Nightlife on a budget.

Tonight is my first night out in Tampa Bay after a long time.

Despite my love of the club scene, I can't shake the fact that going out at night, three nights a week, can get expensive. I am out ten bucks just getting in at the bar I am going to tonight and that is not counting parking and ordering a couple drinks.

I am sure I will be out fifty bucks by the end of the night, not good if you are a hourly wage worker like myself.

Any tips on how to lower the costs? I heard that there are some good promotion groups I can sign up for that can give me discounts on different spots.

Any night game veterans in the building that can break down how to go out on a budget?

drink before you go out. buy one beer and babysit it as long as you can. put some booze in a plastic coke bottle and drink that before going in as well. when you get to the club area, just start off for a drink or two at a divey joint where drinks are $5 less. smoke in place of drinking.

Sneak in a flask of vodka to supplement your 1 drink

Sounds lame but don't drink. I couldn't drink for a few months due to medical reasons and my nightlife tab went down drastically. I'll warn you being around all of those broads sober can be maddening.

+1. Invest in a flask and pack it with Jack D (or whatever you like).

I don't drink alcohol when I go out if I am driving. I usually drink club sodas or cranberry juice.

I do need to invest in a flask if I do plan on drinking though, if I have a DD.

Here is the spot I'm hitting up tonight:

Email your bars and you can usually do a rotation of Bdays to get free cover. If they offer any perks just turn then down and say I'll just appreciate just making sure you abs your buddies get in.

Pre-drink... A lot. You can burn all your cash in booze make sure you full of booze right before you step out and then nurse some lime- and-waters to slow you down then buy a beer and nurse it the rest of the night. Full your bottle with water in the bathroom if your running low and like magic you have a new beer.

Be strategic with your cash. I found if I had enough for two cheap drinks I would buy somebody (dude) a shot and more times than not more then one would come my way in return for a net plus in Booze.

Try to hit new venues that offer specials, cover deals, no cover. You'll notice that bitches chase these deals just as much, if not more then Men.

If your brazen enough go out with little to no cash avid try to have a good night out with spending little to nothing. I mean like 5 bucks max, and looking to see how much fun you can have. I've had some okay nights doing this, spending time just socializing with whomever, building rapport and being offers drinks.

When I was low on cash and living in FL (Orlando) I'd start by hitting up the art gallery openings. There was usually free beer, wine, and snacks and the m/f ratio was pretty skewed in my favor.

After that you could probably find a bachelor or bachelorette party going down in Ybor City. Start up a conversation and I'm sure a few free drinks could be had. Its all like kosko said, if you approach people/groups in a friendly manner eventually someone will offer to buy a round of drinks or shots. Just don't overstay your welcome too long.

Nice tips. Thanks.

I am looking for a mailing list I can join that shows me all the specials going on in the Tampa Bay night life scene.

Yeah, I think going in with no hidden agenda and looking to meet people and network is the best way to rock it.

Thanks for the tip on the art gallery. I noticed the older chicks I meet have renounced the night life and prefer art galleries and coffee shops rather than bars and clubs (mostly 20s chicks).

Great night guys. Thanks for the tips.

I was doing great with my budget (five dollar cover, free parking, about ten bucks spent on drinks in total) until I got a ticket for parking facing traffic (didn't know you can't do that).

Oh well, 30 bucks isn't going to break me too bad since I have my tax return.

Going to keep an eye out for good deals, door specials, drink specials.

I dont drink more than 3-4 beers due to completely pragmatic reasons. Any more and the next day Im toast and cant do anything productive besides smoking weed and nursing my hangover.
Go out during the week to avoid cover fees.
Hit up places with drinks specials.
Student parties for cheap booze.
On weekends clubs here have a "entry free before 10/11 PM" thing going so I will go in for free and wait for the place to fill. Can be risky as clubs here dont fill before 11-12. Gonna try it out tonight.

I never spend more than 10 bucks when I go out this way.
The only reason I go to bars and clubs is to pick up girls anway, I couldnt care less about the music/party/whatever. Not a big drinker either. It turns me into a raging asshole and the next day I get hangovers from hell.

Best way to beat the game is to become the game.

If you want to take advantage of nightlife, get a job working as a DJ, bartender, promoter, etc.

Then you are in like Flynn, getting comped drinks and mad status and pre-selection.

Can you get a gig reviewing nightspots for a blog or the local paper? If so, they "comp" many of the charges and also treat you well. I did this with music back in my twenties and it worked out pretty well.

Agreed. I do enjoy the night life and the girls, oh my god the girls, look so fucking sexy. I can't imagine not taking advantage to go out even if it is to people watch.

