New to the forum got a few questions..

Hey Guys

I have been reading Roosh's blog for a while now and have been cruising the forums for quite some time soaking in a lot of good information. I am totally moved by the travel/pua lifestyle and really want to get my shit together in the hopes of living the life you guys talk about/live on a routine basis.

Not much for introductions but I am a young guy (26) with little gaming experience and have been living in the burbs all my life (formally West Palm Beach Florida..now Marietta Ga). I am hell bent on getting out of this town with my education and am looking to hit up graduate school for either occupational therapy or physical therapy. I am into lots of things health related (Yoga, Weight Lifting, Meditation, Cardiovascular) so it seems a natural match for me to pursue something in the health sciences.

I am currently confused on a few things that I have been looking at as to what is in store for me as I plan out the next five years of my life.

1.)I want to have a “college experience."

since my undergraduate years sucked balls and visiting Athens a few times getting down at UGA I realized I missed out on something. I graduated with a high G.P.A. (3.7) and got lots of “attaboys” (numerous debate awards, leadership program certificates, tutoring minorities, study abroad to Brazil) and being I am a minority (African-American) I should have no problem getting into a good school with a large population of students looking to have fun. The problem is where would the best place for me to go?

Emotion wise I am all about the University Of Florida since I am a die hard Gator fan and it is a top tier school for my field/partying. My only drawback is that it is in Gainsville which means even more small town nonsense when part of me is itching to live a city lifestyle. Any UF grads here that can clue me in one what it is like being a student at the University Of Florida? I was also looking at University Of Southern California (Since it is in LA), University Of Texas and University Of Santa Barbra, University of Miami, all party schools, all have reputation for being in great in my field.

2.)Miami/La

I was looking at these two cities as a place to start my career once graduate school is done but I am turned off by some of the comments on the forum. For one I am not shallow or materialistic at all (Vegetarian, Yogi, Thrift Store Vet, Spiritual, Far more Henry David Thoreau then Christian Troy ) and it seems that from what I hear unless I am rocking Gucci or driving an SL500 Benz the ladies won't even look at me (I got some good looks but can't compete with big rollers with dough if that is what the women in those cities are looking for).

That said, I have been broke all my life and chances are when I start making a salary I may rock the 2003 SL 500 (my field starts pay at 70k) but I can't see myself spending 2000 grand on a shirt or a night at some bar/club (rather save the money for travel). Bottom line....does a hippie type Lenny Kravitz looking Mfer that rocks Bahia Afro-Brazilian beads, black high top converse with a punk rock style..rather then gold chains and Express For Men clothes stand a chance hooking up with a random approach on a Brazilian girl in Miami or a “I'm an actress” girl in L.A.? Of course not every girl can be stereotyped as one category in both cities (I'm sure the girls of Hollywood versus the ones in Venice are different or Miami Beach versus Miami) but just want to see where would I fit in (if I could even fit in at all).

3.) South Florida Vs Southern California

Kinda leaks off of my second question but if you had to choose where would you live which would you choose and why (Pros/Cons)? I heard SOCAL is great for me being a New Age kind of guy but in terms of dating/gaming it blows and it is really expensive to live there (but the weed flows like water and that is something I can dig [Image: banana.gif]). I heard SOFL is great for dating, cheaper then SOCAL, more South American Latin, Caribbean Black or European women (which I prefer) but everything else sucks.

4.) How the fuck do you make small town game happen?

I have been going the same bars and clubs week after week and it blows [Image: sad.gif]. Atlanta is only 30 minutes away but Day2's are tough to set up since I can only go in the city once or twice a week and usually I'd rather be gaming then chilling with a cold approach. I accept my plate but shit it seems my University (3rd largest in the state of GA) and all 5 bars are the only places to game in Marietta, everything else is Atlanta.

Let me know whats up

Hey & welcome,

Think you should post this under girls and btw girls might like money, but thats should never keep you from meeting and engaging woman... not all woman are gold diggers and if you are an attractive guy and interesting then the gucci shit wont matter much. Btw I think Gucci etc. brands are for the middle class that wanna think they are high class... real rich people dont wear junk like that..

Its like the shit the sell to kids in kindergarten making them believe that "big" kids going to school have it to be cool...

But your probably right about the miami bimbos [Image: smile.gif] I have no clue being a nordic guy from Denmark... if thats your game plan, make the setup happen, your young; get what you want, when you want it..

1) Can't help you on that one
2) Don't get too wrapped up in the L.A. stereotypes. There's all kinds of people here. It's just a city, like any other with a wide variety of lifestyles. Anyone can be accommodated. We're not all aspiring actors buying $500 bottles of goose at clubs.
3) Yeah it's expensive here, no way around that. Though not as bad as it was a couple years ago at the peak of the housing boom. One bedroom apartments can be had for $850 if you look carefully. Cheaper if you don't mind living in a shitty area.
4) Hmm, not sure man, I've never lived in a small town. Might want to hit some girls up online since you can search a much wider area. I know this forum is all about face-to-face game, but in a small college town where you see the same damn girls every time you go out, online might be the only way to widen the net until you can move to a bigger city.

