Saul Alvarez v. Austin Trout

Did anyone see this fight? It was close and competitive and could have gone either way. I have a feeling very few people will agree with the 118-109 score in favor or Alvarez which one of the judges gave the fight. I wanted Alvarez to win, so that he could be able to fight Mayweather in September and I could bet on Mayweather, but I wanted the fight to be a little more one sided so that the odds may be a little closer if and when he fights Mayweather. My understanding is that there was a rematch clause in the contract between Alvarez and Trout in the event that Trout won, but that there was no such clause in the event that Alvarez won. As long as Mayweather wins in two weeks, Alvarez will in all likelihood be fighting Mayweather in September. Hopefully, Mayweather loses at least two rounds against Guerrero in order to make the odds a little closer against Alvarez.

Solid fight--I hope Mayweather fights Canelo next. I hope it doesn't turn into a Pacquiao type situation.

PS Trout's girl looked pretty hot--Benson Henderson should be ashamed.

Not a fan of the decision, especially the 118-109(criminal), but what are you going to do? I've seen decisions a lot worse than that one though.

Canelo deserved to win but not by THAT wide of a margin. Not sure if he's ready for Mayweather...

He's not, but due to the amount of money that he and Mayweather stand to make from that fight, it makes sense for both of them.

Seriously? Seems you guys weren't watching the same fight as me.

Yeah, Trout managed to keep fighting the 12 rounds. But Canelo beat him up.

Thought Trout was easily beaten to be honest. Did any of you guys see our crazy retarded gypsy lad Tyson Fury get knocked out and then knock out Steve Cunningham?

I had Canelo winning in rounds 7-5. With no knockdowns, that would be 115-113 BUT tack on the knockdown that Canelo had.....116-112. No way it was 118-109.

Still, Trout did not fight like someone who was a) on enemy territory b) had no rematch clause c) trailing once he knew the scores after rounds 4 & 8.
