Making more money and studying on the side

I am a currently an English teacher in Japan.
I work a lot of half days. This year I spent time doing a course via distant education. I have a lot of mornings off - not ideal time for dates ect.

Now I want to make a side business. Any ideas or suggestions.

Possible Ideas are:
Translate productions from English into Japanese (My Japanese will be good enough in 12 months.)
Affiliate marketing.
Teaching Private Classes -working on this at the moment.
Writing E books.
Making money from a website.
Will sit Japanese language tests while I am here.
Possible do some http://www.udemy.com/ courses.

Another ideas? Self education ect.

I have used the search function and read most of what is on this forum. I plan to spend 2 weeks just thinking about ideas before I start to work on a project.
I like living in Japan, if I had more income I could save more plus spend more on things that make my life awesome.

For Business: Whatever you do, if you havent done anything entrepreneurial before it will be a long learning curve with lots of trying and failing and trying again until you get things right.

One-shot-one-kill never works out, even if your idea is blisteringly good in perfect market conditions.

So take an 'appropriate risk'. Something where if it fails, you get to keep playing and try something else. Blog, website, private lesson offerings, simple product - all great ideas. Just be willing to try-fail-try-fail-learn-learn-learn until things come together. The book "Little Bets" is the bible for this mindset.

For self education: Yeah there's tons of free courses out there. If you're already learning Japanese, I personally would do something like Systems Dynamics or Programming but that's just me. There's a thread here somewhere about cheap online study.

If I was in Japan for a year, i'd open a concierge service.
You need a computer, internet access, and a digital camera.

Concierge service works well in a lot of cities, but especially Tokyo/NYC.

1) You find yourself a niche, street wear, anime, ise cotton, martial arts, Keiren bike parts, electronics, sneakers, whatever you have good access too.

(indeed, don't offer everything, just a niche that you have close at hand. Something you pass by daily, or you're already interested in.)

2) You find yourself the message boards for said niche. (google)

3) You become a part of that community (much like you are here in Roosh), and you offer a concierge service to the people in that scene.

4) Advertise/put in your sig - "I will buy your *insert something you can only find in japan* and mail it to you for 10% + postage."

Or whatever pricing you want.

So something that costs 40 bucks, is 44 + s/h. They paypal you the money (or escrow), and you buy the goods with the remitted money, put it in the mail with a tracking #, and send it out.

here's an example that's on the Shopify platform.

http://www.japanonly.com/

You could be up and running in an weekend, and spend absolutely no money doing it.

(and you could definitely set up the reverse, for Japanese buyers looking for American stuff, if you've got a good partner)

Hi Superman,

Based on my own experience writing eBooks and selling them online through a very simple website could be a very rewarding option for you.

In case you don't want to put the time and effort in writing an eBook, then affiliate marketing is definitely something that I recommend to you. Because as an affiliate you don't have to have your own product to sell online but you are selling other people's products, ok?

But if you really want to earn money on the internet, you always must make sure that the topic of either your own site or affiliate marketing site is something of your great interest or something that you are really passionate about. Why?

Because if you pick up an affiliate program that pays you lots of commission but you are not enjoying selling the product that's part of such affiliate program, I can tell you that you'll quickly lose interest in selling that product and you'll soon give up running the whole business, ok?

Hope that helps you.

I am currently in the same situation, although I'm based in China. I have been thinking about affiliate marketing as a possibility. After a little research, I found that it will require a lot of work to set up. This isn't what put me off.

I've had a look at a ton of products that I could use. The issue is that I wouldn't buy any of them and I don't know anyone who would!

My background is in audio engineering/music composition, so I need to think of some way to put that to use here in China.

Superman, have you gotten any further with your plans?

The attraction to affiliate marketing is that it is location independent. So it really doesn't matter where I am now. Or even 3 years from now!

The second attraction is that It takes little or even no money to start up. Which is perfect as I currently have little/no money!

I don't see what being in China has got to do with this. I suppose if I had money I could set up a factory producing cheap toilet seats?

Am I missing something?

I would leave the make money Part out and just focuss on developing a Skill that hase the potential to make you money.

If you don't do that you might give up way to early when you have failed a couple times.

Focuss on making a Good Job and Developing you're skillset weather it is in Affiliate Marketing, Import Export, Trading ore Whatever you choose to do. If you're good at what you do making money shouldn't be a problem fore you anymore.

If I where in you're shoes and had limited Capital I would look at setting up an Affiliate Niche Bussines and than learn to outsource it completly so you just have to Manage it and are not involved in the day to day work latter down the Road.

Or the other Option depending on you're emotional Make Up and if you're able to handle Risk and Money Managment learn how to trade the forex, stock, option, or comodities market with a Brocker. That is the route Is great but was to slow fore me in Terms of seeing results and Scaling up.

If you want to learn about Affiliate Marketing just ask someone on this forrum ore search the Warrior forrum http://www.warriorforum.com/ a great Place to find free resources.

If you want to Trade I would suggest you Learn from here http://www.forexoma.com/ Buy a Course with one on one Trading and a Live Trading room ore even better try to find someone in you're City who is succesfully Trading and try to Provide Value to him in exchange of him helping you out with you're Trading Skills.

That is my Opinion and Experience: there is no such thníng as get Rich Quick you have to actualy try things out and put in the Work and know what you're doing and than you will make Money if that is What you want.

That is the reason you should choose something that you actualy like ore that interrests you since It might take months ore even years to make money with it.

Hope that helps you
Selfpaid.
