Do any of you have some good recipes for bulking?

Protein Powder
Yogurt/Greek Yogurt(Buy the big containers)
Oatmeal
Peanut Butter
Strawberries

I found some bulk powder on Amazon for like $27 for 10 servings of 800 calories each. I just scoop 1/2 serving into my protein shake and I'm good to go.

Cottage cheese.
Fried tofu or, even better, tempe. The soy=estrogen talk is bullshit, look at RZA.
Boiled tofu or 3-egg omelette with olive oil, garlic, and tomato sauce.

1st thing is stay far away from tofu and soy. They contain estrogen which is something that as a guy you don't want. It will inhibit testosterone production.

Ideally you don't want to rely on powders and shakes to bulk up as you end up pissing most of it out.

My bulking program ive been doing for the last 4.5 years consists of a few main staples.
I have 6 hard boiled eggs blended with milk every morning. Then 1 container of full fat Greek yogurt. Read the label carefully. Fat chicks have co-op'ed yogurt as they're food so most it is fat free garbage. 2 or 3 bananas after I finish the yogurt.
That's my morning routine.

Ideally you want to eat basic things and add them together. For example, I'll make a chilli recipe and add things to it like eggs, pieces of chicken breast and avocados.
Hard boiled eggs should be a staple in your diet. I consume 7-9 eggs daily.

Also you should be eating 2 dinners every night. Rice and/or eggs should a part of it.
There's no magic trick to bulking. Use google and look up some recipes for steaks, ribs, chicken breasts and fish. Then double the amount of ingredients. Throw in 3 or 4 hard boiled eggs and don't leave the table till its all gone.

If you can drink milk I'd suggest doing GOMAD. Gallon of milk a day. Whole milk.
It should be used to supplement your diet plan, not as a placeholder.

I'm writing this from my iPhone so please forgive the spelling and grammar errors

Actually the estrogen soy connection is not bullshit. Many medical journals recommend eating soy products for post menopausal women who want a natural solution. Not too mention the men who drink large amounts of soy milk end up developing breasts.

It's not bullshit. Please do your research before you claim that information is bs. Soy may contain protein but so do a lot of other things and they don't have side effects of breast growth and water/fat retention in the hips.

Also liver is really great too.

Rza has been a ripped vegetarian for decades. Without his resources, I am doing well with 1/3+ of daily protein from tofu/tempe. Certain industries want you to panic about your T-levels. Guys who do may have genetic issues.

@NuMbEr7
I did gomad for 2 months over a year ago.
It all depends on where you're starting. If you're skinny as fuck do gomad because you'll notice the gain immediately. However, if you've been lifting and eating properly for over a year you'll find yourself bloated and having to pee a shit ton.

@ Rutting Elephant
What certain industries? Please elaborate.
Have you been to your doctor and had your T levels checked?
Its common knowledge that estrogen is a detrement to testoterone production and muscle development. Futhermore, please don't spout results of a celebreity who works out. They aren't you. They could be eating grass feed organic beef 90% of the time and you wouldn't know.
The main reason for this forum is to share information of your personal results. It isn't to expound on how much you believe a celebrity's workout plan despite the fact it contradicts 99% of what the medical community knows to be true.

As a member of said medical community, may I mention...

1) There is still a lot of controversy about whether plant-based oestrogens exert any effect on the human body

2) It is unclear whether the net effect of plant-based oestrogens would be to activate or to block the oestrogen receptor.

i.e. plant based oestrogens may in fact block oestrogen activity (which would indirectly promote testosterone) or it may mimic oestrogen (which would then work against testosterone).

The jury is still out on this one.

Bear in mind, that 'oestrogen' usually refers to an entire family of molecules. It is NOT one molecule. Different members of the oestrogen family may have different effects on the oestrogen receptor on cells in the human body.

So some plant-oestrogens may work against testosterone, others may work for it. It complicates the picture.

What is worth worrying about, are oestrogens we men absorb from plastics, as these are proven to reduce testosterone (i.e. if your meat is wrapped in cling film plastic at the supermarket, it's going to work against your testosterone).

Plant-based oestrogens are called phyto-estrogens. Wikipedia article:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoestrogens

Synthetic-origin oestrogens (such as those from plastic) are called xeno-estrogens. Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenoestrogens

Xeno-estrogens are considered by a few voices in the medical community to be a major cause of falling fertility rates/sperm counts in Western males.

Lately, I've been trying to cut out plastics in my life, especially in terms of food storage and handling, and especially the clingwraps which are the worst culprits for oestrogen leakage. This task is quite hard considering how plastic is everywhere.

Anyway, let me not hijack the thread, let's go back to bulking...

That right there is what you need to know. Add in milk or whole milk too. With every meal have a serving of peanut butter (188 calories), a serving of olive oil (120 calories), and a glass of milk (150 calories). That's an easy 450 calories you can add multiple times a day and it is relatively cheap. If you gain weight too quick, just cut it out of 1-2 meals a day or do half servings.

Eat dense, nutrient rich food. Nuts, oils, milk, etc etc. Basically everything people said above. I would also dirty-bulk if your weight isn't go up at all (you might have trouble eating the required calories). Get some ice-cream, hamburgers, fries etc.

Watch the mirror carefully so that if you are getting too fat, you can slow go back to clean-bulk. I ascribe heavily to the mirror test (over the scale). Every morning give yourself a once-over to get a "first glimpse at your body". Are you getting more lines, more muscles showing -->>> continue. Are you getting a little more pudgy?---> cut down fats/carbs.

Regulating cycles are best for most, so you dont bloat up like a land-whale.

I just seen this article on The Rock and Marky Mark bulking up more for a new movie

Quote:Quote:

[the 6'4" former wrestler put on "12 to 15 pounds of muscle" by going on a crazy calorie binge that amounted to seven full meals a day, topping out at over 250 pounds.. Here's how he divvied up his daily allowance of "good complex carbs and protein/fat sources."

Breakfast: 10-ounce beef fillet, 2 cups of oatmeal, two-egg omelet.
Brunch: 8 ounces of cod, 12 ounces of sweet potatoes, 1 cup of steamed veggies.
Half lunch: 8 ounces of chicken (we're assuming not fried), 2 cups of white rice, 1 cup of veggies.
Lunch: 8 more ounces of cod, 2 cups of rice, 1 cup of veggies.
Lunner (or maybe dunch): 8 ounces of steak, 12 ounces of baked potato fries, a salad.
Dinner: 10 more ounces of cod (really, can you ever get enough cod?) 2 more cups of rice, another salad.
Late-night snack: 30 grams of casein protein powder, 10-egg-white omelet (yes, 10!), 1 cup of veggies, a tablespoon of Omega-3 to wash it down.
