I live in Playa too. I love it. Halfway between Venice/SM and Manhattan/Hermosa plus a cheap cab ride away from LAX, its quiet and right by all the freeways.

Alot of LMU girls eat lunch or dinner/hang out at Mendocino Farms in Marina Del Rey in the same mini-mall as the CPK. They have a nice outdoor patio so its nice there. When I was at LMU, you would always go to Thursday nights at Sharkeez in Manhattan Beach. Depends on the week though, but they used to bus the frats and sororities there. But it was a regular spot for college night. So was OBs. Also used to go to C&O's down at the end of Washington, they have a Cabo Cantina out there maybe some LMUers go there. We used to do Margarita Mondays at Acapulco's that used to be out in Playa..but after it closed did the happy hours/bars at El Torito in Marina Del Rey.

I've been out of that scene so I'm not sure what it is now, but it sounds about right. I sometimes catch games at the Tompkins, when it was the Fireside, it was a big drinking hangout for LMU people. I go there every so often but now it seems more like a restaurant than a dive bar. maybe i'll check out the hacienda.

Some go to Brennan's in Marina Del Rey for turtle racing on Thursday nights. I think a lot go to Main street in Venice and the Hermosa Pier on weekends.

Qwest, how do you like that Playa area? I'm searching various areas around LA right now to move. I'd love to spend a month or two focusing on college girls, see what I could pull. There's 4 main areas I can think of for said girls:

- SMC. But commuter school so doubt many of them go out around that area at night.
- UCLA. Got 2-3 bars, and daygame in the village. Most expensive area to live in though.
- USC. Hottest girls? But how insular are they? Probably nothing to do living in that area other than SC.
- LMU. Admittedly know nothing about it.

Just like PartyonBro said, the location is prime for everything with LAX, Hollywood, Manhattan Beach, Venice, and SM are all within striking distance. Playa itself doesn't really have shit going on, but the nearby areas do.

I went to SMC & USC, and you hit it right on the head with SMC chicks. They are from all over but DAMN are there some hot chicks over there from all over the world! Might be worth it to enroll in some BS class which you can still maybe get something out of and then also gives you a real reason to be on campus rather than just chasing tail.

SC chicks are definitely hotter in my opinion than UCLA chicks. Lots of smoking hot rich blondes from OC and other areas around So Cal and beyond. They mostly just hit the hollywood clubs and the bars around campus. I haven't hit those in a while and have been meaning to go to a SC game and then pillage them after. Hopefully I can still squeeze that in this season.

Living in downtown also puts you in a pretty good position for the SC chicks and it also has a scene of its own. Kind of hipster with many of the bars, but also has some pretty cool ones. You'll be able to pull tons of asian chicks in that scene.

Like I have always seen, scattered all about. That shopping center you mention is a staple of mine for lunch and they are definitely over there. The Chipotle is stacked with them also every afternoon.

Sounds like you boys are local, we should all try and connect here soon.

There was a brief period where I was macking at LMU. I went on a few dates with a pretty cute girl from there, that I met in the cafe. Unfortunately, no bang. I wanted to do more, just never worked out a system. I think if I had, I'd have done many more approaches. My impressions of LMU:

1. Not as many 8s and 9s, i.e. stunners, like you'd see at USC. But there are lots of very well put together 6s and 7s. They're thin, with nice skin, flattering stylish clothes, and are at their visual peak. They're also pretty easy-going generally.

2. As with any college campus, the hottest, most connected girls are usually dismissive of anyone they don't already know. You'll find it much easier to get with a girl on the bottom or the fringes of the sorority scene, or just not Greek. Thankfully, the Greek scene here isn't too strong. Still, the campus is majority female, and they're a little less promiscuous than your average college girl, so girls are relatively accessible.

3. Tons of annoying security guards whizzing by on Segways. Probably a bad idea to do massive amounts of street game on campus. I worked the library and the library cafe. And it's hard to get work done here when you have so much talent walking around. I literally felt a sense of euphoria when I got on campus.

4. Guys here look really timid and scrawny. I'm not huge, but walking around LMU made me feel bigger than normal. My point of reference then was Hermosa, where the average dude is pretty big.

5. The average level of quality is fairly high. I don't like places where lots of the girls are ugly, even if I can still score decent trim. Being in scenes with lots of ugly or low class girls is depressing.

