Anyone want a portable income?

I'm happy to learn that I'll soon have a smart and talented young intern coming here to Indonesia. He's offered to work for room and board, but my plan is to suck him in to a long term engagement by giving him commissions, and get him addicted to wealth and power, and in building his empire build mine. He seems like a cool and capable guy, and I'm glad to be in a position to give him some very lucrative opportunities.

So I thought, I wonder if it's possible to build up a long term community of cool guys who have business interests together, as well as lifestyle interests?

For anyone who wants to intern, I'd be very picky - we'd need some good bro chemistry as well as strong talents to pool. But I'm sure there are ways we can network to help our portable incomes too.

I have a new venture underway for a product with strong niche demand, high price, repeat business guaranteed, no competition, and global demand. And I have some other projects that have competition, but are easy to market and I can supply at a competitive price.

I often hear people complain that having a portable income is a big challenge. Well, for anyone who actually wants a high portable income, I have it here for you on a silver platter. No more excuses about how escaping the US is too difficult, or of how this or that reason has you tied down. If you want it, you can do it.

And even more interesting would be if we get some cool guys together who have integrity and simpatico to make a life long partnership of wealth, power, lifestyle, and fun.

Note: I put this in the travel section as it's about portable income. Guys with the travel bug might be more interested in this kind of thing.

Further details about the products can be discussed in PM and email after we sort out other details.

And Dulceácido, the catch is that the person would have to work to earn income, and that I'd make more money from his efforts than he would.

Guys who are interested, please PM me with details about yourself, including background, interests, strengths, what you have to offer, your desired time commitment, and anything else you can think of.

I'm trying to find self motivated creative and intelligent people. I know such people are rare. There might be room for basic grunt workers too, but if so I'd have an apprentice manage them. Mostly what I'm interested in now is finding people with talent, time, and drive. Who I like.

There's a guy named Michael Bodekaer Jensen who started something like that, called Project Getaway. He's a former McKinsey consultant who has started several tech companies, and now brings people under him to villas in Thailand and Bali to learn from him, and they also get motivated by each other. At the conclusion of the apprenticeship each student is then supposed to be running their own tech biz.

Ya, this will be an interesting experiment. I'm confident that we'll find synergy and greater success working together than alone.

I've been living off entrepreneurial income for nearly all of my adult life, and there have been times when the living was hand to mouth poverty, where rent didn't get paid, and where I had to dig into the coin stash to pay for the nights booze. Going it alone is challenging. I've seen wild swings up and down, and long stretches of grind. I've learned hard lessons about not exposing myself to too much risk, about not overextending my time, about keeping expenses low when income is low. And then spent years trying to build up businesses using only cash flow. I can understand why people prefer a safe paycheck.

But nowadays I earn more than you see in the average paycheck, and now I can be the safety net for would be entrepreneurs.

I was reading in another thread how people who travel often get hate from their home town compatriots. There was a theory that people get nervous about stepping outside of their cocoon. Traveling to another country is a big step that changes people, and people resist that. Entrepreneurship is also a big step. And the cocoon is even harder to break. The cost to me for breaking it was decades of ups and downs and struggle.

So I think the apprenticeship idea can be the way to ease people out of the cocoon. It's not a salary offered, but it's freedom from fear of not being able to pay the rent, with the possibility of growing up commissions to a level higher than a paycheck, and experience at growing up businesses from scratch. And I hope the experience will be more - I'm excited about the idea about making a major shift in my business model, and becoming more of a co-operation. A corporation of men who accomplish more together than they could alone. We can bounce ideas off of each other, motivate each other - much in the same way that is done on this forum.

There are several projects and opportunities that are on the backburner and won't be discussed for some time, but I think a good group can slowly and step by step expand our ventures.

Thanks for everyone who has responded so far, and for everyone else, there is risk and opportunity out there; this is a very interesting time to do entrepreneurial work.

You know the ship that always sinks? Yep, it's the partnerSHIP.

I'd be very careful in venturing with anyone online. What's keeping that person from taking your ideas and just transfer it over to a business where he won't have to give you 33% of it? Yep, nothing.

That's a sound insight, and that's what's kept me being very Chinese in my approach to business so far.

However one of my ventures has a very large financial and technological barrier to entry, and my plan is to risk that this will be disincentive enough for upstarts.

