Medellin - searching for a room

Medellin - searching for a room

Hi,

i fly to Medellin on 27. May and need an apartment/room there.

My plan was that i go first into something like a hostel, learn some people to know and a few days later i search for an apartment. Is that a good plan?

Long term i want to have my own shower and i travel with electronics worth 2-3k$ and two bigger bags. I also need some time alone for working. So i defintly need a locker and a singleroom.

Any suggestions?

Price - for the apartment i want to spend anything between 600 and 1600.

Sounds like a plan. If you want to share a flat (with a local), which could be a good idea in terms of making your social circle bigger, i'd recommend to check out http://www.compartoapto.com

There's also an older thread here where i was asking about the different suburbs of medellin - you can find it with search option probably.

Scipio

I'm in San Gil right now, 8 hours bus ride from Medellin - and I'm going to catch that bus in the next day or two.

Want to go sarging?

What have you found for renting so far?

And is there any one else on these boards that are currently in Colombia or elsewhere in South America? I'm traveling through all this year.

You probably dont need the locker if the apartment building has 24 hour security gaurd.
