Throw your white socks into the trash can

I still wear white socks with white sneakers (I'm partial to Adidas Stan Smiths), but I like patterned and colored socks otherwise. I don't see what's wrong with white athletic socks at the gym, or during any other athletic pursuit. If I'm sporting black kicks, which I used to ball in, I always wore black ankle socks.

They still make Stan Smiths? Those were my favorite shoes when I in middle school- early high school

I'm gonna get a pair!

I'm not going to be wearing argyle socks with my work boots.

The white socks are staying.

It's just a matter of taste and opinion. If you play ball then you can wear white socks. Actually, if you showed up to ball in ankle socks you would get laughed off of the court.

At least 70% of white (what i base my bball style on personally since i am) NBA /college players at who are guards (dont count awkward 6-11 dudes) wear ankle or no shows. Almost all the cool ones do. Redick, ridnour, parsons, and NCAA ballers.

Haha word. You can wear whatever the hell you want. As long as you show up to play, no one can say shit.

Yes sir. Try http://www.eastbay.com The retro sneaker market is huge, so you can get clamshell Adidas and old mainstays like Stan Smiths. I actually have an all black pair of Stans also.

I still have a drawer full of both ankle and no-shows (I call them footies). I still wear them even though I'm not playing anymore. If you're just walking around in low-tops, and it's hot out and don't want to wear longer tube socks, they're great.
