Lothario - thanks for the intro to thedriver. I don't have a full report as I got wifed up quick in SD to a cute college girl. Wikipedia puts Nagua a bit Northwest of Samana , the finger-like peninsula to the East.

Have you checked multiple airports in the Dominican Republic, such as Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana? The last time I checked, it was much more expensive to fly into Santiago than into Santo Domingo.

The DR government charges a ton of taxes on the flight leaving DR. No way around that part.