That said, I can see weeknights being the nights to really go out. Sadly, I have to wake up early four out of five nights a week (I'm a substitute teacher) so that kills the desire to go out, or if I do I won't go out long.

Honestly, I don't even see night game really giving me lays, more planting seeds and networking opportunities. I figure I can set up some Day 2s during the day to really connect and get to know the girl before I go for the kill.

But then there is the bar--->dance floor--> lounge seat-->"lets go for a walk"---> escaluate routine that may lead to car sex/blow job.

I don't know, kinda just brain storming.

Awesome tips though, this (and everyone elses contributions) will be going in my "game" notebook for sure.

And yeah, I don't drink when I go out either. Too many inner demons.

Not feesable given my two jobs and other interests. I have to dedicate my night life journeys on my own terms.

That is a good suggestion though. Wish I had more freetime to pursue that kind of lifestyle.

I have to produce content first. I will look into it, but I can imagine with all that is on my plate I'm not looking to add anymore.

My wings and I just club sober, so all we have to pay is the absurd covers ($20 is the standard here) and bus it back home instead of getting taxi's. Booze is pretty expensive here (beers are typically $6, a pint like $12). We save lots of cash, peak later in the night and have no hangovers. All we need to do is a few warm up approaches to get that nice buzz going.

I was introduced to the idea because some of the guys I roll with are RSD junkies and that's what some of their instructors teach. I do drink on dates and at parties though, and when an untouched drink is just lying around the club like the one drink I had tonight.

Start smoking. Smoking sections are much better for macking, and chicks who smoke are more accessible. You'll probably smoke five or fewer cigs a night, a cost of $2 or less. And drink less.

When I turned the legal age in Canada I was also broke as fuck. Bummy ass nineteen year old who got by on selling weed. I was going out almost EVERY night. Keep in mind I had the advantage of living near my down town scene. HOWEVER, this is my budget if you're intending to drink. You could just always skip drinking. Here's my list of shit I did to afford going out.

1. Picked spots with cheap or no cover, this is vital, ten dollars in cover? That's three drinks. (IF you're going out to get hammered)

2. Got used to shitty beer. My goto beer that got me feeling good was Old Milwaukee Ice (Tall Cans), in Canada I think that was like 10.75. That was more than enough for me to stop drinking for the whole night if I finished all six before going out.

3. Know your limit of drinking and calibrate it to your game. Some gentlemen go out so tanked that their game becomes weak and you just end up becoming a bar douche who goes out for no other reason but to get hammered. Knowing your limit in conjunction to your game does two things: Saves you money and increases chances to pull a chick on any given night.

4. Set a budget before hand. I always would leave all my cash and debit at home except the money I allotted. That was usually 25 - 10 dollars.

5. Baby your beer. Now a days if I'm not even really going out to get hammered I still buy a beer just so I feel more at ease in the environment. Instead of constantly re-purchasing, I'll buy one and baby it through the night.

6. Show up to wherever you're going later than usual. This prevents you from lingering and continuously buying beer after beer, and usually this is the time in the night where one night stands are more fashionable. Women are usually in a state of "I'm tired and going home" or "I'm horny, who wants to seduce me?"

If you adhere to this, you can usually get away with spending twenty dollars a night. Ten on your six of beer, and ten when you're out. Keep in mind I DO have the advantage of living near down town, but even then, granted you're not TOO crazy far, I'd walk, or allot ten so you can cab home with the female you scooped up.

Nightlife on a budget.

My experiences with not drinking and running game

I started drinking @ the end of 2011. (never drank a drop of alcohol before then) From 00-11, I was at clubs and hollering at bitches.

1) You'll get questions about not drinking - just give them a reason.
I Quit,
never drank,
DWI,

but my favorite

"I don't want to talk about it" in a firm voice always works well.

2) drunk bitches are 2 things
a) easy prey
b) annoying

3) drunk dudes are easy to sidestep

4) have your target before the "last call" scramble. When the bartender says last call, most people try to get their last drink in. But your beta competition is now drunk, horny, and desperate enough to finally get their asses off the wall and put hands on any chick that comes across their path.

I didn't realize how much money I didn't waste all those years until I started drinking.

Yeah, warm up approaches gets my buzz going as well. Honestly, I don't do alcohol so I can keep my drinks cheap. If I pay more than three bucks for a club soda I'd tell the bartender to go fuck herself.

Hell yeah. I especially liked number six. I lingered way too long in the beginning and social anxiety almost killed my night. Luckily, I ran into a guy who new a friend who was supposed to be there (and got in an accident) and social proofed me to join his crew. From there I had a blast.

But yeah, going early can cause you to linger since you may have low amount of targets and end up watching people dance or checking out the game on the t.v. screen. Night game=be active. Talking, moving, dancing.

Good tips man. I appreciate your help.
