Typical American demands his food and home is spotless and free of germs, but will eat a animal (Pork) that eats its own shit.

I'm prettty sure that lots of countries eat pork. You know why? Because it is delicious.

I love my pork.... but its a filthy animal. I juggle morally the need to stop ingesting it since its not part of my classic heritage diet at all. I can't eat a animal that would eat its dead brother covered in shit if you served it him.

*Reaches for his plate of Pork Ribs*

Aside form the Chinese whom grew pork out of a necessity due to space and conditions they we're faced with (Chicken and Pork don't need a lot of space to raise) Its still not wide spread outside the 'Western' diet. The majority of the World's population does not eat Pork. Its viewed negatively in much of the world.

I suspect that this is due to the fact that untreated pork meat can be infested with tapeworm.

If a segment of the population consistently fell ill after eating pork, I can see who cultural attitudes would eventually develop that discriminated against pork eating.