Never been to Miami and it's been a while since I've spent any time in L.A., but both places definitely seem to have their pros and cons. Like you're saying both places seem to be pretty big on the superficial lifestyle tip, money, materialism, etc., but like Speakeasy is saying L.A. is a big city with a very diverse population, so I am sure you can find your niche so to speak, as well as in Miami. I am sure L.A. would be more expensive, hell almost all of Cali. is really expensive, so that might factor into your decision. From how you describe yourself, it sounds like you'd fit in perfectly in Santa Cruz/San Fran/Berkeley, but these are some of the most expensive areas in the whole country. And to answer your question about the herbs, yes California definitely has the best quality, variety, and prices, and in Nov. there will be a referendum that voters might decide to make it legal to buy, and smoke it if you're 21 and over, it is already decriminalized, and you can easily get it for medical. I have spent some time in Santa Barbara and the town/college is legit stacked with a high percentage of very fine women ( 9 and 10's), and most of them are white girls if that's what you prefer. S.B. is also a very rich area so expect the prices and attitudes, it's not too diverse (mostly white), but you might be able to use that to your advantage with the exotic factor.
I hear good things about Austin, Texas and will be making a 4 day trip in May to check it out. Worst thing I hear about it is that it is in Texas, so there will be more conservatism and what not, but it is supposed to be a liberal bubble with an alternative crowd, good music, hot women, party scene, etc. You might want to keep that one as an option. I personally, would probably want to get out of the south, so that's where my bias would land as far as advice to you, although I must admit that the women are hot, and their can be a good party crowd. If you got the time and the means check out Austin and Cali., see how you like it and figure if you can find a way to make it out here (scholarship, job, hustling, etc.) You sound like more of an alternative type which I can relate with, so I'd day overall Cali. is more of an open minded, liberal, counter culture scene, which you might find refreshing coming from the south.
Finally, I feel you on the small town game, I'm kind of letting it get to me too much where I'm at. I know I need to take Tupac's advice ("keep ya head up"), but it can get frustrating, I'm struggling right now, so no real advice to give. I would say that I'm trying to take the approach of "planting seeds" because I often see the same girls every week at the bars, I'm not trying to be the dude bouncing from girl to girl acting all desperate to get phone numbers, etc. It just sucks here because there isn't the highest percentage of cute girls, and most time the bars are like 3 to 1 guys to girls, so it can turn into a shark tank with multiple dudes all vying to talk to the same few chicks. Anyways, hope this helps, peace!

Sorry the post was not in the right area but I figured since I'm introducing myself I would post it in general

I agree with what you are saying..

Most rich people I know are cheap as hell (know a multimillionaire that stays driving his Geo Metro) and don't really give a shit about the Gucci, Prada, Vera Wang stuff. Although, I do see the middle class who are vying to be rich go with the Versachi wanna be motif.

Thanks for the info and I'm all about laying a foundation for something new in my life. I can't stand staying here in smalltown Ga anymore.

Awesome information

I read an article in this past months Rolling Stone about the Weed Industry in California and was inspired by all the holistic stuff that they talked about (one lady had a weed/yoga spa in Venice). I know that values wise California seems to fit my personality and having lived in the conservative as hell south for over a decade it might be quite a culture shock.
The drawbacks of course are cost, cost, and more cost can't really draw any conclusions until I visit the place but I guess I like speculating a lot.

In terms of Miami I am mostly interested in the place for the women, latino culture and close proximity to South America (where I want to spend vast amounts of vacation time). Also, being back in South Florida would be a nice nostalgic bonus but given my nature if I can walking around and all I see is rich people with attitudes, poor kids trying to look rich and conversation to be had is only about the fashion industry and what club you are at or who you are connected too, I'd find myself in Key West a lot faster then I thought. Not into the self-absorbed narcissistic type of people (although that mentality does breed a lot of hot women [Image: banana.gif]) I guess it is another place I will have to visit.

Austin from what I hear is a happening town and the University Of Texas was ranked the #1 party school in the country by a poll not that long ago. I could see myself having a blast there but then again I am no Longhorn fan and chances are I may want to hit up UF instead.

Smalltown game blows....so much so that I am seriously considering not even gaming for the rest of the year and focusing on getting a fulltime job and moving to ATL until my ship out of here takes off. Although there is a lot of pussy where my college is...you kind of get thed up of going around the same stomping grounds that you have been at for the past five years. I am getting tired of that look from students asking me "Why are you still here?

Trust me I know...[Image: confused.gif]
