BC high school students target strip club for 'social justice' class project

This is an example of indoctrination that many youth have today, as someone who has spent a good chunk of life being in such an indoctrination system of public education here in BC it doesn't surprise me. What amazes me is that the teacher made this a mandatory class project, and encouraged "social justice" using poor data (the textbook is based on biased information obtained in the us) not to mention they try to protect the "victim" strippers, when in reality, this is how the strippers earn their living! It's also funny to see that they traveled from their city to go protest in another city. This place is totally legal.

Quote:Quote:

"Men can go in there and treat women as objects and it isn't fair to them," student Ryan Leppert told the News Leader.

Ryan said he doesn't accept that women have a right to choose to be strippers, prostitutes or porn stars.

"We don't believe it is [their choice], we believe it is a desperate attempt to get money or a lot of them have been forced into it," he said.

"I know I used to joke about strip clubs, they were just kind of funny, but after learning everything that goes on in them I don't find it funny at all. It's a serious matter."
This is why I hate the region I live in and hate the majority of people I had to deal with here while in public school.

This is where the progressives begin to run into trouble with each other.

On one wing, you've got progressives who think sex work is exploitative and ought to be attacked. The fact that such work is often enjoyed by men is a key reason for this hostility, since it is viewed as a tool men use to exploit women for their own pleasure. Their vision of female empowerment doesn't include the use of the flesh-"girl power" is attained in classrooms, not on stripper poles and porn sets. Their limited view here is quite strictly adhered to as that quote from the student showed-they simply deny the notion that women have any choice in entering sex work.

On the other wing you've got progressives who believe in the sanctity of female choice in ALL things, including sex work. They would think it wrong to limit a woman's right to make money off of her body if she wants to, and might label the folks on the other wing totalitarian (or possibly even paternalistic and sexist) for trying to deny their choice in the matter. That categorical denial of female agency in entering the sex industry of their own volition is the biggest problem this wing will have with the other, and will allow for some choice words to be exchanged as they try to paint their enemy in an unappealing (read: conservative) light.

Both of these wings are quite strong, which is why this battle rages on throughout the west regarding sex work. I'm personally favoring the sex workers on this one.

Know your enemy and know yourself, find naught in fear for 100 battles. Know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory. Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.

Read the comments on both the links you posted. They are overwhelmingly against the students. I truly do feel for the male students in that class.

This guy Ryan only has two possible outcomes:

He stays for life with some ugly feminist as her pet.

If he manages to find some half-decent looking wife somehow, she will get tired of him eventually and divorce him and take him to the cleaners.

Earlier today I mentioned to an older lady, close family friend, about seeing a single mom bring her two young boys into Hooters. I thought it was hilarious as my mom would have done the same.

Her comment was that she was teaching those boys at a very young age to "exploit women and treat them like dirt."

I'm guessing she's never walked into an actual Hooter's, where women are pedestalized by most guys that come in, sucked up to, there by choice, having fun, and making fantastic tips...

Hooters. Keepin' it real. [Image: Strip.gif]

To paraphrase that Ryan dude: "as a man so concerned about the equality/empowerment/whatever of women I believe we should prevent them from working certain jobs because they are so destroyed by us men they can't make their own decisions"

While stories like this make me want to tap out and go to places with more feminine women I do realize the benefits of 99% of the population having a vagina. Guys with good game (as long as they can work around the state of things) have their pick of any woman. The only dudes approaching are crackheads, ed hardy bros or other guys with bad game. The women here are slim, theres a huge asian population and interracial couples are all over the place. This leads to fine ass mixed race honeys (Van might be a future poosy paradise with all these half asian women), no stigma against dating outside your race (well its rare to see Persians or Indians in interracial couples). Sure the social climate makes for shitty night game, but damn with the right moves day game is easy. No matter how a woman is raised she can't deny her instincts, she can't shy away from what makes her pussy wet. Be like water and you shall succeed.

Out of all the horrible things going on in the world lol, they pick something as dumb as this. Why is Canada so PC?? What's going on up there?

This is not representative of Canadians' views on gentlemen's clubs; rather, one teacher's unfortunate brainwashing of his students. This was for a "social justice" class, which, from the articles, sounds like the high school equivalent of a university "women's studies" class.

EDIT:

Damn, look at that overbite:

Bitter feminist in the making.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Vancouver again... BC is truly the center of the spider's nest called feminism and PC, self-congratulatory hysteria. Check out " because I am a girl", guys in pink dresses protesting for women's rights and last year some clowns in superhero outfits tried to "catch predators" via onlinedating traps...

I know what my first thought was, and I'm sure it was the same for many of you.

"Say you guys shut this place down and all the strippers are out of a job. Are you gonna pay their rent that month? Their kid's health insurance? Their food bill?"

Ha. They should be protesting that these poor women have to work in, and probably live in, New Westminster. Not that they are choosing to be strippers.

It's too funny that high school students, who probably don't have much money (unless their parents are rich), are fighting for the rights of people who are earning multiple times what they can earn at Timmies or McD's.

But if I were the owner I wouldn't worry too much. The kind of people who get involved in this sort of "first world problems" protests are some of the flakiest and most fickle people out there. Yes, including the guys. They are just looking for their 15 minutes and likely have little actual interest in the working conditions of the strippers. They will soon get bored and mover onto something else.

So much for "tolerance." If only the workers and patrons weren't all cis-gendered, then everything would be OK.

Yeah, Vancouver's redeeming factor is the physical beauty, of both nature, and the women.

I have only been called misogynist twice in my life, and on one occasion it was by a very aggressive "Because I am a girl" canvasser. They absolutely spam the streets with those people. A lot of the canvassers are typical male feminists or super feminazi women, but there have been a few times where the canvasser was good looking and a good potential for gaming.

Not in Canada! Well I guess with the amount of government social support here they are somewhat indirectly paying for it via taxes.

Yes the best example of this was last year during the Kony 2012 campaign, a lot of bandwaggon support without the facts. The problem is that this is state encouraged cultural Marxism via indoctrination in the public school system.

Here's a video on the story with the same tactics of blaming men, trying to use "morals", using false information and of course the sympathy plea from a former sextrade worker(not from the same place mind you).

I liked the old lady at the end though, no bull shit approach.

That old woman has it right. It really is that simple. 2 consenting adults exchanging money for dances, no one is being forced to be there and no gang or mob ties.

I can't believe this is going on in a high school. I guess the old school, no bullshit teachers (has Canada ever even had those?) are all retiring and these new age freaks are taking over classrooms.

Yeah, tell a girl making more than their teacher in half the hours that you're there to save her from social injustice. Hahahahah. Jesus, the sheer audacity to go to someone's place of work that harms no one and try to tell them how to live their life is just unbelievable -- the height of arrogance.

I had to take a "social justice" class in college. It was mostly women, I'm sure it's a popular minor for women's studies majors.

My friend lives in Toronto, with his Canadian gf. They keep saying "why don't you move over". I don't want to tell him why because he's in love with the place and wouldn't tolerate criticism. I guess his foreign status made it easy for him to bag a nice gf, in a bar of all places, I hear the average Canadian man has it much harder.
