Lena Dunham and the HBO series "Girls"

I find the cultural phenomenon of Lena Dunham very interesting. She represents so many of the cultural trends that Roosh and this forum's members are warring against: the self-entitlement of fat girls; the shameless indulgence of young women in hook-up culture; the attitude that they will embrace their overweight bodies rather than a self-disciplined pursuit of a slender, attractive appearance.

Here are some articles ... the first two are pretty negative. I like the way this Washington Times article (the first one linked below) discusses the relation between Dunham's character Hannah and her fuck-buddy Adam, who treats her like shit.

OGNorCal had a good thread about Girls.

New HBO show "Girls" looks super lame

I went to school with a girl who's a writer for the show.

Even though I hate it, Girls provides a very insightful look at the mindset of SWPLs.

Edit - The main Girl reminds me of a female George Wendt.

How does this garbage even make it to T.V.?

The reality of fat American sluts is bad enough. Why does anyone need to watch a show about it?

She has family connections in New York art and media circles:

"Her father, Carroll Dunham, is a painter of "overtly sexualised pop art", and her mother, Laurie Simmons, is a photographer and designer who creates "disquieting domestic tableaux" with dolls. Dunham's father is Protestant, and according to Dunham, a Mayflower descendant; Dunham's mother is Jewish. She has a younger sister, Grace, who is a model and student at Brown University and who starred in Dunham's first film Tiny Furniture. As children, both Lena and Grace were babysat by photographers Sherri Zuckerman and Catherine McGann."

From Wikipedia.

The fact is, most of the crap we see in entertainment and the media, especially from young talentless shits like Lena Dunham, are the result of networking and nepotism.

Exactly. Even worse, the show is produced by Judd Apatow. He is the perfect example of Hollywood - nepotism at it's "best". All of his movies star the same pieces of entitled shit. His stupid ugly annoying wife Leslie Mann is forced on us on as are his 2 daughters (Knocked Up for example). Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill (superbad), Paul Rudd (always plays a super beta), Steve Carell (always plays a super beta). Judd Apatow created Bridesmaids with fat asses Rebel Wilson and Melissa McCarthy. The best thing we can do is not watch this shit. And do not go see any of Judd Apatows movies, I for one am not giving him any of my hard earned money so he can promote his agenda and force this shit on us. Fuck the mainstream media. Sorry for all of the profanity, I get very passionate about the brainwashing of America.

Dunham is plain sloppy. She has some comic value, but with her as the center of that show, it's appalling.

I'm looking at that picture I posted of Lena Dunham sitting on the toilet eating a birthday cake, and seriously ... couldn't that be the classic icon of contemporary American women? It has it all: shamelessly showing her fat naked body, shamelessly shoveling food in her face, shamelessly focusing on "me" with her birthday cake, shameless in its coarseness (she's EATING while EXCRETING and BEING FILMED TOTALLY NAKED WHILE DOING THOSE THINGS).

Wow. I think we've got the voice of a generation here, fellas. If you are ever inclined to doubt what type of women you're dealing with out there in the field ... look at this picture, and it will remind you.

Nothing technically wrong with what you said, but the show has been a commercial success, so it's not like nepotism was a bad strategy.

She is gross, as they say, 'by every implication of her being.' She looks like...

Lena Dunham and the HBO series "Girls"

I've seen the first two episodes.

This show is surprisingly red pill.

I'll illustrate. I don't remember the character's names, but the first two episodes revolve around two guy-girl pairs.

Pair one: main character girl and this guy. She complains that he never texts her. Eventually she calls him and they meet up at his apartment. They shoot the shit for a few minutes, until he tells her "You shouldn't be anyone's slave--but mine," and then they fuck on his couch. He gives her commands during sex. When she leaves in the morning, he barely lifts his head off the pillow. Despite the fact that he's a loser with no job, he has a don't-give-a-fuck attitude and she is strongly attracted to him.

Pair two: boyfriend and girlfriend. Girl confesses to her friend that she is losing attraction with the guy. The boyfriend is a beta, always supplicating to his girlfriend. In sex and in general, he keeps asking what she wants to do. She has an argument telling him "you should be a man, you should be comfortable in doing what you want and pissing me off sometimes!"

Take a good, hard look fellow Westerners. That's the state of the Western woman. It's not even a satire - that unshapely, disgusting, bulbous mass isn't comic relief: that's what "Girls" envision themselves as now.

Saving a picture to my phone. Next time some skank gets rustled when I tell her I refuse to date American women, this'll be my go to reference.

For fucking shame, America.

She's a disgusting sloth. It's sad that this culture has allowed a revolting slag like her to headline and front a show on a top TV channel. This should would never make it to the screen in many other countries.

You know, when I posted on this thread yesterday I was on my phone and couldn't really get the full effect from all the images. Now that I can see them in their ghastly horror I'm getting legitimately upset. Pissed off. Enraged.

This "woman" is fucking foul. Fat. Unshapely. Gelatinous. But that's not even the worst part.

We've allowed society to get so utterly fucked that she not only has her own TV show glorifying her completely redundant existence, but it's on HBO. HB-fucking O. The Home Box Office. A premium channel. Something people pay extra for. A stamp of quality. The same network that brought us The Sopranos, Entourage, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, etc., etc.

Maybe the Mayans were right.

EDIT: Also, did anyone read the NYPost article. Kind of funny, actually.

OK seriously what is wrong with you guys?! i saw the entire series yesterday. I couldnt stop watching it! That show is reality, complete reality! No holds barred either, I could predict as well as my roomate everything that would happen, no sex and the city or Hollywood brainwashing here.

I think Im going to buy the series and force my younger sister to watch it so she sees what happens if she turns into a whore or goes hardcore hippy or develops a self entitlement mentality or gets fat and ugly like the main character. They even paired the characters acccurately! You dont see hot guys hitting on the main character and her FB she calls a boyfriend is an ugly guy whose just barely decent enough to treat her like shit. And not once does ANY character - guy or girl - get bailed out of making crappy decisions. Its nitty gritty reality.

I think the world would be a better place if girls watched more shows like this than crap like sex and the city. But guys with little exposure to game can benefit from it too. I even saw some pretty decent game being run by the alfa characters in this show lmao A lot to learn if you havent been around the block a few times.

Hate on it all you want but this is the kind of show we should be applauding, and if you have younger sisters you care about buy the first season for them. Anyone whose watched the first 3 episodes will agree with me.

I'll join in on praising this show.

It's incredibly "red pill" and is probably one of the more honest representations of sexuality there is. Worth a watch.

the only bad thing is that I feel this show was firing on all cylinders until the end of the season - probably when they found out they were renewed, and got a little wishy washy in the end (hope that doesn't last into season 2, the first few episodes of Girls were incredible).

It was indeed the first ever TV portrait of the "nice guy" and how he doesn't get the girl at all, and how everyone thinks he's a little bitch.

I've only see like 10 minutes of it, seemed like a waste of time. I can't stand 5 seconds of the main character.

So is it red pill by accident or by design?
