Especially, considering his claims are in the face of a lot of PROVEN GOOD the LAPD has done. Every cop is not calling dead people their new car or letting people die because it's "the paramedics job". That's a load of shit right there.

A personal friend of mine has been awarded the Medal of Valor TWICE. He's the 4th person in LAPD history to have received that. It's a medal that is normally awarded posthumously. In his case he saved some lives both times at great peril to himself.

Your arguments are slanted because you have a dog in the fight.

The fact is, he reported his feminist boss who was kicking a schizophrenic person in the head. Medical records of the victim, and his father's account, matched what the officer reported. He was then conspired against by his peers because he took the side of integrity instead of the "Blue Line."

Killing people may not be the answer, but they took away his life and his dreams. He's spent his entire life working to be in law enforcement, and an act of integrity in reporting police brutality took that all away. He grew up believing the fable of the US justice system, and after four years of appeals he's now realized what the system really is.

And for those of you who suggest he should've written a book, keep dreaming. Who would've bought it? Who would've ever heard of it? Check Amazon, there are plenty of books written by disgruntled cops. The fact is, his manifesto indicates he is more articulate and intelligent than 99% of other cops, and it's unfortunate that going on a killing spree is the avenue he needs to get his message across.

My argument is that people should be afforded due process and that a lot of questions should be asked before being willing to just take a killer's word and assume the people he killed/wants to kill, deserved it.

The guy was a cop for 3 years. That's not shit. His military "career" is a joke.

Go get another fucking job.

It disgusts me that you're trying to justify it.

If the guy was the great cop he makes himself out to be he wouldn't have had so many problems.

He says himself that he's had encounters his whole life by whatever he decides is "unjust".

This "my name" bullshit is just about another self righteous asshole taking lives because he's hurting he feels someone else must pay.

This guys morality is inconsistent with what he says he stands for.

Of course people should be afforded due process. The point of his manifesto is that there is no due process within the LAPD. Two members out of the panel of three people who kicked him out of the police force had a pre-existing relationship with Teresa Evans, the feminist boss who initiated the crusade against him.

I believe him for two reasons. First is that he has nothing to lose, which is why suicide notes are typically truthful. In a sense this could be considered a suicide note. And the second reason I believe him is because there is nobody else to listen to. By kicking him out of the force for lying but not charging him with perjury/falsifying a police report, it prevented the named officers from having to give their sides to the story. It also prevented the public from being able to read a court transcript.

I think members sympathetic to his crusade like how he's fighting authority, but if one of their family members got caught in the crossfire, they may have a different opinion.

He filed charges against female officer for kicking a suspect that offended her...then admits to choking officers that offended him. I didn't see him racing off to Internal affairs to report himself. Just another angry hypocrite that got the short end of the stick and now wants "revenge" even on the people that never did anything to him.

Facts: he's killed multiple people, left a suicide note, and is randomly shooting at cops.

How can anyone sympathize with this man without first hand knowledge?

The LAPD is the one shooting at innocent people. The LAPD has already shot at 2 vehicles they thought were his, but that turned out to be innocent bystanders that were mistaken for his car.

I am rooting for this guy.

Negligence < Murder. One is an accident, one is cold blood. Cops see and do a lot, but most of them are not highly-trained robotic supercommandos with nerves of steel and ice water in their veins. They're regular guys, often not the most intelligent and not prone to outside-the-box thinking, and now they're jumpy and nervous as hell because there's a nutcase on the loose who has made it his stated goal to give a lot of them dirt naps. Now is not a good time to live in that area and have a passing resemblance to this guy, or you're liable to be perceived as a threat and shot in self defense. It's just human nature.

In Torrance, the police shot at a truck wounding a women. Then, 25 minutes, they shoot at another truck AFTER knowing that they made a mistake the first time.

“One woman was struck in the hand and is expected to recover; the other was shot in the back and her condition was unknown late Thursday. Both were taken to the hospital.

