Rachel Hope is 5-foot-9 and likes yoga, dance and martial arts. A real estate developer and freelance writer in Los Angeles, Ms. Hope, 41, is seeking a man who lives near her, is healthy and fit, and “has his financial stuff together,” she said. Parker Williams, the 42-year-old founder of QTheory, a charity auction company also in Los Angeles, would seem like a good candidate. A 6-foot-2 former model who loves animals, Mr. Williams is athletic, easygoing, compassionate and organized.

Neither Ms. Hope nor Mr. Williams is interested in a romantic liaison. But they both want a child, and they’re in serious discussions about having, and raising, one together. Never mind that Mr. Williams is gay and that the two did not know of each other’s existence until last October, when they met on Modamily.com, a Web site for people looking to share parenting arrangements.

Mr. Williams and Ms. Hope are among a new breed of online daters, looking not for love but rather a partner with whom to build a decidedly non-nuclear family.

Nice guys really are losing out when women who are clearly over the hill aren't even willing to settle and are going for gay sperm donors instead of building a normal family.....

She has come up with a very elaborate way to get into his pants.

If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

This is going to create a legal quagmire of child support demands and child visitation requests. My guess is that states will see this as an end-run around sperm donor laws and illegalize it.

Colin Weil and the mother of his 2-year-old daughter, Stella, made sure to draw up a contract and even went to couples therapy before she got pregnant.

That's like drawing up a contract with your landlord saying you can smoke pot in the house. The landlord could sign off on your right to do it, but the state won't legally recognize it because it violates state law -- just as such a contract would violate state laws for child support and visitation.

As women a gets older, more and more bullshit needs to be done to bridge the gap between reality and her delusions. This is the hamster gap.

Unfortunately for betas, even a gay guy fits into her dream land better.

No need. Every such contract (in the US anyway) is already invalid. Family Court is a Court of Equity, not a Court of Law and doesn't have to respect contracts. If the judge decides it's "in the best interests of the child" (and he will), he'll toss that contract in the garbage and start using dad an ATM instead of a father.

This is sickening and further evidence (as if we needed anymore at this point) of the decadence of Western culture. These people clearly want children for no other reason than to satisfy their own egomania and narcissism. The child is all about what they want and part of their life's journey. None of them seem remotely concerned about how their child will be affected by growing up in such an unnatural environment, or how he or she will react upon learning that instead of being conceived in love or at least the throes of passion, their life began when their feminist mother shot a turkey baster full of their homosexual's father's cum into her snatch. There is no interest in creating a family environment whatsoever. Each parent simply wants to find someone to pair off their DNA with so that they can have a child. One is struck with the strong impression that if these people could clone themselves, they'd do it in a heartbeat, because it isn't about the child. It's all about them. Disgusting.

I knew a woman who was considering this sort of arrangement. There's a whole Single mothers by choice" organisation and community. In the end she had the good sense not to go ahead. Many of the women she met who did go ahead were not only exhausted (obviously), but teetering on the edge of some sort of breakdown. It's one thing going ahead and doing this if you are rich and famous and can afford all the child minding help you can pay for. But the average older woman (and 99.9% are late 30's or older) who contemplates this sort of thing isn't in any sort of condition to make it work.

No legal quagmire at all. MAN GETS SCREWED! ALWAYS! Gay man donated sperm to lesbian couple. Lesbian couple went on welfare, lesbian couple split up. Guess who got stuck with a bill for child-support!? The gay man! MAN GETS SCREWED! That's the basics of the corrupt Family Court system. It's about collecting money, it's not about best interests of the child.
