Racism in sports as of late

Not only this, but Hispanic high school basketball players and teams get heckled in the lines of where are your papers! Implying they are all border jumpers. This doesn't make the news headlines as much as other stories. Jeremy Lin made headlines which opened up people's eyes a bit regarding Asian athletes.

Caucasian basketball players being called white boy etc is never newsworthy. Usually it is said to hurt, marginalize or insult another race. To put somebody down. Far too often it is said in this context. But it's not newsworthy or deemed racist.

Black hockey players get it bad in Europe by some fans, but also are prized by some local women who throw themselves at them as being exotic. Throwing a banana at these players is uncalled for and totally wrong. If he the player, did something moronic (any colour) and throwing a banana at him, well that can be justifiable to mock the player. But to mock a player based on skin tone, colour. That has no place in society.

Maybe Deion is right. Is it taboo for white reporters to be critical or question a black thing? Would blacks object to whites having a BET channel of their own? Called WET. Maybe from all the years of racism, blacks are sensitive to any criticism said by a white person. I think there is some truth to it. There are movies white men can't jump or white girls. The latter is racist IMHO. Imagine a movie called black girls was made. Imagine that opportunist rev Jackson get newsheadlines and say how this is an injustice blah blah blah.

Maybe Deion wants to divert attention and pull the race card for people to focus on that so that he can hide any incriminating past.

There are double standards in every society. It's terrible when people are being accused of racism AND pulling out the race card whenever they see an opportunity to benefit themselves. If Deion is a victim, I don't blame him for saying this. But sad how it makes newshealines still today.

The only link that doesn't seem racist but some made it to be was Lebrons diss of not high giving or shaking hands with a white man. Lebrons seemed out if position to not see his hand. Secondly, is he required to shake his hand like they do in a soccer match prior to kick off? So this one is questionable, but the user comments are crying foul.

Again, another racist incident.

Even though other incidents don't make newsheadlines it doesn't mean racism doesn't exist. Every culture, skin colour, religion have racists. Far too often the media portrays a certain group as victims while another group as the culprits.

Know your enemy and know yourself, find naught in fear for 100 battles. Know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory. Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.
