Great update - and fitting name - Renewal Man.

Under bron - Do you have to know the DJ to get in? And then it's $100-150 cover charge?

I'm out there as soon as it gets warm enough. Your post got me hype.

No you don't have to know the DJ to get in, just to get in free. I got a little lazy at the end there. It's a 100-150:- charge ( :- means kronor) so around $15-$22.

At basically every bar you can expect to pay $7-8 for a beer and $15 for a mix drink. At clubs your looking at $10 for a beer and $18 for a drink

Bear in mind that everything changes in the summer months, but hopefully ill have some more info to add after the summer starts.

It's looking like Stockholm is best for an airbnb operation. I know hotels are rape prices.

That said, which is better logistically, Stureplan or Sodermalm? How far are those areas from each other and what's the best way to get around btwn the two?

Based on what I'm reading, I'm pretty much going to go in with the view that Stockholm is just like gaming in the US. I'm not banking on some type of "exotic factor" for being a black guy or an American.

In fact, my boy Eros International (RVF name) was in Stockholm briefly once. He's a black guy from NY who models. He was at one high end club (I presume in Stureplan) and he said chicks weren't even impressed that he was from NY. It was like whatever.

Stockholm also sounds super diverse and I know they speak English there more closer to an American accent. Anyway, no complaints. I'm sure it's great either way.

^ I'll let RenewalMan comment, but Södermalm has more hiphop and is more mixed, I remember one club that was fairly easy to pull from called Club 67 or 57. Many of the Stureplan clubs seem to be purely about standing in line for the entire evening to at least be seen the right place. My personal experience is that the hottest swedish girls (and in general) are in Stureplan, I saw a lot of real stunners there, slim, tall, blondes who could just as well be seen in LA, London, Moscow, NY. In Stureplan there was this late night club where it was very easy to pull down in the basement under one of the main clubs.

Södermalm is more low key, but low key in Stockholm is not lowkey like in Berlin. It is still classy, good looking, plenty of girls.

You could stay in between like around the Gamla Stan, Old Town, area or somewhere around that. Wouldn't recommend right in Gamla Stan as there would be inflated prices, but if you look at a map you can see that Stureplan and Sodermalm are not that far apart.

It's really hard to say what is better logistically. It depends on your personal preference. Either way its very easy to get around Stockholm via the subway. Trains go every 10 minutes and it's about an 10 minute ride from stureplan to the most southern part of Södermalm.
At night the trains run less (every 30 mins on the weekend and they stop around 1230 sun-fri).

I will say this though-some parts of Södermalm are definitely better to be at than others. If you find a place ON Stureplan, you're a logistical king.

Overall, quality is higher on Stureplan, but attitudes are also much worse. If you have 2 girls who are roughly the same level of attractiveness, she will be harder to pull on Stureplan than on Södermalm. That being said, the there is more of an abundance of attractive girls on Stureplan and you will see more 8s and 9s.
Hen, for a well traveled guy like you with advanced game I think you would do well on Stureplan. My game is very intermediate and I tend to both do better and have more fun on Södermalm.

Also, during the week Stureplan is going to be your best bet by far. Sunday and Wednesday are the best weekdays to go out. You'll find some but not many girls out and about on Monday, mostly from the hospitality industry. Tuesday and Thursday are hit or miss. Better than Monday but as good as the other days. Still, girls are out and very willing to chat and be gamed. You'll find more college students out duing the week. Wednesday, as I said is my favorite day to go out. The ratios are always better than on the weekends and girls have a more carefree attitude.
Bear in mind also that everyone in Sweden gets paid on the same day every month (the 25th), so more people go out the weekend after pay day (ALOT more, sometimes too many), and there's are less people out towards the end of the pay cycle. I personally prefer it a bit slower, but that's just my preference.

When your looking for a place to stay, airbnb can be good, but I would also recommend checking out the Swedish "Craigslist," blocket.se. I say "Craigslist" in quotes because its FAR more reliable and less sketchy than Craigslist. Of course scammers are around but it's much more rare than Craigslist. You may be able to find some gems on here.
If you (or anyone) has any questions about locations when your picking a place to stay, feel free to PM me. The names of the different districts change every time you walk about 5 minutes (they are named after the subway stations), and it can get confusing when you see all these different names.

And there is definitely a bit of an advantage being American here, but only if you look and act like you belong. Often when a conversation is growing stale Ill drop some bait suggesting that Im American and you can see these girls' eyes light up a little bit. Alot of girls and people in general are very well traveled in Sweden and its a good way to break into other conversational topics. The guys who are clearly tourists have no clear advantage. Say you work here in international business or something, and just moved so your trying to check out the city. Girls won't cross reference you for your backstory too much as long as your attitude is congruent and since Stockholm is a very international city.

Edit: Also a lot of Swedes complain about Sweden and will ask you why you are here (or even why the hell are you here hah). Be very positive about Sweden. They like to complain but don't like to here foreigners bashing on their homeland. Play around and try to come up with a good backstory. Swedish girls are very open to talk to people, but the interaction must start off well.

There's a couple of points that can be made about this that can help guys visiting Stockholm and Sweden in general.