6. From what I've heard, they don't like Hermosa. Some go to Sharkeez MB on Thursday nights, but I think that's the Greek crowd. I went to that once, didn't have any luck, didn't get anywhere. Did see some fine LMU girls there, but they were clearly the in crowd with guys in tow. I also don't like Sharkeez type bars in general anyway. As for where they go, I don't know. I heard Brennan's on Thursday nights, and probably Prince O Whales. Maybe that gastropub Tripel in Playa has some promise.

Unfortunately, they started charging for parking at all times - it used to be free on nights and weekends. I think you can park in the neighborhood and walk a couple blocks.

Qwest, I'm down to meet. I've corresponded with PartyOnBro, been meaning to meet up but haven't yet. Sounds like all three of us are really close.

FYI, if you have to go there on campus and want to maximize the number of girls walking around, "Convo hour" is around noon on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Its a time where they don't have classes or something like that and more people are walking around the quad area, especially on nice days. Sometimes they have events going on like a bunch of displays, political booths, bbq, music, performance, etc and alot of people hang out there for an hour more than any time.

All this chatter is making me want to try a move there. I wonder how close to campus I can get.

Well, the thing is that the area isn't really a college town atmosphere. the student body is transient at best, they'll run errands in the general area. They all disappear on the weekends and the campus is a ghost town: a lot of the people live around LA and go home on the weekends and so the big time to go out is Thursday night.

You're not going to see a whole lot of LMU people in the area on the weekends. When I was there, on the weekends we would either do Hermosa, Hollywood, or a party either in the dorms/on campus apartments or frat houses on campus (generally freshman/sophomores only) etc. We'd have people drive and we'd go out to the clubs and stuff like that out in the rest of LA.

IMO, if you're looking for a lot of hot college girls live out in West LA where SaMO and UCLA girls live and they have lots of bars out there that cater as such.

It's definitely not a party atmosphere on campus or near there, they really scatter all over the place. I live VERY close, and still haven't discovered one place they go consistently other than Custom Hotel a couple years back.

Completely agree. It's not the cheapest area to live but not the most expensive, but DAMN is there a lot of talent living in this little pocket below. Probably the highest concentration of hot girls in LA other than West Hollywood and a couple other areas over there.

In the map below the area bounded by San Vicente to the north, Texas to the south, and Bundy & Barrington to the west and east respectively, you CANNOT go wrong. In the immediate area you have a ton of bars with UCLA and just other westside chicks. Q's, Cabo Cantina, Mom's Bar, Busby's, South and just down the street a bit you have The Wilshire, Charleston, etc.

Great place to live if you want to be close to everything and have tons of chicks orbiting at all times. You'll get a few fatties of course as well, but overall tons of cute-hot girls.

I'm always game to pillage that area as well, easy pickings!

I used to live off of Goshen back in the day when I went to UCLA. Actually I do recall a lot of hot girls all over the place. Rolled solo to Q's a couple of months ago and didn't like it, but I can't deny the # of girls that go out around there. I've had a lot more success on Main St in Santa Monica, and Hollywood though.

But yes, thanks for all that info, very helpful.

I'm not a huge fan of Q's either but there are always some chicks running around that gauntlet right there.

I agree that Main St./Abbot Kinney is probably a little better and classier for sure in most cases, but the chicks aren't as concentrated in terms of where they live like they are in that area surrounding Goshen.

Speaking of Goshen, my weed dealer used to live on Goshen, was that you Slubu?? Haha

Slubu, have you checked out busby's? Asian girls galore on Fridays. As an aside I remember attending a couple lakers games last season where the talent was very high. Lots of dolled up girls in pairs too. I got the vibe that it was the place to be seen. Very much the antithesis of a clippers game. Maybe guys should pitch in for season tickets and we can rotate tix or even host rvf out of towners.

I second what Qwest said about the area close to Q's. You see non-stop attractive girls there day and night. Walking dogs, jogging, and bicycling like it's going out of style.

ALSO, Let's not forget that area right around where Gorham and San Vicente intersect. Right at the starbucks, pink berry area along with all the other cafés and restaurants. Lots of beauties there too, except a little older on average.

I think of it as where the girls in Qwest's "triangle" go to live 10 years later.

busby's east is fantastic. UCLA asian girls galore on fridays/saturdays. Ahh, the prime wonder-years of college prior to the heavy alcohol and late-night pizzas marring those pretty faces.

@ all you above...not a fan of Asian girls otherwise I'd be all over Busby's. I used to go a lot back in 04-05, lots of hotter white girls there at that time but that's faded from now.

What bars in Culver City do you guys recommend for a solid date-spot during the week (in this case Weds)? Preferably something not too pricey, with some decent attractions/shops/deserts nearby?

