How to respond to "You're not a very neat person, are you?"

Random girl shit tested me by saying "You're not a very neat person, are you?"

I responded by saying, "Why do you say that?" in a disinterested tone.

This put her on the backfoot as she tried to justify that question, which I couldn't be bothered to answer because I knew it was a shit test.

I would have, however, have liked to have totally nuked her hamster.

Any suggestions on what a such a response might be like?

It helps to have your shit together, but if that was just some random attempt at an insult then "says the girl wearing flip-flops in winter" or other such observation would suffice.

"You're not a very neat person, are you?" - Translates in hamster speak to "I'm a lazy bitch that doesn't like to clean house".

I used to have a bad habit of counteracting stupidity with maximum stupidity.

Her: You are not a very neat person are you?
Me: And one time, in band camp! (max sarcasm, roll eyes and turn away)

'neat' as in 'clean & organized' or 'neat' as in 'cool'?

I was folding a letter in front of her and she complained at how I folded it, and she reckoned that's how I organise everything else in life. So neat as in organised.

It was a very random comment in a non-game context, so I'm not sure what triggered off the shit-test, but I'm not happy letting people insult me.

'Ghandi always said that every man needed to be only clean, neat, and tidy... Do you think you'd fancy me more if I was like Ghandi? Should I shave my head or free India next?'

She's a nitpicking cunt.

If some chick did that to me I'd stop what I was doing, look up at her with a death-stare, raise my eyebrows slightly, and then go back to what I was doing and say something like, "So anyway, you can go ahead and take off." If she replies like, "OMG so sensitive" or "What? Why?" just be straight up and tell her, "You seem like the nitpicky type. I'm too happy with my life too keep a nitpicker around trying to knock me down, so hit the road." Don't be angry about it. Just say it in a very calm, collected manner.

Despite girls snarky behavior they all have this delusion that they're nice and sweet and deserving on some level. Knocking them down like this can produce fantastic results. If you can take a girl's negative behavior and magnify it one of two things typically happens:

1) she can't deal with it and she'll storm out. The immature ones do this. Let em go.

2) She'll realize she was in the wrong and get apologetic and submissive. These are the ones to fuck with, because if you can keep a girl in a state of guilt, that's when you start getting them to always do your laundry, bring you food, be generous with the BJs and taking facials.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

I don't think comments like that should even register with you as a shit test. I think it would be better if you rate most of these as simply being beneath your interest. When you start looking for these types of things it puts you on the defense when you should be moving forward towards something you value.

I notice a lot of threads where someone has keyed in on a particular passing comment a girl said and they're all wondering what to say. Vicious is right on. Shrug your shoulders, grunt dismissively and mail your letter.

These days I probably would have crumpled up the letter and threw it at her then tickle attacked her mock-screaming "you want neat? i'll show YOU neat." LOL

I like the maid response better.

whenever a girl says something like that to me (I am messy), I just go with archer-style "nooope." The length of the ooo in the nope or the uuu in yup will have to be adjusted to how big of a shit-test it is. This really is a non-issue to me so i would just go with a short "noope" as in, nope i'm not. The more blatant and serious the shit-test the longer the nope will be.

Girl: you're not very neat are you?
Me: noope

Girl: You're really not gonna give me half your sandwich?
me: noooope

Girl: You're gonna make me walk home 20 minutes in the rain because your too tired to get out of bed and give me a ride?
me: yuuuuuuuuuuuuup

Its good one-word game, very aloof. And the obvious reference to Archer means that in some cases the girl will actually be amused at how blatantly douchey I'm being. My ex would laugh while she told her friends the story of how I made her walk home in the rain.

If I can't come up with something witty I use two defaults.

Shrug it off or do one-word game, as above.

All great responses above.

Another good one which shows how you could care less: "you're welcome to leave whenever you'd like." I've used that successfully before with this sort of shit-test.

"Guess Im not"

Or just remain silent as if she had said the dumbest shit. That is an awkward comment, make it awkward for her, not for you. Stop trying to find the perfect response to everything. You dont have to respond to dumb shit, not at this, not at anything.

I think she was just trying to be funny and tease you. Just banter back with her "Maybe a bit, but i have this feeling that you can't even see the floor of your room" or someth
