Studio Apartment

Im trying to get a studio instead of a regular apartment. Small bed, night stand, a small couch or lazy boy type chair, tv and coffee table. Bar stools for eating at the kitchen counter. Maybe a tall lamp and fake plant or something. The hardest part would be figuring out the best areas to place everything.

Why are you trying to get a sofa and a bed in a studio apartment?

The whole point of a studio apartment is that your bed is the only place to sit.

I'm considering a 450 sq.foot st efficiency/studio in a low key, good location. I want at least a twin bed, couch, small entertainment center table for my flat screen and speakers, and coffee table in there if I get the place. Maybe a comfortable chair to. Am I dreaming?

You want a bed with a slanted headboard. That way you can sit on it comfortably like a couch with a couple of good memory foam pillows and skip the entire need to have a couch. I have the Trysil bedframe from Ikea that is designed like this and I love it. It's actually hard to find a bed frame that doesn't have a 90 degree headboard. You can also store shit under the bed with under bed boxes.

Also, try mounting your TV to the wall. If you have a desktop pc or work desk, one good integrated setup I've seen is to mount the TV above the work desk and have an integrated entertainment center and work desk area to save space:

Also I can vouch for the kind of results an airplay or bluetooth speaker can do for music.

In the same predicament, I have researched this at length, this is what I do.

I have a decent sectional couch that folds into a queen easily, but I dont usually make it that far with a guest, I bought this as a floor model seriously marked down over 50%;

I have been lusting after one of these for a few years, but they run about $15,000. For anyone living in a small place, logistics and what not I think its probably the best option;

I think a good quality sectional, with a well made frame and mattress is the best option, with a movable coffee table, or fold out table. All electronics are attached to the wall, all clothes in a closet, no dressers, entertainment stands, or a minimal bookshelf.

Well I can get a bigger and nicer place but the 450 sq foot studio is:

Very cheap with all utilities inckuded
Its own building so I can be as loud as I want, when I want. No worrying about weed smoke either
No pet deposit for my pussy
Good location close to what I like

Everything else looks a lot nicer inside but costs more snd the whole noise thing. I like banging my music loud at all hours. This is just a tiny, plain place. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow to see exactly what size I'm working with.

I had a place just like that and it was awesome. Pocket the extra cash and go for the small studio. The fact that you don't have neighbors to piss off when you're knocking the stereo while smoking with a chick is worth it alone.

Checked it out this morning. Its really not THAT small. I expected a lot worse. The restroom and kitchen are tiny but who gives a fuck. Im wondering if I can fit a bench press in there too. Only things I didn't like is there's only two outlets to plug stuff in, no ceiling fan and the windows dont open for fresh air. I wanted to bring a tall lamp but its gonna look retarded if I run an extension across the place. Yeah Muj, I just can't mess with neighbors a wall over after living in a house for so many years.

What do you guys think about furniture underglow?

I finally got my black leather circle bed set up and was thinking of putting some underglow lights underneath it to really set the mood. Maybe yellow or green.

Thoughts?

I was also wondering what type of lights I could lay on my carpet without starting my place on fire.

Pics murrb? I'm just gonna keep it real simple. Maybe a cool rug under the coffee table that stretches out far. I'm just thinkig of where to put all my little shit...I guess in a big plastic box that's stuffed in a closet. I'm already giving away things I don't need.
Cat tree
Bed
Coffee table
Tv and entertainment center
Couch
Maybe tall lamp to dim when girls come over
Night stand

I don't have any lights yet in the room so the picture is kind of dark. The bed sits about 2 inches off the floor so there is just enough room to put some lights underneath it.

I was also thinking about doing one of those rasterbator photos above the bed but then I thought it would be kind of weird to have a giant picture of another man on my wall so I was thinking maybe just mirrors?

Edit: And yes I decided against putting my bed in the living room. I figured it would be a waste of a bedroom since I wouldn't do anything with this room anyway. I'm just going to get a nice modern sectional couch with a bed part attached and that should be good enough.

My dog is going with a relative. I'm not moving to a different city so ill still go and play with him.

Murrb don't do lights. It will look cheesy. That's just my opinion though. Mirrors would be cool next to the bed so you can look during sex

Put the deposit down on the studio. Now I got a dilemma. It looks like I can fit a small couch for 2 and MAYBE a full bed or put my big ass couch and my bench for working out. I'm leaning towards crashing on the couch so I can work out inside but that's a bitch if girls sleep over.

Wondering if I can get eveything to fit if I put a box spring mattress on the floor with no bed frame .

Houston I'd opt for a bed frame. If you have to ditch the couch it will still work out because it leaves girls nowhere to sit but your bed.

Well, I've been here for a while. I moved a long couch in but no bed. Couch, coffee table, tv and bench press are the main items. Just been sleeping on the couch with no problems. Maybe ill get a futon or bed eventually. I wonder if any girls will want to crash here once they see no bed.

Would you be taking the door off and only be using the beads?

Just picked this couch up for my living room since I moved my bed into my room. There was a few others I liked better but I didn't want me living room to feel cluttered at all and this one fit the lay out well of my living room.

Theres no door seperating them murrb. I must say the place looks pretty nice for a small area. I just need a decent tv stand to complete everything. Got my bench next to the couch lol.

Clean couch. Make sure to leave a blanket around to throw down before sex [Image: wink.gif]

The beads depend on what type of vibe you're going for. They always struck me as cheap and hippy-ish.

What kind of art would you guys suggest for my walls?

I was looking at urban outfitters at apartment stuff but wasn't quite sure if a fucking crocodile head on my wall would be a little over the top.

Maybe I should just hit some garage sales to find random cool pieces of art.

I already bought a big world map canvas at Ikea but I can't decide which room to put it in.
