The lonely legacy of my Sex And The City lifestyle...

Does this admitted carousel rider want sympathy?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/articl...e-age.html

Respect again to the DM for airing these views, as they appear to be doing on a regular basis these days. However I ask whether it is being done to highlight the flaws of feminism or to attract sympathy for the cat lady? I suspect both, for page views.

TL/DR

Quote:Quote:

Not exactly a cheery thought, but at least I can console myself with the knowledge that, in one sense at least, I will be far from alone — because today, in the UK, there are record numbers of us middle-aged singletons. Figures released last week by the Office of National Statistics showed that there are now 7.6 million people living alone in the UK.

Quote:Quote:

In the Nineties, we professional, single women conducted our love-lives according to a best-selling book called The Rules — a dating bible that dictated that we should be aloof and hard to get, that we should not return phone calls, and we should always make a man pay on dates.Any man who didn’t conform was to be kicked to the curb until the next poor sap came along. What I never considered, though, was that one day they’d stop coming along altogether. I really wish I’d known that once you’re in your late 30s, men are pretty thin on the ground. And once you’re in your 40s, it’s as though they’ve been wiped off the face of the Earth.

Again, what sympathy does she expect? What is interesting is that that book 'The Rules' basically encouraged women to be, yep, you guessed it, masculine in their behavior. What happened? Men hated them for their lack of femininity and P&D'd them.

However, my favorite quote is the following:

Quote:Quote:

I also think it’s an uncomfortable truth that the sort of high-flying alpha males we were all holding out for didn’t want women like us. All the successful men I know have married sweet, uncomplicated women who are happy to forfeit their careers to support their husbands.

The comments section is hilarious, when I read this article this morning, there were no comments, hence why I didn't include them as I forgot to scroll down. Now, there's tons of hamsters getting good ol' green arrows and plenty of factually accurate comments from normal people with red arrows.

As usual, the biological facts about the attraction to fertile women seem to cause offense.

You're right. It shocks me how factual evidence-backed statements get so much hate. Well, I know...Third Wave Feminism is a pathetic movement with one goal - the advancement of ugly, old women.

There's a quote by Krauser that is brilliant:

"Feminism is a sexual trade union. It allows old, ugly women to steal eligible men, or their resources from the younger, more beautiful women who otherwise would have been the recipients of said men or resources"

Nice quote. But such a 'sexual trade union' would only ever work in stealing stupid 'eligible men'. These feminists are living in a fantasy land if they think any of their bullshit is actually filtering through to how hot guys perceive them.

The funny about this is one of the lead actresses, who apparently played the most outrageous character, has been telling people not to take it seriously at all and that it's all a joke. Kim Cattrall: Sex and the City is a fairy tale - don't take it seriously

That show has raised a generation of women chasing a lifestyle they'll never attain. There's the few that can actually live a lifestyle like this for not too long like the woman in the article. But I bet you her friends were average wage workers spending their whole monthly salary on a handbag. Fucking pathetic! It just goes to show you when you're in the shit it takes a long time to figure it out. After twenty years of nothing but hedonism this lady finally figured out that this isn't a good lifestyle. [Image: tard.gif] She has nothing to show for it now. Except maybe good memories? Can she even remember them? People learn the hard way I guess. But props to her for writing this article.

On a side note, here in NYC we have to deal with hordes of American women from every obscure corner of the country coming here for the 'Sex and the City' lifestyle. You'll never meet a more delusional woman than this.

Dont forget the LESBIANS. Many if not all of the first "feminists" were lesbians - as is now the NOW - National Organization of Women.

Feminism: a trade union where Lesbians, the OLD, Physically unattractive, Temperamentally Unattractive, use the STATE to forcibly transfer resources from men to themselves.

women who can't or won't marry men for resources, needs the State to take it from men for them - interestingly enough though, the STATE is primarily staffed by men .....

I live outside London, where I expect this happens also, so I don't see this. In fact, sometimes I question whether what we preach here is actually accurate outside of the MAJOR cities. I mean, Manchester is a major British city, but the girls are nowhere near as entitled and 'princess-ish' here as they appear to be in London, Toronto, NYC...etc, etc.

This is a dupe thread - we've covered this one already here, but yes, you're right nonetheless. She's a classic carousel rider that got smacked by a harsh reality. I appreciate that she didn't whine about it though - she's trying to serve as a cautionary tale.

Really? I am sorry if we have, but this article only came out today. Apologies if so.

No problem. However, it isn't new. I think they're re-running it because it's so relevant...HA HA!

But the pussy does to them. It's called cognitive dissonance. For example the chicks who can't explain why they produce snail trails for the behavior that they claim to detest.

We also have to realize that most men would never think about looking beyond their borders, be it town, city, state, county, etc. to find women. This guy sounds like he might be open to at least listening, because he's bottomed-out. If he's got a little money, I'd try to sell him on taking an international vacation somewhere, just to give him a taste.

You misunderstood The Rules. There's another thread on it somewhere, so feel free to read up or discuss it further on that thread.

Basically The Rules is about avoiding pump and dumps, prioritizing LTRs and guys that are ready to commit. It's a nuclear dose of sedative for the female hamster.

In no way is it promoting being masculine. It's a filter to screen out players. It leads girls to settle for what they actually can realistically get and lock down, instead of chasing guys who are out of their league.

In particular the Rules recommend letting the man take charge and lead during a relationship. They also say don't expect him to change. Sounds like pretty good advice to me.

The problem with "The Rules" was some of the methods suggested, like playing hard to get, not returning calls, etc. The encouragement for women to play games and waste a man's time to get him to chase...

From the article:

"I loved having so much space to myself, and the fact I could decorate just how I wanted. I can’t imagine many men would agree to the turquoise wallpaper with parrots that I have in my hall, or the huge chandeliers in my bedroom."

This is the quote I latched on to. She also spent 3000 pounds on a rug. (BTW, they peed on her rug dude.)

This is the kind of thing that drives dudes in relationships nuts. Parrot wallpaper. Why? Because she can. Grrl power. She has to show how unique she is by being stupid. Huge chandeliers like what she pictured at her wedding that she started fantasizing about at age 3. Thing is, no guy (or guy's parents) put up 50-100K for her wedding. Too bad for her. She can always go to some 3rd World country with poor guys on her holidays.

This is a good, honest article. The author accepts full responsibility for how her life turned out and isn't calling herself a victim of circumstance. She owns up that she made unreasonable choices based on bad examples and now is paying the price. I respect that.
