You know. After reading this thread sometimes travel is about expectations.
Now Poland expectations are through the roof and for rio you expected to see fat bitches... So it's almost a negative sometimes to see loads of positive reviews. It's hard to go to a place and adjust expectations.
Overall great to hear its not a disaster out there now though.

Very timely ROK article about how to bang Brazilian women in 5 easy steps. I must cosign this formula. This is very accurate.
http://www.returnofkings.com/3661/how-to...easy-steps
Keep in mind though that Lapa can be hit or miss. I went there on a Saturday night and it sucked. I also saw more than a few lesbians out for some reason. But girls were generally receptive to approaching. Very feminine.
Once February 1st rolls around, I'll have my buddy who has lived in Rio for about a year now join the forum. He is extremely insightful and is living much of what we talk about. Hopefully he'll be able to contribute guest posts in ROK as well as he's a good writer.

The best thing about Rio is the vibe and lifestyle.
Beach, music, soccer, sex, food, dancing, romance..
This is life. Literally. No place I have ever been embodies the spirit of a playboy quite like this place.
I miss the acai and fresh fruit from beachfront stands, soccer games on the beach and at parque flamingo, cheap but fresh sushi, beautiful cuts of steak, coconuts, and the girls...poor girls working in the little shops, middle class girls working in "centro", rich girls in baja. They are all beautiful and sexy.
G,
You gotta go. You will love it. The place oozes "International Playboy"!

Man Acai na Tigela is my favorite food in the world. That shit must have crack in it. I eat it all the time whenever I'm in Brazil. Sometimes that's all I eat because normal food in places like Rio isn't that good. I usually get Acai com Morango e Proteinato.
Took this pic of an Acai bowl I had from Beach Sucos a few days ago

I'll probably return while Qwest is there. If there's anything I can stress to the forum about Rio, it's to try your best to learn as much Portuguese as possible. It will go a long way!

We desperately needed a boot on the ground to update us about Rio and Hen delivered. Thanks for the breakdown.
I'll be Rio in no later than about two weeks and will be staying there for at least a month. I'll definitely provide some details during my stay as the extended time will let me really evaluate the place well.
Having already spent about a month there this past year in two stints, I also find the place magical and think almost everything said about it is overblown. There certainly are some negatives as Hen pointed out, but I think almost every city has those...

If you see a girl out alone in Rio she's a prostitute.

Haha I am two blocks from there. My boy told me about that spot.
HC I probably passed you on the beach. You rollin dolo or you got two boys with you. I want to say I remember you being a young cat. I'm 27 and saw 3 black Americans younger than me. The rest of the black cats are OG's.
I am loving the scene though. I am trying to make as much contacts as I can so next trip I can make as much money as I can while I am out here.
The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Yeah I was there dolo. Club Help was shut down a few years ago. I went there on my first visit to Rio in 2008 but it was no longer there in 2010.

Was kickin it with two girls in ipanema. My homeboy smashed one on his last trip. She is married, a solid 6. Her friend was a cool chick. English was okay. So we are walking, trying to catch the parade and the rain comes down. My boys girl was adamant about catching the parade. We told them to come to the apartment. We finally catch the parade and the girl still wanted follow it. My girl was down to come back but o girl wanted to stay in the rain. We ended up leaving them. So close.
Today the beach and mall. More rain in the forecast.

Cool. That rain is so annoying. Reason I left Rio early. A lot of guys end up taking down mediocre girls in Rio. Seems there's a lot of 6s for the taking. Higher level takedowns requires Port skills or social circle. I think I'm going to hit up Belo Horizonte on my next Brazil visit. It's more of a bar scene which is to my advantage and there's tons of 9s and 10s around. Not a tourist city either so girls are probably more interested in meeting a gringo. My boy in Rio went to BH for the weekend and cleaned up nicely at this party. ONS.

Excellent post on Rio.
It seems you've given a very objective analysis on the place, which as Roosh said is what we needed.
I've been learning Portuguese for 3 months. I'm glad it wasn't all for nothing.

You guys keep getting rained on because you went to the tropics at the peak of [their]summer. When I went it was April and the weather was like paradise. In the upper 70s almost every day, wasn't humid. There was some rain, but it wasn't oppressive and endless. Maybe a quick thunderstorm and it cleared out in an hour. I only remember one or two days where it was really hot and uncomfortably muggy.
HC, I've heard good about the girls of Belo Horizonte too, but I hear also don't go there if your PT isn't tight.

That's true about BH - far less English speakers. I'm going with my boy who speaks Port so hopefully that will help. I'm going to learn as much Port between now and then myself. Looking to make that move between now and March. My friend who was down in BH for the weekend pulled a 9 who actually spoke English. Lucky bastad!

Regarding the speaking of English, would it be safe to say that the further inland you go in Brazil, the less English is spoken? Since Rio and Sao Paulo are tourist/business centers, you'll find more English speakers, but what about other major coastal cities to the North and South?
