will just think you are another scared pussy, like most guys. Not talking to girls is a good way to NOT get laid.

I was in a similiar situation about 2 years ago. It was an audition for some fitness product. I walked in and there were 15-20 hot models in short shorts and tank tops. I was like.."oh shit!". I took a second to gather myself and I knew exactly what
I had to do. In a humble/modest way, just walk right in like I owned the fucking place. Body Language and eye langauge was key. Within a few seconds I made eye contact and said hello to a cute puerto rican girl who was in front of me. We chatted about the job details etc. I was not talking loud but I wanted to be just loud enough so that I would let everyone else in line know that I was not afraid to talk and express myself. (Most of the guys were very quiet). I tried to include other people in the conversation to increase my influence on the room. The line moved quickly and soon I was in a private room by myself with boss, after 5 mins I came out and the girl I was talking to was changing in the hallway. I said something like....

Me: "Hey, good luck with your yoga stuff"
Her: "Thanks, you too"
Me: "Do you live in the city?"
Her: "Yes"
Me: "Theres a really cool outdoor class in the park on Sundays, ever go?"
Her: "I've never heard of it"
Me: "Is amazing, blah blah blah, I'm pretty sure you could handle it, wanna go sometime?"
Her: "I have a bf but thanks anyways"
Me: "Ha, too bad, well you guys should come sometime, you'll like it"
Her: "cool, blah blah"

This wasn't my best work but i felt ok about the whole thing because I didn't puss out and I gave myself a chance. I really should have stayed longer and approached other girls but I was young and dumb at the time. I didn't know about the Whole PUA thing back then. Bottom line: Hot girls can smell fear. Being around them teaches you how strong your inner Game is. Being around models is great practice for any man.

Good points here, you and Hydro always seem to have some golden nuggets of insight and advice to share. I especially like these thoughts:

"If you don't say anything to her, she will just think you are another scared pussy, like most guys. Not talking to girls is a good way to NOT get laid."

"Bottom line: Hot girls can smell fear. Being around them teaches you how strong your inner Game is. Being around models is great practice for any man."

And once you bang a model hot girl or two, do you ever think you'll have a legitimate reason to not approach or be fearful again?

You won't, because you'll have been there. And here's a secret: they are all the same no matter what they look like. As a matter of fact, with the exception of the rule that extremely hot women are seldom single for long, you will have an easier time with the hotter women than less hot women once you learn not to be apprehensive or show fear. Hot women know that it takes rare confidence to game them well, and they tend to notice it, respect it and respond to it. You just have to show them that your in the club.

Basketball talk aside, you guys all have solid points.

As we get older, it is important for us to set up a system and lifestyle in which women are coming to us instead of having to spend our time and energy chasing them, as it were.

What I am currently doing is starting to get back in touch with my friends in Asia who are in events/entertainment/clubs in Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, and Manila. Since I plan to spend most of my time in Asia, I am trying to see if I can become involved part time in this area as it is in my interest in terms of both sex and business to be well networked through exclusive social events.

Seoul is a tougher nut to crack but I've got Shanghai, Beijing, and Manila down solid.

I would like to add Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei, Saigon, and Jakarta to this mix but that will take some time.

Good and encouraging point. I've noticed hotter girls seem paradoxically easier to get also, and I remember this from the old, old book "How to Pick Up Women" in which he said ugly girls and hot girls are the easiest.

I always wondered about it, seen it to be true, and I think part of it is:

1) hot girls simply get more practice making connections than others.
2) Hot girls have gotten used to regular sex and like it, and are not scared of getting pumped and dumped as much because they can get a new guy in an hour or less.
3) Hot girls aren't worried about their reputation for same reason as # 2, they don't need other chicks and don't care what they think.

When you travel how to you play out your week? Alcohol always plays a big part in it for me but I'm thinking something needs to give here. I only do countries in very short stints now because my body and mind cant handle extended trips with week long sessions of booze and bad sleep patterns. Im in my 30s now so I have to watch myself. But I'm interested how you guys do things.

I usually get somewhere on a Thursday so I'm fresh for the weekend. Party a little Thursday. Get quite drunk. Then Friday I probably go for it quite hard and most of my fun happens here. By Saturday I'm feeling pretty ropey to say the least. If I didnt get lucky the night before I force myself to go out because it is a Saturday and I have to make the most of my trip. Inevitably I more often that not have a shit time because I'm just to tired to to enjoy the drink again and not in the mood to talk to strangers. By Sunday I'm usually a bit of a mess and and am generally on a bit of low.

How the hell do you keep your game up for weeks on end when travelling?

For example, novelties helps fuel energy levels. You're in a new venue, a new city, a new country, new people to meet, see the whole picture and be fascinated by it.

I've been reading up on this guy lately.

He looks remarkably good for 72. I like the analytical approach he takes to health (he's also a semi-renowned economist).
