Jakarta - Advice?

Jakarta - Advice?

I'll be heading to Jakarta early June. Where is the best place going to be to stay for night life? I was thinking the Senayan area. It seems to be pretty close to the nightlife...

Any specific hotels/apartments?

Thanks

Clubs: X2 at Plaza Senayan; lounges under Hotels Meridien and Shangri-La; Immigrant; Dragonfly.
For a good hotel in the area that is relatively cheap I'd suggest the Sultan.

I have heard it`s a true shithole with tons of traffic... Naughty Nomad had this to say about it in case you haven`t seen it:

+1 to this.

Tough getting around in day. Its basically the "Sao Paulo" of Asia. At night the options are almost endless. Maybe try some of the Kota clubs for the experience. If you are up for it, go to Stadium [Image: idea.gif]

Just looked at The Sultan, the place is 126usd per day. What kind of "budget" are you on?

Mecure Hotels are pretty good value for the money on Agoda.

For 126usd per day at Sultan, I`d expect them to wipe my ass after I take a dump!

I love Jakarta and always stay in the Borbodur Hotel, which has a great gym and very large pool and grounds.

Definitely hit up Stadium, head up to the fourth floor. Also Dragonfly and Social House are nice. also Red Square nightclub is probably the easiest place to pick up.

Good daygame in Plaza Indonesia and Senayan malls, also in Sarinah mall. Actually there are malls all over the city, Jakartans like their malls. Jakarta is one of the best places for day game, a little effort can go a long way. Don't be afraid to push it.

Also you can get a great massage, many massage places offer good traditional massage with 'plus plus' service. There are some way out sex spas and clubs in North Jakarta, such as Malioboro spa.

take a look at the following website, it offers excellent advice:
http://www.jakarta100bars.com/

Some of the best nightlife is in the after hours clubs up in Kota, north Jakarta, but it helps to get to know some locals to find these places. Lots of drug use, especially Ecstasy. good luck guys.

I had a friend who stayed at Max one hotel on Jalan Sabang this past November. He loved it, and it was very reasonably priced. The room was a little small, but comfortable and in a great central location.

Just my two cents, I contacted Rutting Elephant before I visited Jakarta in December, his advice was solid. Keep in mind BATS, Red Square and Stadium are all places to shore. Keep a eye on your drinks and wallet especially at stadium, was told by locals some of the working girls will spike your drinks. I chose to go day gaming at Grand Indonesia mall during the evening, it was almost to easy. There is a lounge called Skye on the 55th floor I would just ask for directions in the mall to any girl I saw, while she was walking me to the elevator I would just ask her if she wanted to come have a drink also, worked for me.

Not sure if it was because I was not a local but cover at Immigrant was $20 US, drinks were about $8 (saw a lot of Australians guys and girls in this club). Older crowd but some of the fittest girls in Jakarta. Tons of hot young chicks at X2 but I had a super hard time striking conversation with anyone. On a side note, Jakarta has to be one of the easiest places I have ever shored, I was only in Jakarta for 4 nights Dec26-30 this past year, I had such a great time that I will be returning back in the Fall.

Thanks for the advice guys. Got a good deal on a flight from Europe to jakarta (around 300euros return), so wanted to see somewhere different. The Sultan to be honest is out of my budget. I was looking to find something for half the price. Definitely looking to hit up Red Square and Stadium (let's hope not too many ayams!)

My nightlife guide here.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?