Also, note the popularity of affiliate marketing. What's to stop affiliates from becoming producers? Basically, it's the barriers to entry.

Don't Ponzi schemes require money to be paid to the pyramid chief? It doesn't sound like you know what a Ponzi scheme is.

Is negativity your default attitude, or just in matters entrepreneurial?

And anyway, good luck to you brother! Does that read like passive aggressive snark to you too?

Xsplat,
I am interested in some opportunities in Asia. I have been traveling there for the past 6 years. I just recently sold my business in America and I am in Mexico getting into shape and searching for other investments to add to my lifestyle makeover. Can you use another guy/investor? If so I would like to talk with you.

Anyone want a portable income?

dropshipping

we are talking of geo freedom: to seperate the source of revenue to the necessity to be at a specific time and place (yup we are talking about total freedom)

one obvious option is ecommerce: you can make your money WHEREVER you are.

This bring one very specific concept: dropshipping.

what is dropshipping:
you built a website, you find a buyer, you sell a product.

the dropshipper build/create / supply the product and ship it directly to your client,

you charge the client, the dropshipper charge you (dropshipper will actually put your name on the product shipped!  as if it came from YOUR warehouse)

advantage: no inventory, no upfront cost, you can only make a profit!  just about everything can be fully automated

con : well yeah you make a little less money...but this allows just about as little risk you can take in ecommerce.

whatever product you want to sell  I can probably get you the dropshipper for it...for a cut of the action...just pm me.  don't ask for 'what's the one with the hugest profit margin' I don't have time for that... choose something you know and move forward... take action...do your research...and think of a niche.  and most of all choose something you like and will have fun  with. chose a product you 'love' and/or you KNOW how to get clients for that product....do NOT look for clients....instead look for SOURCES of clients that will FEED the sytem...now...think...think...think...you are ALMOST there.

what I can do and teach you to do in less than 30 minutes (yes my time is worth more than yours...luckily for you...I'm one of the good guys...mostly because I do not need you money [Image: wink.gif]

create a website and get you to page one of google within 15 minutes
yess..you will have to pay google... but I can probably get you a 100$ google credit (cause you know... they love me...a lot)

you know...on google ..you are on page 1.... or you are nothing [Image: smile.gif]

based on sale result i can (and this took me 3 years to learn how to 'legally' do this...so....good luck trying to do this on your own...) get you on page 1 of google WITHOUT having to pay google (this is called natural google..your site is just the most pertinent to this or that keywords)

careful here...a lot of people will offer you the moon here...chances are your website WILL be banned/penalized from google...BE careful who you trust. this is SERIOUS. dont f. this up......

I can guaranty result to the point that you pay WHEN your webpage reach page one of google (you must put the money intrust to any  lawyer in CANADA..) YES I am that confident in my habilities.... you have to pay a small monthly upkeep to stay in page one position...but we can negotiate such things.

I would love to build a database of geo freedom businesses that we could promote as a group.

I would also love to structure a system that would allow potential investors to make an average of 10% ROI doing...well nothing (must be secured...but by what and by whom!???) my financial advisor, when asked this question...never have an answer to my  question...my theory is: too many pigs eat in my plate...nothing is left....

what I can easily do for you:
get you to page one of google (takes time and money) for any website/busines and associated keyword, I'm getting pretty good at evalutating such thing...And I'll bite the bullet if I'm wrong

publish your book (both physical and ebooks) and sell it on internet
....I was thinking of creating a book (how to..step by step) for sugardaddies....on a budget [Image: wink.gif].... anyone interested to look like a millionaire, feell like a millionnaire and act like a millionnaire...all that on a 'normal' budget...great way to get that super model...on your private jet...at an affordable price...or that castle in 'la vallé de la loire'....for less than you think...yes I can do that for you ...I'm funny that way.

I also do graphics, covers (for your ebook), illustations and I can create a one of a kind handmaid painting of any picture (real or in your head)  ...  art of this quality is usualy worth 25-50k...I do it for fun ...my porfolio is available if you wish to contact me.

Also I presently have over 15 employees working for me (mostly from india and the philipine, usually paid less than 2$ per hours...I can help you with concierge, personnal assitant, programmers etc... just ask..I will make it happen.

In résumé:

we should, as a group, make a list of businesses that really works and are geo independant...and for god sake...help one another!
