lol - sorry about the title of the thread!
Just curious when you first took a step towards 'red-pill thinking'. I spend alot of time on the internet. And I remember marginalrevolution.com (great site!) mentioning a post by Roissy. Yet - rather pompously refusing to provide a link. No big deal after a minute searching on GOOGLE.
But deeper than that. I remember being in a restaurant with my brother and proudly proclaiming to him that 'I fucking hate women'.
Now that statement needs clarifying. But - the proclaimation - led me to realise that alot of the gender roles I had being raised with needed questioning. For years - I wondered why chicks were less interesting and cool than my guy friends. And from that I started to realise that alot of my thinking was filtered through years of music, film and TV which portrayed men searching (and finding) some mystical 'deep bond' with women which I didn't see existing in real life.
It is funny how people can spend years studying philosophy and analysing politics. And yet will not honestly question alot of the unconscious information which is fed into them from birth.
Over time. I started to break shit down nice and simple. Women should look hot and - ideally - be pleasant. Guys should do interesting shit and be cool.
Simples.
Anything deeper than that - is the western media trying to corrupt us into going against our true selves. And it is this which leads to hipster/arty/betas going crazy and being really unhappy and suicidal, because the fantasy in their heads is not reflected by reality. Indeed - it is probably this contradiction which lies behind most of the art produced in the western world.
I am interested in self-reinforcing beliefs. And studying subjects like hypnosis (it isn't what you think it is by the way), North Korea, magic (I have intensively studied sleight-of-hand and magic for the past 15 years), placebos, nocebos, religious visions and even mass delusions like 'Vanishing Penis epidemics' - Click Here - is a real eye-opener into seeing how widely ideas can spread and be believed when there is nobody trying to question them.
I think alot of men are unhappy because they are searching for some 'deep' mystical connection with women (as is programmed into them through the media). Yet - they never realise they are chasing a phantom which doesn't exist.
Romantic love truly is the new religion in an age where people no longer believe in God.
Anyway - a little while later I discovered Patrice O'Neal and his 'The Black Phillip Show'. And that is like discovering steroids - 2 weeks after first entering a gym.
As the old saying goes. 'When the student is ready, the teacher will appear'.