Two blocks away from where that shooting occurred, Torrance police shot at another driver travelling in a pickup truck 25 minutes later.”
http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/...38221.html

This seems to support Dorner's claim that the US police just don’t give a damn about innocent people, but about preserving their own interests. I think the police in the US are spoiled by Hollywood which glorifies them. The power goes to their heads. In this respect, they are similar to American women. I felt much more comfortable with the Dutch police when I lived in the Netherlands. In Europe, you rarely see a police car on the highway, in contrast to the US where you can’t drive for 5 minutes without seeing a police car. The only encounter I had was the first week I was there I drove my bicycle in the centrum (you are suppose to walk your bicycle in the centrum). A policeman just gave me a friendly warning telling me to walk my bicycle in the centrum the next time. In the US, I would have probably been shot and then charged with terrorism. The US has really gone unstable.

I'm not condoning the guys methods, but they are bringing the predicted results.

ie-Dumbass cops popping off at trucks that look like his without even bothering to see if it might be him driving it.

The question is will those dumbass cops be charged?

In case you are wondering, no I'm not a fan of most cops. I've met a few good ones and a lot more bad ones.

I don't think many people are actually condoning the fact that this guy killed innocent people.

They're just glad that somebody is taking a violent stand against the police/government and are living vicariously through him.

Our government is so fucked up and out of control, and everyone knows it, that something like this has a bit of a Robin Hood element to it. People generally feel powerless to do anything about government overreach, so when a guy like this stands up and says, "Enough! Fuck you. I'm not taking anymore!" that resonates with the frustrations of a lot of people.

That people are willing to overlook the fact that this guy has killed innocent people is a stinging indictment of how low the police and the government stand in the eyes of citizens. A large percentage of public opinion is sympathetic to a (seemingly) crazed murderer over the government. That's pretty goddamned pathetic and makes our government and the LAPD look like shit, but deservedly so, because they've earned that contempt through years of corruption, abuse of power and trampling on the rights of citizens.

This guy had our hamsters spinning!!!

We thought he was a good man who lost his job because a feminist lesbian lied. He did the right thing and stood up for whats right. He wanted to protect innocent people. He was a good man. His life was fucked over by a corrupt police force. They lied and cost him his career. He took matters into his own hands..

We bought into the fantasy. A courageous man vs. a corrupt system. We have seen it before..

We thought he was robin hood.

But he killed innocent people, that was wrong.

Fuck! I wanted to root for this guy!

Fisto and his morality bullshit ruined my hamster!

If that woman really did kick a disabled man in the face, and then lie about it, and then got this guy fired because he reported it, and then he killed her and only her, would anyone have a problem with that???

Okay, I'll stop. Killing is bad.

But, if you take away someones career and pension and retirement and security and it was all a lie to cover your own ass, I think that person should be allowed to fuck you up!

What if a girl falsely accuses you of rape, you lose everything, your job, your house, your family, your reputation, etc. AND, IT WAS ALL A LIE. Would it be okay to kill the girl or am I just fucking crazy???

I think if you lie and ruin someones life. Or, if you lie and take someones money, or, if you lie and put someone in jail. Those are capital crimes.

There has to be consequences. But, this guy killed innocent people, so now he has to die. It's shame all the way around.

Props to Fisto for maintaining our morality.

--------

By the way the LAPD has already shot 2 innocent people who they thought was this guy. How the fuck is the police just shooting at random cars???

If the police accidently shot my mom or my sister I would be the next guy to lose it and start targeting cops!

I wanted to read and learn as much as possible about what's going on here before weighing in.

I agree the guy's a piece of shit.

The reason people are rooting for him is because we love renegades. We love people that break out of the daily monotony, load up a gun, and go out to "teach the world a motherfuckin' lesson." We all have pent up frustrations in our daily lives that we have dark fantasies about solving Commando style, but real life is different. So when we see some loony tune actually living out that fantasy it triggers a really gratifying response.

