I haven't used bulletproof coffee brand.

This girl I am dating gave me a gift of a coffee press and some coffee that is pretty damn good.

I used to never make coffee in my crib, so I think she gave it to me so she could make in the the morning when she stays over.

I use kerrygold butter. And Natures Way Coconut Oil.

I did it on Friday and Sat night.

Give me a little more time of experimentation and I will have a better idea of how this stuff works.

Damn G, with your love of all things French I assumed you'd already have a press at the crib.

I'd suggest getting an electric water kettle too if you don't have one already. You just flip a switch and have boiling water in minutes. Makes using a press really quick and hassle free.

With the coffee though, does it not have to be "bulletproof" to get the same effects? You may not know but hopefully someone else does. From what I'm reading online the "upgraded" coffee just has less toxins...does that give it more caffeine or something? Or is it mostly the butter and oil doing the work?

Also, for those who have tried it, is it a "clean" focus? Or does it just feel like you've drank a shit ton of coffee?

Yeah, I drink Green Tea during the day, and double espressos at night.

I am pretty minimalist, therefore no need for the press at home.

Not sure about the bulletproof coffee vs other coffee.

Maybe it's better? Maybe someone else can weigh in?

I am guessing it is a way for the guy to make some heavy bank of this whole thing.

So far so good on this stuff.

I am going to give it thru the weekend before giving a Data Sheet Verdict.

Anyone else on this stuff?

Please weigh in.

I'm taking a version of BP coffee, but not quite the real deal
I use organic Central American coffee where possible, grass fed butter, some coconut oil, a little bit of MCT oil, and some cinnamon
I also pop an l-Theanine with this
That sh1t really gets my brain up and running in the morning, which is great cos my sleep schedule is not the best
(if I use bog standard non-organic coffee, it's not as effective)
I've had days where this stuff keeps me satisfied, alert and productive for several hours, but on other days, the effect is less, I think again this is down to my erratic sleep patterns
I've also just started taking Rhodiola Rosea daily, a friend of mine says his energy and focus is off the scale since he started taking it, will see if it has the same effect on me

I've been on the IF and my coffee (using kerrigold butter and coconut oil, mixed with my favorite blend of coffee) for 5 days now, mainly to lose fat.

I eat once - twice a day depending on my schedule, between 12pm - 6pm. Lots of meat (pork and chicken for convenience sake) and very little starchy carbs.

What I've noticed is loss of fat, with very little muscle mass loss. Which is quite incredible. I begin my day at 8am, have my first coffee at 9, and will feel hungry at 11. If its convenient I make another cup then, otherwise, I starve until 12pm and break my fast then.

What do you guys do at 9pm when you're hungry? Do you take another cup of the coffee or just eat something before going to bed?

If you feel hungry in the mornings, drink water. I seriously go through two liters before noon and it makes a huge difference.

As for feeling hungry as you end the feeding window, increase protein and either fat or carbs (but not both) right before close. Martin Berkhan recommends casein protein (usually in a shake or something) right before bed. But don't discount fat; a little bit of bacon goes a long way with regards to satiety (at least for me).

Bulletproof Coffee + IF (Intermittent Fasting)

Just thought I would chime in with some results I have had with BPC.... I have been using it pretty much this whole year...Only one day this whole year I didn't use it.... It was after my bday and I was too hungover to even move....

Couple very key points I found.....

The results are dramatic if you stick with a paleo diet....I am always in good shape, but this carved me right up with no effort at all into working out...

However if you don't eat enough in the late afternoon and evening, you will lose muscle rapidly.... I put on 15lbs of muscle over the summer and fall but after having to do some harvesting this year for a couple weeks I lost almost 10lbs of the muscle that I had put on...

My focus has gone through the roof.... I also no longer require a nap after trading.... For the first time in my life, I never once got sleepy while sitting in a tractor....I was able to combine up until midnight every night and never once dozed off... Although I haven't had to really do a lot of farm work in a decade or more..So maybe I was just excited about sitting in a fancy combine...Although I think that might have worn off after a day or 2 of just going up and down a field

I also tried plenty of different types of beans, butter, mct oil and coconut oil

Hands down Asprey's beans are the best and its not even close.... The other ones I always experienced different side effects, most notably pissing a river everyday.... Sometimes I run out of his beans and go searching for different beans to hold me over until the next bag arrives... Definitely 100% arabica from central america will do the job but I function way better on his beans

Hard to get real grass fed butter year round in Canada but organic meadow is excellent for the spring summer and fall.... I have been making regular trips south of the border now that I am in Vancouver most of the time, so it hasn't been an issue to stay stocked with kerrygold

I never use Coconut oil anymore in my coffee.... MCT oil for one is WAY cheaper.... I don't even know how you guys can claim it is expensive.... I use 4 tbsp a day and that costs me about $30 a month.... right now I am using PVL essentials at a cost of $30 bucks for a litre... Also it works way better... It leaves coconut oil in the dust when I compare the 2... I lean out quicker on MCT oil and i feel like I focus better on it

Bulletproof Coffee is the fucking shit.

I started drinking it over the summer when I was waking up @ 6am to go to the gym and knocked a MASSIVE project out on it.

Now iced Bulletproof with the Kerrygold butter/mct oil + BioTrust Protein Powder is my default breakfast. (You have to ice it or the heat breaks the protein down - plus if you have chocolate protein powder it's like a mocha. SO GOOD.)

That coffee makes my brain go vroom.

I've been doing IF for about three weeks now, I just use regular organic coffee with 18% cream. I have a small cup of that about 8:00am and work out and I'm good to noon, If I get a bit hungry I have a second cup about 11:00.

Do you find that the coffee granules float in your cup of hot water? How do you enable the coffee to dissolve entirely? I had to drink quite a few cups but not feeling this super charge you lot are talking about..

Anyone done a tea version? I am not a big coffee drinker.

I searched and found this thread on a body building forum.