Ugo wine bar. its fun to use their card swiping wine machines, a bit more interactive than just ordering drinks and you can do a lot of tastes, etc. only knock on it is the seating isn't that great for a date IIRC. If upstairs area is open at Rush Street its good too because they have couches up there and a decent outdoor patio.

If the shops nearby are less necessary, I really like the Bigfoot Lodge on Venice. there is more intimate seating and lighting is dim and the environment is more conducive for what you want to do.

I second Ugo. For a date spot it is great. The walking around to try different wines allows for easy touching and can make it into a game by betting on who chooses the better wine. If you get apps/food it can get pricey though, ended up dropping about $100 there last time I went.

I would hit 777 which is located in the alley basically behind Ugo if you are not trying to do a full dinner. They have some appetizers you can order and they make good drinks. Real good old school Speakeasy feel in there, dimly lit and you will in all likelihood be sitting on a couch with her next to you making it easy to make a move on her.

Another good option is the Culver Hotel. Good atmosphere, often someone playing the piano in there, appetizer cart cruising around, and they make mean martinis which will surely get her buzzed.

If you want full dinner, hit the Corner Door. Not walking distance from any other shops, etc, but a good vibe and also really good drinks and food. Not cheap, but not a budget breaker either.

Other options mentioned are also good plays, but I think 777 is almost a perfect venue for what you are trying to do. I live in Culver City and that is my go to date spot in most cases.

I don't really go out that much during the week in LA anymore. During the week I usually lay low and just get work shit done and bang the chicks in my rotation rather than wake up with a probable midweek hangover. When traveling, different story, but at home that's the usual routine.

I don't go out that much in LA to bars/clubs at all overall anymore. Dunno, just kind of over going to do it, its always hit and miss when I do it on the weekdays. BUT, lately I've been trying to get back into networking and private parties and stuff. Doing a few professional networking groups, parties, etc. They get moderately crowded, its easy to approach versus a bar/club and the girls are often better quality depending on the event you go to (for me, they're almost always better than bars/clubs).

I am trying to get out more than I have been, but mainly in a professional sense. Networking events....some of them throw GREAT parties where a lot of girls go there solo too in order to find a job, etc. Go to the marketing events and stuff, tons of good girls at those. I go to Mindshare events downtown, I've been meaning to go to those First Fridays at the Natural History Museum (too much traffic for me to get there after work though). A few Digital LA events. Next Wednesday i'm probably going to hit up a big real estate networking event in SM...I don't work in real estate (I put on my RSVP I worked at a holding company), but there were TONS of cougars and hot real estate agents last time there (lots of dudes, all suited up too). Sign up for a bunch of meetup groups, there are TONS of them and they'll give some heads up to some events and parties.

My networking and connections to get into these events used to be a LOT better (magazine release parties, studio events, etc) when I was a go-gettin' 20 year old..but to me, that's the thing to get into on weekdays. Alot of them do holiday parties so now is the time to build the ability to get on those lists.

As for bars, I've been meaning to roll solo to the Dresden Room again, used to be my old stomping grounds...i just like listening to Marty and Elaine and its decent crowd. I sometimes do the Brig on Abbott Kinney on Tuesdays too, I've done that solo in the past with decent results.

Was just at the Magic Castle tonight. Any of you guys been? Really one of the most amazing spots you can visit in this town, or even the world. Nothing like it. My buddy is a magician there and hooks me up with entry. He's got good game too. He showed me first hand how powerful magic and game go together. I'd always known about Mystery combining the two, but you really have to see it in front of your face to believe how quick a girl will go from indifferent to wet in the panties with a good combination of magic, conversation, kino and escalation. I was winging with him when we approached a two set, but there was little I could contribute since he pretty much had their full attention with magic.

Tonight there were a lot of couples, but I've been some nights where there were many more single girls and everyone is really approachable due to the nature of the venue, especially for Hollywood. If you know even a few basic tricks to open with you are in.

I have been there about 5 times myself and completely agree about how sick that place is. Its an unbelievable venue to take a girl too, but I have always seen mostly couples there as well. Everyone is very approachable in general and you have countless easy openers with all the stuff going on around you at all times IF you can find single girls. Its just not the kind of place where most girls go without dates. Not to say there aren't single girls, but I have seen them few and far between.

I love everything about that place though in general and NEVER hesitate to go there. Getting suited up and watching the best magicians in the world do their thing in Houdinis old stomping ground is priceless.