I can relate to it. I've never had a good cop experience. I've been told, "Yeah, just wait until you need them." Well, I've been in that situation and they weren't there. However I can put that experience behind me and realize there's really no justification for this guy targeting anyone's life.

I'm waiting for the gang bangers and other low lifes to get the bright idea that if they were to take out some cops it would be immediately blamed on this guy.

That, or some other pissed off nutjob might join the party.

Things might get interesting....

Oh, and as someone that would count First Blood as one of his top 20, maybe top 10 favorite movies, I also take huge offense to anyone comparing this guy to John Rambo. Not even a remotely similar scenario.

If this were a true Rambo situation, I'd be more simpathetic.

People get wronged every day, including getting fired, for bogus reasons. I've been fired for bogus reasons. Again I understand why people are all "FUCK YEAH" in principal, but reality is this guy taking lives and destroying families. A reality check is due here...

Big fucking deal. Grow the fuck up. SOME black people use this as an excuse to do whatever they want. Meanwhile they use the word liberally.

I don't want to hear about how they put an "a" at the end of "nigger" which makes it different. It doesn't. In general black people put an "a" at the end of every noun i.e. "paper" is "Paypa".

I just got punched in the face 5 times and I didn't go postal at all.

Like I said, grow the fuck up.

This guy is a delusional self righteous bitch who should climb down from the cross and beg for forgiveness.

Edit: We should be able to remove our romantically inspired wants and look at this for what it is.

This is an OJ situation through and through. "GO OJ" and then you find out OJ is a cold blooded killer who IS guilty.

This guy even references Mark Furhman, but if you actually read about what all took place during that investigation, Furhman has more of a right to go crazy than this jackass.

Gio - This guy didn't lose a pension, he only had a few years on the force. It takes over 20 to get a pension.

This guy had delusions of grandeur that crumbled when real life set in. The LAPD is not a criminal organization, but it's real cute to claim that.

As far as cops shooting at innocents. They're fucking scared. They should exercise restraint, but they have human character flaws.

Personally I think Chris Dorner makes many rock-solid points, and no American should be surprised by the suggestion that the LAPD is corrupt, racist, and deceitful.

On the other hand, killing officers (or worse, their families) to protest LAPD's habitual refusal to honor the rights of the citizenry is hypocritical and morally wrong, and doing so will certainly not clear his name.

That's a weak argument. I could turn it around as follows:

Quote:Quote:

I think members sympathetic to armed policemen appreciate that they fight the bad guys, but if one of their family members got caught in the crossfire (run over by a cruiser in a high speed chase, wrongfully arrested, misidentified as a criminal, etc), they may have a different opinion.

Essentially what you're saying is that people who agree with an idea are likely to shift viewpoints once that idea exerts severe unintended consequences upon them or their loved ones. This is a commentary on the thinking and emotion of people who are affected personally, but it doesn't mean that the resulting belief is better. I would argue that sometimes people can think most clearly about death when they are not personally affected by it.

My point is not to argue, but rather to suggest the following alternative to your reasoning:

Perhaps members sympathetic to Chris Dorner's crusade are really just sympathetic to his writing, and have forgotten that by killing innocent people (insofar as nobody has proven them guilty), he is misusing his training and weaponry far more flagrantly than the average crooked LAPD cop.

Michael Ruppert was a former LAPD detective who got drummed out for trying to expose LAPD/CIA drug trafficking in the '70s.

He could have gone postal, but instead he chose to put pen to paper and has for decades now worked to expose government corruption.

This guy could have done the same, he is clearly intelligent and articulate.

But his anger got the better of him. Very unfortunate for everyone involved.

Now he just exists as a symbol of rage that people latch on to out of desperation due to the disgust they feel toward their own government.

He should have remembered that the pen is mightier than the sword when he set out to spill some blood.
