I cant believe ppl here buy into the whole "porn is evil" bullshit. That crap is straight out of the feminist playbook.
Id rather wank it to some porn then be forced to fuck ugly skanks and thats exactly why they would love to forbid it or shame and guilttrip guys who watch porn.

There is even a popular bullshit website that claims porn is as damaging as heroin and will fuck up your dopamin levels.
Yeah and you will get hairy knuckles too! Im 100% sure this pseuoscientific bogus is backed by some feminist group.

Anyway laws like this are laughable at best since they will never get passed and even if they do, how do they want to enforce them?
Porn is every where, I have a whole box of dvds in my attic, my local video store has a whole section just for porn and in ever supermarket or gas station there are shelves full of hardcore magzines. Not to mention the gazillion of websites. You think all this stuff is going anyhwere?

I find it more worrying that ppl here actually buy into this bullshit.

The leftist lesbian mayor of Houston is is actively trying to shut down every titty bar in Houston last time I checked but the evil fundie governor Rick Perry said he will allow gambling if the people of Texas desire it. So I'm going to say the dude has never visited Texas.

Yes, I am sure there are a lot more topless women walking around in Texas and Utah and Alabama than there are in the South of France, the Algarve or the Greek Islands.

For every bombshell blonde who would benefit from being topless we'd have 10 Jakwanda's or Tammy's knocking down lifeguard towers with their udders.
Not at all about censorship, just common fucking courtesy.

What does that have to do with anything? You should of said all of America is more censored than Europe if you're comparing girls walking around topless. I don't even know how or why you're going to compare 47 countries to 3 states, looks like we got another America hater.

Completely irrelevant as others have pointed out. I'm not aware of any existing or proposed laws in Texas or Utah or Alabama that would broadly ban certain types of speech like the one being proposed in the EU (or that are already on the books in the UK, Germany and elsewhere). And they would be struck down by the Supreme Court even if they tried to enact something like this.

I just find it odd that you are mocking the other poster for supposedly not visiting Europe and then talking about "right wing bible thumpers" censoring immoral speech, which makes clear that you don't have 1st hand experience in these places. Footloose is not a documentary.

Obviously because states like California and New York are full of socialist, marxists, wanna be Europeans Those red states like Texas and Alabama are the true representation of freedom loving Americans. They don't tell people what to think, or how to act, or make any attempts to thrust their morality on others.

I agree that the red states are the real Americans. The rest of this is too silly to address. I guess you haven't been to NY or CA either...

Well, it's a good thing that leftist Mitt Romney didn't get elected:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/susannahbres...mney-porn/

Quote:Quote:

But an anti-porn crusader says Mitt Romney has vowed if he’s elected president, he’ll ramp up obscenity prosecutions, a task President Obama has shown little interest in pursuing.

According to Patrick Trueman, ......, an anti-porn organization, Romney intends to launch a war on porn.

In 2007, Romney swore that if he were elected president, he would put a porn filter on every computer.

A porn fllter? Gasp! Does he think he knows what's good for us?

(a) the article says he was talking about requiring computer to have a filter that parents could choose to activate to filter out porn on their kid's computer, not a ban on porn (b) this isn't related to any state you mentioned, © this was from a speech by a candidate not an current official, (d) the candidate lost and (e) the law was never enacted. Not a good example. You have to read the Romney quote not just the media spin.

Still waiting for an example of those right wingers imposing their morality on you and restricting your speech. It should be easy since you claim to have lived in one of those red states - and we all know they are just evil theocracies pretending to be democratic.

Leftist Rick Santorum railing against pornography

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/20...ments.html

Quote:Quote:

Santorum is just one of a long line of social conservatives who have asserted their righteousness by railing against widespread access to porn. Like his predecessors, Santorum points to a “wealth of research” that supposedly proves how porn is responsible for a variety of societal ills: misogyny, violence against women, prostitution, sex trafficking, addiction to pornography, and the destruction of marriage and relationships.

Another bad example. (a) not from a red state, (b) from a campaign speech, © of a losing candidate, (d) not actual legislation, proposed or enacted. Your point was that these red states are controlled by "right wing bible thumpers" who restrict speech as much as Europeans and impose morality by law but you can't provide a single example or observation from your time there.

Left wingers get together to support "family values"

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/02/13/sa...porn-laws/

Quote:Quote:

Republican presidential candidates Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, and Newt Gingrich have all told the group Morality in Media that they would enforce federal obscenity laws that prohibit the distribution of pornography.

Those laws, the anti-pornography group said, are being ignored by the current administration.

“Federal obscenity laws should be vigorously enforced,” Santorum told the group. “If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so.”

Romney told the group it was “imperative that we cultivate the promotion of fundamental family values.”

Yes, let's promote fundamental family values. That's not thrusting your morality on us at all.

Leftist state of Alabama bans sex shops.

http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/...in-alabama

Quote:Quote:

If you're hoping to take things to a new level with your lady, Alabama is not the place in which to do it. The "Yellowhammer State" is currently the last remaining state to enforce a ban on selling and purchasing sex toys, despite several lawsuits arguing the law's unconstitutionality.

So, if you're looking to go into business selling vibrators (or just get down to business with one), stay the hell out of Alabama.

Want to have an alcoholic drink and watch nude women in the People's Republic of Missouri? Sorry, no can do.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/11/...rip-clubs/

Quote:Quote:

In a unanimous decision Tuesday, the court rejected claims from the adult entertainment industry that the law infringed on free expression rights and was passed in violation of legislative procedures.
The court said there was enough evidence to support the Legislature's belief that the restrictions served a government interest in minimizing negative effects from sexually oriented businesses
The law requires sexually themed businesses to close by midnight. It also bans full nudity, alcohol, minors and touching between semi-nude employees and customers.

THIS is what those leftist governments do. They tell you how to think. They want to control the masses.

I'm not going to sift through more links. The fact that you are having to Google examples when you supposedly spent time living among all these "freedom hating religious people" proves the point that you just had a knee jerk opinion against red states and then tried to justify it after the fact. The truth is that these states are dominated by conservatives and yet do not impose the sorts of restrictions on speech that are on the books in Europe or at least seriously debated in the EU and national legislatures. All you've come up with is some campaign quotes, a sex toy ban (on selling in shops not having) and a ban on booze in fully nude strip clubs. Hardly compares to bans on porn and broad restrictions of "sexist" or "racist" speech you have in some EU countries.
