I've only heard of T-Nation and Strong Lifts.

Any other good ones out there?

Favorite Strength/Fitness Blogs?

http://myconvictconditioning.blogspot.com/

This one is probably my favorite fitness blog. Not for the profound insight or a mastery of the knowledge of strength training, but for his dedication to a single program and only that program for years.

It's probably the best and only convict conditioning resource anyone should bother reading because there aren't legions of jacked manimals from the convict conditioning program all over the internet who claim to have mastered the steps and have pictures and documentation to prove it.

I did convict conditioning for about eight months, but I didn't follow the program like this guy did (came up with my own rep, set, and progression schemes) and he seems to be doing just fine at the age of 43.

My biggest criticism of the CC program is the lack of proper volume. Actual prisoners do pushups all day; if you start with the CC program you might only be doing two sets of five to ten once a week.

There is a very infamous British prisoner called Charles Bronson, Tom Hardy played him in an art-house movie about his life.

He's written a book which is essentially an authentic convict workout. He's been in solitary confinement for most of his adult life. He does 3000 press-ups (push-ups) a day, although I don't think that's mandated in the book.

The reviews are very good anyway. I've put up the amazon.com link rather than the .uk as there's more Americans on here.

I'd also like to add Jim Bathurst's blog and Al Kavadlos blog.

http://www.beastskills.com/

http://www.alkavadlo.com/

They're both great resources if you're into bodyweight strength training.

There's also Building the Gymnastic Body for those who are into gymnastics

http://www.gymnasticbodies.com/

Not really a blog, but still a great resource.

I'd like to whore out my blog as long as I'm at it. I haven't been posting regularly but I like to think that most of it is quality content.

+1 to Mobilitywod. I started today doing the first 2 WODs. Holy sh-t am I tight in certain spots. Def. after the little stretches, I was feeeling a lot more limber. My hips are very tight as well as my quads.

I highly recommend starting from the very beginning. Page 91 i believe.

End result, I realize I sit in a chair wayyyy too long everyday.

GB workouts are intense. You doing them?

http://www.strengthvillain.com/ is ok. I think the concept has great potential, but the guy running the show doesn't really do it for me. Similar to Bold and Determined, but with more emphasis on strength training. B&D is much better.

He has a dozen or more ebooks, all very similar in concept, that he overprices to sell to his audience. He also has a hilarious post on chivalry: http://www.strengthvillain.com/?p=1399

Still worth checking out though.

A man always opens the car door for a woman, and closes it once she is in and secure. My wife has learned not to question me on this one after challenging its necessity one time in the rain. “My PopPop would beat my ass if he saw me let you open your own door” was my reply, which was understood (keep in mind, if alive he would be 81 years old, and yes, would still terrify me).

A man always pays for everything (or at least always offers first).

A man always pulls out a woman’s chair when sitting down in a public place. He waits until she is situated before seating himself.

A man always carries the bags when shopping, or at least the majority of them. He should always have a hand free or easily freed up if called upon to strike down a fool.

A man opens and holds the door for ANY woman when entering/leaving any public place. A real man does not rush ahead to do this only for hotties, he acts the same whether she’s eighteen or eighty (the hot ones won’t be impressed by your drooling over them anyway).

A man pays women compliments when they are warranted. The thought of doing this to strange women may seem creepy to some, but if it does, you’ve got more work to do. A truly confident man never comes off as creepy to a female.

A man will hold his woman’s hand in public and is not at all uncomfortable with other public displays of affection. If he’s chosen this woman as his own, he proudly demonstrates his commitment to her. The act of “escorting” or having her loop her arm in yours is not seen much these days, but is one of the baddest things you can do as a male. You’d be hard pressed to see my wife and I walking where she is not clutching me affectionately in this manner.

A man protects a woman no matter the situation. He is proactive in squashing any disrespect of her regardless of the degree or situation. This past weekend while my wife danced for me with another girl at a small nightclub a young drunk guy approached and attempted to dance with the two of them. A quick “Hey” from my seat at the table attracted his attention, and a simple shake of my head was all that was required to get the message across. He approached me, shook my hand, and asked to buy me a drink, which I declined respectfully. A mature villain is not hot headed in nature, but calm, and assertive. He carries himself in a manner that speaks louder than words, and therefore has to utter few of them.

http://www.hulsestrength.com/ but Elliot's YouTube channel is where the good info is. http://www.youtube.com/user/strengthcamp

He likes to talk a lot but it is just because he wants to fully explain himself without giving misconceptions to his viewers. Not only does he talk about fitness and strength but also gives some pretty good lifestyle tips.

Its not really a blog, but if youre looking to start/ refine weight training, Arnold's encyclopedia of bodybuilding is unbeatable. Theres like 700 pages of information coming from a 7x Mr. Olympia.

My favorite is Chaos and Pain, which is already listed above.
Some other good ones:

http://www.myosynthesis.com/guide -- you can tell the guy who writes this is a fascinating guy. He's very knowledgeable on a wide range of topics.

http://www.lift-run-bang.com/ -- another good one. Common sense advice from a guy with decades in the gym.

For a while Jamie Lewis from C&P did a podcast with Paul Carter from Lift-Run-Bang. There are around 15-20 hilarious and informative episodes. Highly recommended. It's called 'Chaos and Bang Your Earballs' or something like that.

Man any ones you've found to help out with the hamstrings/lower back?

I tweaked my hamstring doing good mornings (I was only doing 135 lb, but I guess that was too heavy or I had a mobility issue), last week my lower back got super sore (muscular soreness) after some light-ish deadlifts. Today I cut my deadlifts off at my warmup of 275lbx5 (I did one rep and stopped right there) when I was supposed to be working with 365x5.

I've been doing the stuff I wrote about on RoK but something is really off, my squat feels shitty as well (I almost dumped a heavier weight over my head because my back tightness gave out).

I was subscribed to StrongLifts, but Mehdi got really annoying bashing all kinds of people much stronger than him. Still best strength/muscle gain program for beginners and intermediates. T-nation is another good one, though it has ton of BS too.
