What will you do after age 50? Country of residence, marriage...?

We here are highly critical of cultural trends in the west, and at the same time most of us are active or aspiring players.

But god willing, there will come a time - let's say, after age 50 - when we will be able to look back on our careers as innovative Casanovas with satisfaction.

What then?

How do you want to spend the last 1/3 of your lives? Let's assume the world is more is less as it is today - fairly stable, but with most of the cultural problems we see in the west such as widespread misandry and current divorce laws still present.

edit: fourth option should be "live in the developing world, player 'til the end." Not sure how to edit this.

I read somewhere that says that young men like us go through a player stage early and that player stage can go well into our 40s but then it starts to get boring and you then decide to "retire" and settle down. Think of it as a career in Football or the NBA, all great players had success until they realized it was time to leave the game. Same in the game of seduction. I see myself in my 50s satisfied with what I accomplished, smoking a cigar in an exotic beach in Mexico or Central America somewhere.

Seems so. I'm a late starter but still satisfied with variety and the thrill of the chase. Just can't conceive of what might come afterwards when all realistic playerish goals have been hit and aging starts to kick in. Have serial relationships with top-notch 30/40-something women while pursuing other goals? Or raise a family, on my terms? Neither possibility really excites me right now.

As someone fast approaching 50 myself (I'm 47) I'm focussed more on keeping in shape, working out, watching my diet and looking after my health. You'll find out that once you start seeing some of those you grew up with passing away, your own health becomes much more vitally important.

Next, I'm always looking for ways to diversify my income and stay mentally and physically engaged in the world since I never truly want to retire. These are followed by upgrading my style, dressing in much better, proper fitting clothes, custom made coats and jackets as well as great shoes crafted in a first world country. This also involves learning about accessories, high quality fabrics and incorporating them with a style that is appropriate for my age. Aging gracefully with style and class has become important to me and I'm willing to educate myself as well as spend the funds necessary to do so properly.

As far as women and children are concerned, the older I get, the more I value my freedom and the less I want to settle down, get married and raise kids, as George Clooney said in the scene "Sell Me Marriage" from the movie "Up in the Air" "I just don't see the value in it". I wouldn't mind a stable relationship with a woman and I tend to date women 20 years younger than myself. More due to the country I'm in, demographics and the plain fact that women, especially in this part of the world either don't age well, age extremely fast or they are already married with some other undesirable qualities I'd just rather avoid.

Anyway, looking at the trends in world demographics overall, especially in 1st world countries, our populations are getting older. With advances in technology, nutrition and exercise awareness and it's effects on aging, the boomer generation entering retirement as well as celebrity figures and role models (men like Clooney, Pitt etc.) showing that getting older is not necessarily a bad thing while pushing the boundaries of what's acceptable and appropriate. Life over 50 for a man could be something to look forward to and even embrace.

Aging isn't so bad if you keep on top of it and age gracefully. Besides, if you look back in history, it wasn't until the 1950's that western societies (the USA in particular) became such a youth obsessed culture. Again, basically due to demographic shifts after WW 2.

Couple all this with spending a good deal of time abroad or even living in a developing country (I already do and have for 14 years), possibly a European one where youth obsession isn't a focus, and you can have a rewarding lifestyle gents.
