Merida, Venezuela

Considering a trip. How to get there, places to stay, nightlife spots, potential problems, quality of women, unique experiences, etc.

Any info and suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd postpone that trip. Venezuela is not the same as 5 years ago. Crime is out of control and there's also currency problems where you get robbed at the ATM with the "official" exchange rate. If you go take a stack of cash and exchange on the black market.

id heard venezuela had crazy crime and wasnt safe.

its a shame that a country with such fine women is almost non-visitable due to crime and corruption.

Merida was my fav city in venezuela

Birosca Carioca is the best bar. El hoyo is good too

take dollars and change your cash on the black market. If you dont and use the official bank rate then everything will work out double the price

there are a lot of hot girls there

day game opportunities are good too

i never had any safety / crime problems there

I've read that Merida is nowhere near as dangerous as caracas and is actually pretty safe. I plan on spending as little time in caracas as possible and hopefully catch a flight to Merida as soon as I land in caracas. I've read both good and bad things about Venezuela.

To Lumiere: How do you exchange money if you don't want to get fucked using the official atm exchange rate? I've read anything from tourist agencies to going to family owned shops where they import goods as it's easier to buy using US dollars.

Thanks for answering. I may postpone this trip as Roosh suggested and hit Colombia first. It depends how much time I have to burn.

Hello guys, my first post!

I'm going to Merida in few weeks and I would like get some tips for my trip.

1. Is it easy to find and rent own villa? We are three guys going and we would like to stay in our own accommodation with pool and so on...
2. Hows the nightlife?
3. Car rental, is it possible? How much?

Everything that comes to your mind about Merida is welcome.
