So I've been starting practicing game recently. One thing I really have a hard time with is accepting compliments. I just don't know what to say. This one chick literally said:'Jesus Christ, that's impressive' after she asked what I was studying. I said:'Yeah, I don't think it's really that hard, I think anyone can really do it if they put the time into it.' I meant it as a way of brushing it off, but I think I might've just come over as a douche bag.

I've had the same problem when girls complement my skin or my hair (not sure why, because I don't use any skin or hair product but I guess I have good skin/hair).

Should I just say thanks and then talk/ask about something unrelated?

I always have this problem in game and for non-game related stuff and I don't directly approach the compliment I just do some sort of smile and nod and continue the convo.

Or you can use it to run cocky game.

Yes. A sincere "Thanks" followed by a slight smirk. Like you get it all the time, but are still acknowledging the compliment.

How about if you do get it all the time? If there's something awesome about you, it earns respect, and now you need to convert that respect in terms of pussy. Your goal is not to hear the compliment over and over again, but to make the girls think "wow this is really awesome, I better do my best to seduce this guy". So basically, if you have a few features that get complimented often, be prepared to use them as seduction baits.
If you have a fancy job/degree, you don't tell it straight up, but you start by the funny invented profession like the seal hunter or the lighter repairman, and when they laugh in disbelief, you eventually tell the real thing.
If they mention hair/skin, I would just say "you too" and gradually proceed to kiss the side of her neck.
If they make compliments about your swollen muscular physique and ask what sports do you do, I say ping-pong and flex my biceps to show that the right one is much bigger than the left one (they're actually the same).
If you're a foreigner like me, and you've learned the local language but obviously still have an accent, girls often say "wow, you speak good French!", and I'm just "don't worry, love doesn't know borders"

Baiting is good. As long as its not obvious. If you purposely bring up jobs, just to reveal that you're wealthy, she might pick up on it. I usually let her ask, and if she does, then play it off like you don't do anything special to get what you have, like you suggested.