1) Swedes are aware that the country is quite dull to visit for most parts of the year and much like Poland or Ukraine gets a lot of outside visitors coming with the sole purpose to score and not being particularly smooth about it. So any tourist is going to be questioned on their motives for visiting. Like renewalMan mentions you need a businessman cover story. I would tweak this slightly. I advocate AirBnb + an expat cover story.

2) It can actually raise rapport with your target to be critical of the nation if you've previously demonstrated that you know what you're talking about. A lot of the criticism comes from political motivations (just check the RVF forum as an example) which in turn is rarely well-founded. Swedes get hit with this from all directions the second they get on the Internet these days. So the lack of patience with stereotypical arguments about Swedish society/politics has been running very thin the last decade or so.

3) The part about the interaction starting off well can't be stressed enough. You will rarely get a second chance. This doesn't mean that you need to do some circus moves. In fact something very low key that projects a good vibe is all it usually takes. Forget doing some really fancy PUA day game moves, being put on the spot in public is one of the worst things that can happen a Swede.

You probably mean club (bar) 54, as I couldn't find anything with 57 or 67.

I am planning to be in Stockholm from Tuesday to Thursday of next week. Not the best time of the year to visit but that's how it is for me, have to go on an errand.

@ Hencredible Casanova, I have been wondering if getting a place on airbnb will not work against you if you have a host who is not flexible.

I always verify the visitor's policy before I book. There's a tab called "house rules" on airbnb which will usually state what the deal is on bringing guests over. But I always confirm with the host through messaging.

I actually almost went to Sweden last year during a cold month but decided against it at the last minute. The airbnb hosts were all good about guests.

A couple of places I looked at were near the water where you can take some kind of small boat or whatever to the nightlife area.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Hi, Accomodation can be hard. Try to find a place in the north of the city. Nice areas, good connections to center and should be little cheaper.

Hi all, im new so apologies if I should be posting elsewhere.....

I am thinking of taking a trip to Stockholm then to Helsinki and Tallinn and was wondering what would be the best time to go?
I've heard its best to avoid Midsummer so I was thinking about going in early May next year. Would that be a good time to go?

Unfortunately I probably can only do a couple of days in one place so are there any clubs/bars in these cities that would be good midweek versus the weekend?

Many thanks in advance and if I haven't posted something that is needed hopefully someone can tell me [Image: smile.gif]

The 'Baller Chimes In

This is my very limited interpretation based on a recent short trip.

I just got back from 6 days in Stockholm. The city was average. I was with a traveling companion and not interested in gaming or chix. I was just preparing for and taking the 6 cruises planned. Then, the weekend came.

I've spent a significant amount of time in Las Vegas, less so in Montreal. Nothing in my life prepared me for the quality and quantity of beautiful women in the Stockholm City Center and Subway on the weekend. I've barhopped tier 1 vegas clubs on weekend nights, and it didn't even come close. There were likely hundreds of 9s and 10s. Most of them were in jeans and t-shirts. Most came off as warm and kind. I approached 20-30 9s and 10s over the weekend, leading from short conversations to intensely emotional connections. 8s and 9s followed me down the street a couple of times. For those of us challenged, there were 8s there in their 40s and 50s.

I've been back a few days now, and my recollection is fading into a production of A Midsummer's Night's Dream presented by Victoria's Secret.

I ended up in other parts of town later and ran across the average mixed bag of European and American tourists. Yes, European women on holiday approached and tried to sleep with me, but they were neither young nor hot. Also, there were American sorority girls there. One as beautiful as the Swedes but shorter paraded repeatedly in front of me, but the whole thing was a turn-off. For reference, they act differently outside of the strict confines of their college social circle.

The Arabs were something else, running in packs around the subway, wearing leather jackets, smoking, and yelling into cellphones.

It was a little expensive. If I was younger, I would get a scholarship, go to university there, and stay. If it were within my means to live well, I'd probably move there. A guy I met there told me rents were much higher than Berkeley.

I spent a portion of my adult life and teaching career in Asia. This trip made me wonder how life might have differed had I taken my old German professor up on his offer to set me up for grad school in Switzerland.

How come? Sweden and Norway are almost like one, germanic nation (from biological, historical, linguistic, and cultural perspective). Admittedly, I've been to Norway only but will "verify" in July.

I beg to differ. Stockholm may have the hottest-looking chicks, but it has a lot to do with class, outfit, makeup and such. Outside of Stockholm the girls will be less classy and fall more in the normal scandie category. In raw talent, Sweden and Norway are about equal imho, but then again I may be skewed by living in Norway.

Do you think the weather in Oslo is better than Stockholm? It seems like Stockholm is farther north. Sodermalm sounds like a good place to meet girls in Stockholm. But it sounds like the economy is better in Norway. How are the other Norway cities, especially in the south in terms of weather and girls? Been thinking about moving to Norway and finding a job there.

Oslo is further north than Stockholm, on average it's also colder and there's more rain and snow. Frankly the weather is shit both places, except a few weeks a year (although the summer has been very warm and dry in Scandinavia this year). Stockholm is a bigger, better looking and more interesting city than Oslo for historical reasons, but Swedish society is very dysfunctional. Norway is headed in the same direction, but the economy is good.
