Calcio Storico - Most macho and insane sport ever?!

After being alerted to it by Vorkuta in the 'Hardest Sports' thread, I've been reading up and watching stuff about this, translated literally as 'Historic Football' its basically a crazy free-for-all of violence. The only thing not allowed is kicking people when they're down. I'd love to attend one of the matches, which are held only on three dates a year in June. Check out some of these videos.

Great documentary, its got English dubbing in parts too. Not that I mind subtitles though...

This looks raw, like something out of ancient Rome. It's clearly an homage to the ancient gladiator sports. Gotta love that it's played on a dirt field.
