Chick losing her political seat over plagiarism

Germany’s education minister and a close ally of Chancellor Angela Merkel was fighting for her political life on Wednesday after her former university stripped her of her doctorate for plagiarism.

Annette Schavan vowed to launch a legal battle against Duesseldorf University’s ruling on her thesis, “Person and Conscience”, written 33 years ago, amid opposition calls for her to resign.

I'm guessing this type of shit happens a lot in the academic world and flies under the radar most of the time.

How is she doing as education minister though? Have the stats indicated that she showed a good improvement within Germany?

If so, then let bygones be bygones, she's doing her job well. If not, then use this as leverage to get a new education minister who can do some good.

She has a (well, used to have ) PhD in "Educational Sciences". I daresay it was useless to begin with.
But yeah a lot of german politicians have been stripped of their doctorates over the past few years, the internet age is sure catching up with them [Image: angel.gif]

It's really hard to imagine her as a "chick." By comparison Merkel almost looks semi attractive- almost.

Education minister plagiarizes, pretty much sums up the average education specialist in the western world.

Ha. This is no doubt a result of the Toronto school board head being canned when evidence of a long history of plagiarism arose last month. I bet school boards all over the world are double checking on a lot of people.

This. Apparently getting a plagiarized PHD in Germany used to be pretty easy.
