Xanax has a half-life of 4 to 6 hours and it doesn't really get you high. It's just a CNS depressant. If you drink on it, you get drunker faster. Take a couple of xanax and 2 or 3 drinks will get you fucked up. If you use opiates with xanax, you will get higher. All benzos do is slow down your CNS. I'm in favour of the judge's decision.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this appears to be a bail hearing. The judge did not double her fine, but the amount of bond that would need to be posted for her to get bail before going to trial.

Her behaviour seemed to indicate a lack of respect of judicial procedures, a reasonable reason to increase the bond requirement.

30 days in jail for contempt seems like a lot, but I think swearing at the judge is deserving of a month in jail.

If she learns some respect from this and acts like a more decent human being in the future, he's done her a favour.

Whattt??? Have you taken Xanax? That shit fucks you up big time! I won't even touch them anymore because I either A) Make bad decision and black out, wake up the next morning, hear about the dumb shit I did, don't remember anything and feel like shit/a zombie for the next day or two. Or b) Pass the fuck out 20 minutes after taking it, wake up the next day and feel like shit/a zombie for the following day or two. The stuff fucks me up for like 2 days straight and that's no exaggeration. I've seen people do some real dumb shit one those things. I beat the SHIT out of a pride fighter when he was high on Xanax, when he should have probably handed me my ass (I didn't know he was on them or that he was a pride fighter at the time). I've never heard a person who has taken Xanax say that it doesn't get you high. I 100% think that Xanax impairs my judgement more than any other drug including alcohol. Many of my friends would agree. BTW, it's an anti-anxiety, not anti depressant.

Late response time, but I haven't logged into RVF for a while.

Xanax is a central nervous system depressant. I didn't mean to imply that it was an anti-depressant. I had a prescription for xanax back in the day because I said I had trouble sleeping on long flights. Doctors prescribe that shit like candy and it's a terrible drug. I stopped taking it and even weaning off, I had slight withdrawal symptoms, and when I stopped completely, I couldn't sleep well for months. I was lucky I didn't take it for more than a couple of months, because I hear horror stories of people who take that shit for years and are never the same i.e. random panic attacks for a very long time and increased overall anxiety levels.

It's addicting, but it doesn't give you a head-change like any other drug. What I mean is, if you take pain pills, you definitely feel euphoria. If you drink, you feel drunk. If you smoke pot, you immediately feel the effects of that. If you take xanax, you just release your inhibitions. There is no feeling of being high, even in large doses. You just act a fool and black out if you take anything over a couple of milligrams.

Did you drink with it? Like I said, I drank on it a couple of times and 2 or 3 beers would get me as drunk as if I was drinking hard, but with a more stupifying, lethargic effect.

Xanax is sold on the streets because it's cheap as fuck and potentiates the high of almost any other drug. People on methadone often use it because they get methadone from the clinics and don't get high, but when the person pop a few benzos the feeling is very similar to heroine. People who pop pills or do heroine do it to make the high last longer/hit them harder.

Xanax fucks you up bad unless you have a high tolerance for it. You don't remember shit the next day if you mix it with alcohol. Smoke with it and you'll be extremely slow.

Yeah straight xanax does nothing for me except makes me blackout if i take too much. When someone who isnt me used to drink on them that someone would get drunk like he had 12 beers after drink 3 or 4 with no hangover.

Someone who isnt me smoked pot on xanax and the high lasted much longer.

When i was prescribed xanax, it was for anxiety but i have no anxiety issues i told him i felt uncomfortable on planes and he gave me continuous scripts.

Everyone should understand people can react to the same drug in very different ways depending on their neurological setup.

Often psychiatrists have to prescribe several drugs one after another in a trial and error attempt to find something that works and is tolerable.

Everybody's nervous system and personality is different.
